Lori- I'll start looking around in the hs basement for those yummy looking cheerleading outfits.
Dan- I'm sure everyone can handle the blue suit! How about you, in the blue suit, on a motorcycle in the parade?

02/25/09 03:19 PM #585

Lori Godlove (Goering)

Dan doesn't need to be on a bike, he can just stand there and look dashing in that suit, along with the heels of course!

Teri- Give me time- and I will give you all of them, even Jr. High.

Mike Allen wants to know if anyone is interested in riding Ragbrai from Indianola to Chariton. You can contact him at 515-681-1235. I will be there to serve cocktails.

Good morning all last night Eddie and I rode around my old neighborhood and we got to talking about an auto accident that killed LeeAnn Rhonda and Bridgett Walker.
They had moved here from Des Moines when we were either freshmen or soph. They hadn't lived here very long before the accident happened.

Does anyone remember the circumstances surrounding the accident? Eddie remembers that Roland Garner came up on it, but that's all we could come up with.

I don't remember that car accident at all or those sisters. How sad.

As for me being a cheerleader - something I would like to forget! I hated every minute of it! I was SO shy and only went out for junior high cheerleading because I wanted to be popular like Renada. I was NOT Renada - I was out of my league essentially being a cheerleader. I remember playing sick so I didn't have to go cheer at football games on Saturday mornings. It was a pretty bad time in my life - junior high is rough for most kids in one way or another I think.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Oh and Curt thanks for letting us know about the photo you recently posted on your profile. How exciting to be able to visit the Middle East. Still haven't heard from Jimmy on his recent escapades to far off places. Jimmy?

Speaking of exotic places, I highly recommend everyone go see "Slumdog Millionaire" if you like to learn about other parts of the world through movies. The movie makes you sad to see how people/children live in India, but it really is a fabulous movie and deserved every Academy award it received.

Happy Birthday Greg!

Sorry Penny I forgot you. Didn't mean to.

Ruth do you know the poker player that is on Celebrity Apprentice? Annie Duke? Does anyone else watch this? It is quite comical. You ought to check it out just to see Joan Rivers, she looks like a puppet. Gosh I hope I never get that old and need millions of dollars of work on my face.

03/12/09 06:49 AM #600

Lori Godlove (Goering)

Yes we are going. How long will you be back for?

03/12/09 09:26 AM #601

Curt Bregar

It is one of those come back and go to the rehearsal dinner, wake up and go to a shower for chelsea the next morning and then go to Brandons' wedding/reception, and then get up and fly back the next morning.

Hopefully the weather will support!

See ya at the wedding

Well, I flew out and back to Seattle last week for my uncle's funeral and made it in one piece so maybe that will encourage my husband to fly. I did leave out the part where we had to change planes in Denver because of an instrument gauge malfunction though....

You should have taken him with you Dianne. It would have been good for the old fart.

I know, but we just got in over 5000 baby pigs so someone had to stay home and babysit.:) My sister went so we had girl time and it was a good time. I'll get him off the farm somehow. I'm thinking sedate him and then buddy tie him to Jim to get him on the plane. As long as they don't pull him out to search him it ought to work don't you think? He'll wake up by the pool in Vegas and wonder where he's at.....

I just posted my response to the Summer Get Together survey. I'm with Dan - we need to get together every year. Like I told Lori, I also think it's time we start a tradition for the July 4 parade (Dan, we won't make you wear the leisure suit EVERY year!). We've still got the sign from 2008. Maybe we can inspire some other classes to do the same. Especially for 2010 when most of us turn 50 (or will be very close to it) we need to have a big "half century" party!!

Lori Godlove (Goering)

Yep, it was probably the best part of school Ruth, for me anyway. Until I got in a fight with someone. Was that you or Barb Ballard?

03/16/09 07:05 PM #607

Lori Godlove (Goering)

I was not mean. I am pretty sure it was Barb Ballard, cuz Kelly Hilpipre came over to visit it me and she was mad.
