Pam and I had a great time. Thanks to all of you who did such a great job putting this all together. Hope to see everyone a little more often in the future. Take care.
I added some pictures. It was great to see you and Pam. Can't wait until next year!? Or maybe we should all come to Mississippi in the winter and have a reunion down there. Do you have room for all of us?
Wayne and I got back to Estes Park around 9:30 tonight. Wayne keeps telling me what a wonderful time he had with the class of 78 last night! :) He thinks you are all super people and so do I, of course!
Thanks to ALL who planned and pulled off such an awesome reunion. It was so bittersweet to see all of my classmates from 30 years ago - sweet because there is a lot of love between all of us and bitter because the years have flown and our high school years are long gone!
Jim and Mike - I will forgive you (smile) for dragging me up on the float and onto the "stage" last night - only because I had so much fun after I got there!
I am proud to be from such a great class and I think Wayne is a wee bit jealous of our class's camaraderie - he graduated in Dallas, TX in a class of almost 1000!!
My only regret: That I didn't get to talk longer with each and every one of you at the reunion. It was too FUN!!!!
I hope that we can all stay in touch through this site in the coming years.
Hey! I put all of my photos on my blog site - the URL address of which is on my profile. The photos turned out great. My hubby did a pretty good job at playing photographer.
Again thanks to everyone who organized such a wonderful time for all of us! Have a great week!
In honor of our 30th reunion:
"Poems, Prayers, and Promises"
Ive been lately thinking
About my lifes time
All the things Ive done
And how its been
And I cant help believing
In my own mind
I know Im gonna hate to see it end
Ive seen a lot of sunshine
Slept out in the rain
Spent a night or two all on my own
Ive known my ladys pleasures
Had myself some friends
And spent a time or two in my own home
And I have to say it now
Its been a good life all in all
Its really fine
To have a chance to hang around
And lie there by the fire
And watch the evening tire
While all my friends and my old lady
Sit and pass the pipe around
And talk of poems and prayers and promises
And things that we believe in
How sweet it is to love someone
How right it is to care
How long its been since yesterday
And what about tomorrow
And what about our dreams
And all the memories we share
The days they pass so quickly now
Nights are seldom long
And time around me whispers when its cold
The changes somehow frighten me
Still I have to smile
It turns me on to think of growing old
For though my lifes been good to me
Theres still so much to do
So many things my mind has never known
Id like to raise a family
Id like to sail away
And dance across the mountains on the moon
I have to say it now
Its been a good life all in all
Its really fine
To have the chance to hang around
And lie there by the fire
And watch the evening tire
While all my friends and my old lady
Sit and pass the pipe around
And talk of poems and prayers and promises
And things that we believe in
How sweet it is to love someone
How right it is to care
How long its been since yesterday
What about tomorrow
What about our dreams
And all the memories we share

Lori - based on my limited observation I don't think a reunion in a semi-dry county would work very well :)
Now we could take a short drive south and get a few balcony rooms at the Royal Sonesta in New Orleans. That would be fun until the police got involved.
Kudos to all that planned the reunion I had a gret time Guy even had fun and He don't like to go anywhere we both has a good time and enjoyed the entertainment . hope to see you all around town and if any of you need a cell phone come see me . OH and Edgar WHERE DID YOU GO MISSED YOU !
Sorry I couldn't make it back from WSOP in Vegas. It looks like everyone had a great time. I hope someone had a drink (or two) for me. Stay cool and good luck in the future. Class of '78 rocks! Ruth
Just wanted to thank everybody that showed up for the parade and reunion. What a great time I had. Food was wonderful, and the music and singing was memorable. A special thanks to Eddie for singing Paradise By the Dashboard Lights with me even though he didn't want to.
A great big thanks to Pam Curt's wife for bringing the tequila. That was the biggest crowd at our table all night when that came out.
Eddie says to Jeff Sandy, please don't quit your day job.
I thought Joe did a great job of "MC"ing the program. He's never at a loss for words.
Well that's about all for now. Safe travels to those of you still in the area on your way home.
I echo what everyone else has said about the reunion. I haven't stayed up until 2:30 AM for quite some time!!! It was great seeing everyone and there is no doubt that we are THE BEST class that's ever graduated from SEW! I think the consensus is that we need to do this more often!!
Do you want to know another little tidbit? Southeast Warren was actually established in 1959-1960 (the years that most of us were born) so the first graduating class from SEW was in 1960. That makes all of us the same age as SEW school!!!!
Best wishes to all of our classmates, whether you were able to make it or not. I hope seeing and hearing about how much fun we had will make those who weren't able to attend want to make it to the next one!!
Well Kristi, here you are! I don't think Jeff or Scott should quit his day job either, or you and me. But then again, maybe we could get a group together and make a hit. Hmmm......
Kim, I heard you were at the picnic, sorry I missed you. But, we will have more get together's more often. And you will be notified.
Becky, thank you so much for the snackie food at the reunion. My husband would like to order a dozen cookies a week and then I would like to pre-order 4 dozen for Christmas please. My sugar cookies just don't turn out.
Kim B., Curt and Christie, thank you for your travels back. It was wonderful for you to do that. See, as Jeff said, our class is the best.
Ruth, you have kept us all up on everything with your life, and that also means alot. Can't wait to see more pictures of you winning lots of money and to see you on TV. Once they start airing the women, you let us know immediately, I want to see your "straight" face. And don't laugh either, because your classmates will be watching you.
Oh, Shelly, I am very sorry you had to put your puppy to sleep and miss the reunion. I explained it to a lot of our classmates, and they and I truly know how you feel. It is very sad to lose a member of the family. I wish you could have been here, but I know you will be back real soon. we have a lot of catching up to do.
Remember, the website will be up as long as we keep it going.
1) Becky for the munchies - didn't realize she had made all of the goodies. They were yummy. 2) Kristi for the fantastic T-shirt (of course I paid for that - lol) and the great commerative glasses - we can always use drinking glasses around our house! 3) And last but not least, LORI for all of your hard work as I do believe that you went above and beyond the call of duty regarding the reunion (hello!) and thank you for keeping this site going! I truly am hoping that everyone will continue to post here, new photos of grandbabies, their lives, and to drop in and say hey every now and again.
Good to see more people on here and Tena love the name of your daughter "Hannah Justine" - we were considering the name Justine instead of Emma and Renada has a daughter named Hannah, so we didn't want to use that name. Rick where are the photos of your adorable son?? More-more everyone!!!
Lori, as you know I was thinking of not coming back for the reunion at one point but I am SO glad I did. Wayne and I had such a good time and as I said, my only regret is that we couldn't have stayed longer on Saturday night to talk with everyone (Greg I wanted to talk with you more and others), but I sure would not have liked being drug up front to sing karaoke (sp?) so phew - got out of that one! :)
Can't forget Kevin for setting up the float and keeping track of the $ and guests, Luann for all decorations, she did a super job! and Mike, Barb Weeks, Joe, Max and Michelle. We had a great team. I think it is time to start planning again. But this time Kristi and Dixie will really be clean-up committee. hehe When is the next meeting? I am going to miss the meetings. We had a lot of them.
Oh and I still think the cruise would be an awesome idea. Might have to put a survey up to see when and where we want the next one.
