Im sad to report that Debbie Colquitts mother passed away this week. Eleanor and I were fortunate enough to have known Carolyn and for years have known what a sweet and kind person she was. Today at her memorial we found out just how special she was. Neighbors stood up one after the other and told of how she helped them and the children of the one's that were not able to be there came to testify how she helped take care of their parents. She will really be missed by her family friends and neighbors. Please keep Debbie, Joel and family in your prayers.
Also keep Ted Hansford, Tim's brother in your prayers as he has been in the hospital.
Gloria please let us know how Gerry is doing. The good news for today is the time changes soon and spring is just around the corner. I hope everyone else is doing OK and have a good week.

Bobby I was just reading some things on the class of 68 and Gary had a class picture on there and I think you were in it. I didn't know you started so young posing like that. Everybody remember to set your clocks forward this weekend. Boy am I ready for spring. Have a good weekend.

Bobby I thought it might have been you in that picture but seems some people think it's Gary Grice.
Well I hear from my gun dealer that everyone is afraid We are going to be stuck with the same old president next year. Seems firearms and ammo are being bought up like crazy. Well maybe something good will still happen. And talking politics I hope everybody plans to vote no on the T SPLOST bill coming up in July it involves much more than a Penny tax.
Eleanor and I just returned from Myrtle Beach. I think one day if we retire I will move to the beach. I might get tired of it if I lived there all the time but I love going as often as I can now. Well everyone have a good week

Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather!  Travis is getting the pool ready.  The granddaughters are out of school next week.  We have never opened it this early.  All the girls have to do is sweet talk Poppa!

We enjoyed seeing Billy Rogers and his mother at CVS on Wednesday.  We need to go out to eat  sometime soon.  Maybe Warren and myself can come up with a date and let everyone know.  Any suggestions as to where or when???  Hope everyone has a nice Easter and finds the prize egg!  :)

We had a  great time at the BBQ shack tonight.  Good food and great fellowship.  Saw several people we had not seen in awhile.  We talked about doing this more often.  Maybe another fellowship will be planned in late May.  Encourage all the classmates to read the message forum and keep up with what is going on.  Let us hear from you!!

Eleanor and I had fun at the class gathering thrusday night. It was good to see everyone and great to see Robert out again. Bobby I saw where after glass of 69 broke up you crashed the class of 68 meeting. I'm sure those old people couldn't keep up with us youngster's. Hey now is a good time to plan the next one anybody got an idea.

Hey Everybody.

Bet yall thought I had dropped off the face of the earth!! NOT !!! It has been busy crazy here and I have not been on here in a while.

Just a quick note to let you all know I will be flying home June 7-18 for Mother's 90th birthday.  HOWEVER, I don't think I will be in Winterville until Sat. the 9th. Mary is picking me up at the airport and we will more than likely stay at her place in Atlanta until Sat.  Then head on down for the Argo Reunion.

We are spending the week at the lake for Mother's birthday so am not sure if I will get to see any of you while I am there but wanted to let everyone know just in case.

On another note,  Please keep Jean and Johnny in yours prayers -- I am sure most of you know Johnny lost his brother David -- very sudden.

Also, Joseph Duke, Martha's grandson (Debi's son) broke his leg in a bad accident last week and is going to have major surgery either Monday or Tuesday from what I am understanding.  Please keep them in your prayers.  I don't know the details but it sounds bad to me.

Talk to yall soon

Janet

Yes Charlie Warren, I did have the honor of seeing several folks from the Class of '68 last Thursday at Loco's. When you told me they were meeting there and that David Landers, was visiting from Texas, I thought I'd crash the gathering. Went to Loco's and from the private dinning room a loud ear-splitting raucous noise poured forth! I'd found them! I go in and this lady was serving what I thought was shots of whisky to everyone...when in Rome...so I take one of the shots...to my surprise it was their evening dose of Geritol!!! I guess that's why they were having such a good time. It was great to see all these folks...even saw Wolf Atkins a.k.a. Tommy. His wife gave me a strange look when I called him Wolf. It has been over 44 years since I'd seen some of the good people. Except for the beard and gray hair David Landers looked the same...can't say the same for all the rest but I don't think I'll go there!

We all agreed that we need to have a get-together for several classes. It would be a blast! Class of '68 said they would provide the Geritol!!!

Gloria Janice Nation (Gabriel)

HI All!

I don't know whether I'm doing this correctly to get all of you.  I'm trying to write to everyone by using the Message Forum page.  Would you let me know somehow if you get this so that I'll know whether it worked?  Thanks!  smiley

I just wanted to let you all know that Gerry's dad died last Thursday.  He was 82 and had many health problems. We are sad for him to go, but glad for him to join Nanny.  He has wanted to be with her since her death in 2000.  The funeral was Sunday and Peggy and Travis provided the music.  If you haven't' heard them sing, you should.  They are great!

Gerry is still wheelchair-bound and will be for about six more months.  He has had three surgeries so far.  Others may be in the future, but he is healing well and remains in good spirits.  So, over all, we are coping pretty well.

Let me hear from you all!  We can't travel this summer because of Gerry's injuries, but would love to share your good times by hearing about them!!

Gloria Janice

Janet glad to hear from you again. If you do have a chance to get together when you are here give us a call. We had a blast the last time you was here. Bobby I'm glad you found the secret of the class of 68. I hope you explained to them that the reason we broke up early was because our restaurant closed at 8 and they threw us out. We had fun at the Legion last night it was good to see Albert and Mitchell it had been awhile and all the others there. Gloria glade you updated us on Gerry, I'm sure he's getting tired of the wheel chair and crushes. I know you take good care of him and he doesn't have to get up for anything. We are praying for both of you. Everybody let's all get together again soon. Have a good week end. Warren

Hope all the mothers out there had a good mothers day. Dennis Bridge's mother passed away this week she was 100. Tim Hansfords brother Ted had surgery Friday last word he was doing good. Congratulations to Maggie Erwin, Bobby's youngest daughter who got married Saturday night. We are finally getting some rain. I hope we get 3-4" before it stops.
Have a good week.

Happy birthday Ann. I hope tomorrow is a very happy day for you and may we all have many more.
Eleanor and I spent the weekend in Calhoun Falls with Debbie and Joel at 30th annual town wide yard sale. It's the only thing that ever happens their. Tomorrow the streets will be rolled back up and the place will look like a ghost town.
Everyone keep Billy Rogers in your prayers he has had some health problems recently and can't figure out what is wrong. I told him if he keeps going to these Doctors they will kill him. I think He has come to the same conclusion.
Everyone have a good week.

Ann Mattox (Hill)

Thank you Warren I had a good birthday.  I just decided I'm not going to have anymore.  I am going to stay 61 from now on! ha ha   I fell and hurt my back and I am going to have to have a nerve block on my lower back.  We can't fall at our age we fall apart.  I hope everyone has a great summer and be careful.

05/26/12 11:51 PM #333

Ann glad you had a happy birthday. Hope you get OK from the fall, my dad had nerves blocked in his neck 4-5 years before he died and it worked good for him. You are right we better watch those falls now.
Billy Rogers is in the hospital and might go home Sunday before going to Emmery next week for more test. He has been feeling bad for several weeks and has lost close to 30#. So everyone please remember Billy.

05/27/12 12:02 AM #334

Warren Mason

Please forgive my spelling I was half asleep. Billy is going to Emory in Atlanta for the test.

05/27/12 06:33 PM #335

Warren Mason

Billy did not get to go home this morning, they decided instead to keep him at Regional until Monday morning and then they will take him by ambulance to Emory. They believe he has a mass blocking his bile ducts. Everyone keep Billy in your prayers.
Peggy I enjoy so much seeing Carlie sing in the choir with you. She is so cute I think it brings a smile to everyone there. Well looks like it's going to be a dry summer again. Guess Eleanor won't have to cut the grass that much.
