It is time for another hot supper at the Legion.  Thursday night Tim, Mitchell, Bobby, Ralph and I will dine in Lexington around 7:00 PM.  If anyone would like to join us, come on down.  They have a great t-bone for about $14.00. You never know who you will see there.

Hey everybody come watch Bulldog Lowe blow his diet!! If someone will bring him a diet coke I'll bring him a granola bar...it's for his own good and Edie would appreciate it I know! Edd is right, ya never know who you'll see at the Legion...makes for a lot of laughs and laughing is good for the soul.

Speaking of good for the soul...I recently heard a fellow say read a few pages of a good uplifting book at the beginning and the end of each day and your whole outlook on life will change. I'm finishing "The Travelers Gift" by Andy Andrews. An easy read, but it may be one of the most profound books I've ever read.

If you have a good book you can suggest please give us the title and author.

Love you all!

Hey Bobby that is just a rumor, we are still trying everyday but no luck yet. Since we are eating at the legion tomorrow night I wanted to post this just in case someone needs it.
Two hillbillies walk into a restaurant. While having a bite to eat they talked about their moonshine operation. Suddenly a woman at a nearby table, who is eating a sandwich begins to cough. After a minute or so it becomes apparent that she is in real distress. One of the hillbillies looks at her and says kin ya sawallar. The woman shakes her head no. Then he ask, Kin ya breathe? The woman begins to turn blue and shakes her head no. The hillbilly walks over to the woman lifts up her dress yanks down her drawers and quickly gives her right butt cheek a lick with his tongue. The woman is so shocked she has a violent spasm and the object flies out of her mouth. As she begins to breath again the hillbilly walks slowly back to his table. His partner says "Ya know I'd herd of that there hind lick maneuver but I ain't niver seed nobody do it!"

Bobby Erwin

Knew I'd get someone on here besides Edd Bulldog Lowe and me with that "expecting" comment !!!

Good to hear ya'll are still trying!

That hind lick maneuver could get ya hurt! They might choke to death if someone's looking for me to do the maneuver !

Love you all!

I weighed in this morning at the weight loss clinic.  I have now lost 26 pounds. For lunch I had collards, butter beans, squash and green beens, all cooked in vegetable oil.  I am ready to blow it out tonight.  I am having a 16 oz T-Bone with a baked potato.  I'll have to walk 10 miles Sunday to recover from my diet this weekend.  Let's go eat, drink and have a good time tonight.  It is only one day per year that we can celebrate Bonnie's birthday.

Hey All !  Hope the coming week will be full of cheer, laughter, and successful ventures!

How about a quote for the coming week...I read this the other day. Phillip Brooks wrote:

"Get the pattern of your life from God, then go about your work and be yourself"

Folks that's powerful!

Love You All !!!

Well hope everyone had a good weekend. Eleanor and I had our annual camping trip with David, Margie, Joel and Debbie. We had another good weekend telling tails and eating. I had a ear infection the first day and Dr. Burt gave me a home remedy to fix me up. I think it was battery acid and something else that ate right through my ear. Next year we need more of you to join us. We can tell we are getting old because we spent a lot of time talking about our aches and pains. I look forward to the next get together. Have a good week.

Hey all, I was just thinking about prayer and giving thanks for all we receive:

"If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, 'thank you,' that would suffice."

Meister Eckart

and Ralph waldo Emerson said

"For each new morning with its light, For rest and shelter of the night, For health and food, For love of friends, For everything Thy goodness sends."

And when we are giving thanks to the good Lord don't forget a 'thank you' for family, friends, business associates and those who servre us daily...do it with a smile and that will multiply the 'thank you' by ten for the person on the receiving end!

Love you all!

Hey all. Bobby your last post hits home with me. I try to give thanks everyday for all those things you mentioned above. Eleanor and I have been blessed with so many good things especially family and friends.
Connie Morgan White is having a get together for the class of 68 at her home on Sunday oct 21 at 2pm. She wanted me to post an invitation to anyone in the class of 69 to drop by and visit with them.
Hope everyone has a good week.

Hey Waren thanks for the heads-up on the Class of '68 get-together. I have a great neice's birthday party to attend but I'll try to made the scence at Connie's pad. Understand this '68 crowd is get a little on the wild side...hear the drink of the day will be Geritol with a splash of "5 hour energy drink"...now buddy that's getting out there!

We all need to take time and call a friend just to say hello...it'll do wonders for our souls and will put a smile on our faces. We spend so much time on things that really mean very little to us in the long-run. Old Gothe may have said it best - "Things which matter most must never be at the mercy of things which matter least."

Love you all!

I did not get to go by Connie's today, I've had the gout in my foot this weekend and can hardly walk. I hope no one else suffers from the gout it comes on with no warning is is very painful. If any of you dropped by Connie's please post how it went. Maybe we can get together before the holidays. Anyone have any ideas.

Warren, I hope you are feeling better.  I saw Nancy Tucker Griffith this week and she said they had a good crowd at their reunion.  She said no one from our class was there.

Janet Byrd

Warren, that sounds horrible and painful!

I hope everyone has had a nice fall.  I think of everyone often!

Warren Mason

Well I'm still suffering from the gout, but my worst problem is medicine they gave me almost killed me. I have had a negative reaction to the pills they gave me and that was as bad or worst than the gout. I hope I'm on the road to recovery now. I hope everyone else is well. I want to remind all you classmates to check your wills and make sure they are up to date. And if you don't have one do your family a favor and have one written. Janet glad to hear from you, hope more of you check in. Sorry none of our class made it by Connie's for there get together. They probability think we couldn't drive and we couldn't get our kids to take us. Everyone remember to vote Tuesday this could be this countries last chance to save it for our grandchildren.

Warren, I have heard that gout is an affliction of kings and nobility,,,it's because of their rich diets,,,all that Pheasant -underglass, wine, french dishes, rich desserts and the like. Edd Lowe suffers from gout too...I guess when you're rolling in the dough you can afford to eat high on the hog!!! You two need to back away from the table a little!!!

Too bad about the grandkids...they will live difficult lives.

I hope you recover from the gout soon...I understand it is very painful. You and all our classmates are in our prayers everyday.

Love ya all!

PS Oh, the reason reason I didn't go by Connie's is that I have an allergic reaction to the smell of                        Ben Gay ointment! You know how those old people are, they slather down in that stuff to treat all those old creaky sore joints!

Bobby if I had any money it's all gone now, doctors and pharmacies got it all. The gout has moved three times in my foot and now is in my knee. Never had it this bad before. I'm really tired of spending the last 4 weekends in the house but beginning to like the short days at work. Well I hope everyone else is doing OK. Hope all you Veterans had a good day and thank you for your service. How bout them dawgs. How many of you think they can beat Alabama. Wouldn't that be nice.
Well I hope no one in our class live in the north east where the hurricane struck. When I start feeling down I just think of those people and how lucky we are. I got behind a large convoy of Alabama power trucks coming back south on 85 last week. I don't know if it is true but I heard they wouldn't let them help get power restored because they were not Union.
Bobby I think we may have to try that Ben Gay because that class of 68 seems to be able to out party the class of 69.

Warren, I just figured we were a little worn-out from all the partying we did while we were young! Now my having said that, I can hear that old bunch come back with a "tortoise and hare" analysis between our classes!

Everyone have a great thanksgiving. Edd don't go off your diet to much. I've lost 8lbs while battling the gout but I don't recommend that diet.
