So sorry to hear about Billy.  Our prayers are with his family.  I will be ordering flowers on Monday from the Class of l969.  I hope as many classmates that can will attend the visitation and funeral.  Arrangements will be made on Sunday morning and will be announced as soon as possible.  Please continue to keep his family in your prayers.

I will miss Billy he was my friend since the first grade. He knew my Dad before he knew me because my Dad worked on the same farm with his dad Duke. Billy's family lived on the farm so he played around there and knew all the workers. It was part of the same farm he later bought and lived on. We were friends from the beginning it was hard not to like him. Through the years we did not get together on a regular basis but every now and then I would stop by his house or the barn most likely, or he would come by our store for something for the farm. Billy was the one that got us motivated to get the last class reunion going. I remember him encouraging me to drag race some guy all the way through down town Athens one night when we were teenagers. Luckily we did not get caught. I have lots of memories and will miss him being here to stop and talk with and for the steak dinners that some of you and I had with him on some thrusday nights. Warren,  thanks for posting about Billy.  I just got back from vacation in New England and got the message from Bobby on my cell phone.  It is a sad day.  Tim and I talked last week about him and were hoping we could go see him this week.  I expect to see most of our class at his funeral.

I am so sorry to hear about Billy.  I am at work and fighting back the tears.  All of the memories of us just came flooding back.  We were like a family, going to school for 12 years together.  He will truly be missed.  Sorry I won't be there in person, but know that my thoughts and prayers are with everyone on this very sad day for us all.

RIP Billy -- We love you !!!

Janet

I am so sorry to hear about Billy.  We use to sit and tell jokes all the time in Study hall. He was such a close friend to me.  Billy and Buddy are cousins.  He thought a lot of Billy also.  I will miss his laugh and smile.  I heard about it today and I really feel bad and I am worried about his Mother, she has lost both of her sons in just a short length of time.  I would like for all of his family to know I will be praying for them to get through this hard time.  Thanks Warren and Tim for keeping us informed on Billy's condition.

Janet I think they were thinking of donations to saint Jude hospital because while Billy was in the hospital he noticed how many young children had cancer. I will try to let you know for sure tomorrow.

Once again we have lost a piece of our childhoods.  Billy was such a "stand up" guy and was always so nice and kind.  He will be missed by every one of us.  Heaven has truly gained another angel.  My thoughts and prayers are with his family, especially his mother, who has lost both sons.  There is no greater pain than losing a child or your children.  May God grant them all the peace that passes understanding.

Rest with God, my Friend........

To Warren -- Thanks -- I received an e-mail from Edd this morning with the information.  However, it seems that I need his address for the donation.

To Bobby -- You are so right.  We will truly miss Billy but we must all pray that God will grant them all peace and know that he is at peace and watching over us all "still" like he always did.

God be with us all.

Janet

Billy's service was very sweet today.  I know he would have been proud to see so many of his classmates at the visitation and funeral.  Please continue to keep his family in your prayers.  Be in prayer especially for Billy's mother, she has lost both of her sons within seven months.

Several of our classmates got together last night for a fine dining experience at the American Legion in Lexington.  Those attending were Charlie B. and Eleanor Mason, Albert Aguilar, Katie Canup, Sheri Emerling Rogers, Gary Roth, Allen Bridges, Tim Hansford, Mitchell Huff, and Bobby and Jane Erwin.  Most people had their delicious T-bone steaks.  Because Edie has put me on a diet, I only had a salad and Jack Daniels.  I was chastised for having the Jack Daniels.

Hopefully our next little outing will be at a little higher quality supper club.  We will send out an email to everyone when we go.  It was good to see everyone last night.  It would be great if we could all have dinner together a couple of times per year.  Let me know if you have any suggestions.

Hello classmates!!! Yeah the Class of '69 had a little get together Thursday at the Legion...steak night...always gooooood!! They have a DJ that agreed to spin a few tunes we listen to growing up. Well, no sooner than the first notes left the speaker "HOT FOOT" Bridges and Katie hit the floor dancing...some of us still have some bodacious moves!!! Bridges was showing the young folks how to shag...then several of us wowed the crowd with twisting to Chubby Checker! Just goes to show you're only as old as you want to be !!!!!

Edd, the steaks are good, we're on home turf, let's just keep going where we're really wanted. Where are we going to go and have the chance on reconnecting with folks like Chubby Grimes...that's priceless!

Love you all!

Legion night was fun. Could anyone believe Chubby is not Chubby anymore. Edd what ever diet he is on I think you should try it really did work. Now that we know Allen can Shag we expect him to show us all how at the next reunion. On our next get together we will try to give more of a notice and hope to see more of you there.

Hey out there! A thought for today...

A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words.

Anonyous

Call a friend today...they just may need to hear you voice!

Love Ya!
