Congrats on the new arrival Molly!

This weekend my roommate threw a Pig Roast. I guess about 100 people came. 160lbs pig, keg of beer, Margarita machine and a TON of food.

I've been eating pulled pork BBQ for breakfast lunch and dinner for the past 2 days and there is still ALOT left.

Molly, are you trying to tell me you couldn't fit the name "Hokie" anywhere in there?!? Seriously congrats on the new rugrat. :-)

07/28/08 02:06 PM #813

Chris Wallace

Yep, congrats Molly!

And yes Brendhan, Jose De La Vega. Thanks for the correction!

Chris, I was right....AGAIN! ;-)

Seriously I just remember his name because he and I basically sat in the back of Senor Wright's spanish class and failed Spanish I together when I was a freshman and he was a junior. My excuse for failing was I came in 6 weeks after school started and was lost. I don't know what his excuse was. It just seemed so funny to me that a guy named Jose De La Vega would fail Spanish I. He was a good guy and a hell of a tennis player...he didn't have any great shots, but he returned EVERYTHING. Very sad about the way he died.

Brendhan - I went to the firing range this weekend for a friend's bachelor party.

http://www.wadesguns.com/

I have never fired a gun before. Now I have.

Congrats, Molly.

My 'rents still eat b-fast at the Leesburg Restaurant every Saturday that they are in town, which is not that often these days, but it does happen.

How do you people remember all these teachers? I have no idea who you're talking about. The only one I remember is Ms. Perry, my Study Hall teacher. But that's because she always let me out to go to the "girls bathroom" or "get something out of my car".

Oh and if you lived in the Pacific Northwest you would have no doubt that Big Foot exists. We prefer to call him "Sasquatch" though.

Anne, I'm headed here in a few weeks with my brother...

http://www.atlantaskeetshooting.com/

he wants to learn how to shoot a shotgun. I haven't shot skeet in about 5 years so we are going to take a class together...ought to be fun.

Have fun. Next time I go back I want to shoot the shotgun. We stuck to the handguns.

And say hi to Liam for me.

Molly, congrats on your new little Hokie, Raleigh Glennon Taylor Randall Druckenmiller Noel Clark DeShazo Furrer Rutherford. (I intentionally left out the names that start with "V").

Brendhan, did you say that Jose De La Vega died?!?! Really?? He was a great tennis player. He basically walked onto the team and was 2nd seed immediately.

I hope you show up in your Big rig at the reunion!

Kristin, it'll probably be in Leesburg that weekend. unfortunately, it won't be my $300,000 chicken haulin' rooster cruisin' large car! sorry, that's trucker talk. i always laugh as I type, because most of u'all are sitting at a desk as u type, but my laptop is mounted to my dash just like a cops. i'm currently on I90 going by Albany headed to Syracuse. that's why i use all my strange shorthand

Congrats Molly

Chris - if you bring the big truck, you could just haul everyone home in the back after Shenanigans.

Ok - another pet peeve - politicians who call with the recorded messages. You pick up the phone and it's "Hi! This is so and so...." sounding all happy like their your best friend. If you want me to actually listen to you, and more importantly vote for you, call me yourself or at least have one of your reps call so I can actually discuss the issues. If I have to get my butt off the sofa and answer the phone, I want a real person on the other side! I had one of those calls last night and it just reminded me how irritating it is.

Good idea Amy. We could continue with the party in the back of the truck after Shenanigan's closes.

07/29/08 10:28 AM #828

Chris Colson

that's a good idea Amy. we'll kick the reefer (not that kind u'all!!) down to -20 and see how quick that sobers everyone up. there will be a fuel surcharge however.

Brian,

Yes, I think Jose died about 15 years ago. I'm pretty sure it was while I was in college (I graduated in '93). The story I heard (and I can't remember who told it to me) was that his roomate got up one morning and saw him lying on the living room floor and thought he had just passed out there after coming home from a previous nights partying, so he left. When he got back later that day Jose was still in the same position. He checked him and he was dead. Evidently he tripped and hit his head on a coffee table. Anyway, that was the story I heard. :(

Chris - I'm sure Brady will offer some more of someone's money to cover the cost of gas.

07/29/08 10:43 AM #831

Brady Chapman

No problem. I will be happy to give another hundred of Joes money for fuel.

Wendy Cubbison (Huybrechts)

Brush up on your Spanish! Senor Wright is coming to Shenanigans! :)

Brady, u just made me realize i'm going to need a special policy for the night or should we just have everyone sign a waiver?
