Joan Moncrief

My hobbies include reading, playing piano, being a caregiver, and making sure that Christ is a major part of my life.

I taught 20 years in Public Schools (5 in Oglethorpe County and 15 in Taliaferro) and 20 years in a Christian School (Principal and Teacher), Crawfordville Baptist Church School.

I retired in 1999.

I thought when you got 70 years old, you would be "old" and gray and crippled--but surprisingly I feel as well now and have as much energy as I did when I was 50 years old. I am well blessed in so many ways.

I remember Joy Callaway having a pet monkey (or so they said).

I remember Tommy Adkins falling and breaking his arm at recess.

I recall Dennis Helmreich walking to school when the bus left him. He lived up above Crawford.

I am not sure if Tony Smith was in your class, but I remember that he was drowned.
