I just received Tim's email about how this is year 70 for most of us and I thought that, considering I "boldly go where no one has gone before," I would give everyone a preview of the year to come,
Diane and I drove down to DeLand, Florida, on Jan. 6, so we could be at Blue Springs State Park the next morning to see the Manatees. You can see them only in winter on cold days. After we passed through Jacksonville we learned that the Capitol had been invaded, so that occupied our minds for the rest of the day and into the evening. Nevertheless, the Manatees were unfazed by national politics and showed up in force at Blue Spring, 1400 of them! So, that was a really special 70th birthday.
We got our COVID-19 shots two weeks ago. My dental hygienist asked me if I had any side effects and I replied that it was hard to differentiate from the aches, pains, and befuddlement that I normally have on any given day. Phase 2 is in mid-February.
Dean's birthday was actually on Jan. 5, but he was 364 days younger than I am. That was always an irony for me.
Love to all you old farts, get your COVID shot!
Brad
