Myrtice Evelyn Carey, 87, of Lexington, died Sunday, July 12, 2015. Born in Statesboro to the late Russie Lee and Mattie Lou Smyth Prosser, Myrtice was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Carey, and brother Marvin Prosser. She is survived by her children, Myra Carbonell, Melanie McMichael, and Jody Deaton (Paul), grandchildren, Alex McMichael (Lilia), Pate McMichael (Marlene), Adam Carbonell (Jenna), Jared Deaton, John Prosser Deaton, great grandchildren, Jack and Mila McMichael, and sisters Marjorie Brandimarte, Myra Alice Langley, Mooney Prosser, and Melba Whitaker. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 14th from 6-8 P.M. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 15th, at 1:00 P.M. at Lord and Stephens East Chapel. Burial will take place at Clark Cemetery following the service.
