I am here. I will be in glorious Milo next week! I plan on going to the State Fair on the 15th. It sounds like Carla and Jim Reeves both camp out at the fair. I have been informed that Kristi and Eddie will be going and possibly Brad and Michelle. Could we have another gathering of the Class of '78 at the Sate Fair? Maybe we should have a booth. Hope to see a bunch of ya next week.

Danny, I can't make the 15th. Have friends coming in from SC,and we are going to the fair with them on Monday. I don't think I can handle 2 days of it. Sorry. But if you are in Milo, give me a call, you can come out and pickle something or other.
I have not talked to Kristi in a couple of weeks. Should give her a call. I know it is horrible losing a parent.

I am not sure when I will be going to the fair on Saturday. Firefall is playing a free stage Thursday and Friday evenings. I will be up there one of those two nights to see them. Frampton is Saturday night. I may go to that as well.

Last I talke to Kristi she seemed in good spirits. Naturally she thinks of her mother every day and that is all in the process of healing. I admire how she has handled her losss.

Lori - I don't know about the hot peppers, but I would take a jar of your hot pepper jelly - sounds yummy. Post the recipe if you can.

Hope everyone had a great time at the ISF. We had a wonderful time. There were not enough hours in the day - we had Emma on the Midway at 9 p.m. - shame on her parents! :)

Then we went back to Darla's. We got to visit with Terry T some and missed getting to see Jim R at the barns. We were there on Friday and had wonderful weather - it was East Side night that evening and my sister warned me about that but we didn't believe her - she was right - wall-to-wall people - we had to fight our way through ths crowds.

You can take the girl out of Iowa, but you can't take Iowa out of the girl! :) I made sure to eat some AE cottage cheese while there and also we brought home good ol' Iowa tomatoes.

P.S. Lori - that was an LOL statement about taking a jar of your jelly BTW! FYI. :) A recipe would be great, though, and a recipe for your salsa - as if I will have the time or the skills to make them! Ha.

We were there on the 14th. This was Wayne's first time at the Iowa State Fair and he loved it. The last time I was there was with Mom and all my sisters and their kids the year before Mom died, so it was kind of bittersweet to be there again.

Emma loved the fair. The weather was really pretty perfect - not too humid and breezy so if you were in the shade you were comfortable. Basically Emma's Mama ate her way through the day - ha. Darla had a fried Milky Way Bar - yuck!! Sounds horrible to me. Now a fried Snickers Bar...maybe! lol :) I always go for the lemonade and the corndogs...and the ice cream!
