Ouch, I haven't been on in a couple of days, and doesn't look like anyone else has either.

Well those that will be popping in- mark November 28 on your calendar.

Ladies Day Out Vendors show at the Milo Legion Hall from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Some of the vendors attending will be-
Dove Chocolate (of course)
Party Lite
Vemma Nutrition
Gold Canyon Candles
Pampered Chef
Tastefully Simple
Possibilites- Mary Kay, Spilada Jewelry and a lady that sells handbags.
Oh and guys- you can stop by too, and I am sure we can help you pick out a perfect gift for your loved ones.
Hmm, maybe I should arrange a "Gentleman's Day Out" around Valentines.

Time is flying. I will 50 soon. Yikes!

Has this weather been great? Are the best crops in the world all harvested in Iowa?

11/16/09 07:18 PM #1217

Lori Godlove (Goering)

Not yet. When are you coming to town, Dan the Man??

Everyone there is a surprise B'day Party for Eddie on "Black Friday" November 27th at 7:00 pm at O'Neils in Lacona. The attire is black or camoflauge.

And remember- hush- it is suppose to be a SURPRISE. I am pretty sure he isn't going to pop on here and read about it either. I think I would bet my paycheck on it:)

11/16/09 07:20 PM #1218

Lori Godlove (Goering)

Oh Dan, they won't know the theme of the parade until 1 month ahead of time. So you can make your suggestions.

Christina Haltom (Farrar)

Not that many get on this site anymore but HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all the December birthdays, especially to Cuz Dan and Ronda (and Randy)! Dan I saw a card the other day that I wish I would have sent to you - said something about being "halfway up the Stairway to Heaven" and had a cartoon of some hard rockers from our era. Can't believe we are all a half century old. Have a GREAT time at your party tonight, Dan. Wish we could be there, too - sounds like a good time. We want to see photos here on the site!!

Also, wanted to say MERRY CHRISTMAS to all and a Happy New Year! I cannot believe it will be 2010 - how in the world did we get here???

Emma turned 2 on December 15 and I posted a new photo of her on my profile.

Just wanted to say hey to all my "old" classmates during this holiday month of December. I hope 2010 will bring all wonderful things to you and your families!! All the best!

12/19/09 09:49 AM #1231

Lori Godlove (Goering)

Happy Birthday Danny- now you be good tonight! Don't want to hear any rumors about you down here in Milo.

Christi, Emma is just adorable. Hope you all enjoy your Christmas. She is just at such a fun age now. Spoil her rotten.

News from the Frazier's- expecting 3 more grandbabies next summer. Kevin's girls. June, July and August.

Happy Birthday to all the December birthdays and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone. Just for a little humor, I thought I would post these tips:

Tips for Holiday Eating
1. Avoid carrot sticks. Anyone who puts carrots on a holiday buffet table knows nothing of the Christmas spirit. In fact, if you see carrots, leave
immediately. Go next door, where they're serving rum balls.

2. Drink as much eggnog as you can. And quickly. Like fine single-malt scotch, it's rare. In fact, it's even rarer than single-malt scotch. You can't find it any other time of year but now. So drink up! Who cares that
it has 10,000 calories in every sip? It's not as if you're going to turn into an eggnog-alcoholic or something. It's a treat. Enjoy it. Have one
for me. Have two. It's later than you think. It's Christmas!

3. If something comes with gravy, use it. That's the whole point of gravy. Gravy does not stand alone. Pour it on. Make a volcano out of your mashed potatoes. Fill it with gravy. Eat the volcano.

4. As for mashed potatoes, always ask if they're made with skim milk or whole milk. If it's skim, pass. Why bother? It's like buying a sports car with an automatic transmission.

5. Do not have a snack before going to a party in an effort to control your eating. The whole point of going to a Christmas party is to eat other people's food for free. Lots of it. Hello?

6. Under no circumstances should you exercise between now and New Year's. You can do that in January when you have nothing else to do. This is the time for long naps, which you'll need after circling the buffet table while
carrying a 10-pound plate of food and that vat of eggnog.

7. If you come across something really good at a buffet table, like frosted Christmas cookies in the shape and size of Santa, position yourself near them and don't budge. Have as many as you can before becoming the center of attention. They're like a beautiful pair of shoes. If you leave them behind, you're never going to see them again.

8. Same for pies. Apple. Pumpkin. Mincemeat. Have a slice of each. Or, if you don't like mincemeat, have two apples and one pumpkin. Always have three. When else do you get to have more than one dessert? Labor Day?

9. Did someone mention fruitcake? Granted, it's loaded with the mandatory celebratory calories, but avoid it at all cost. I mean, have some standards.

10. One final tip: If you don't feel terrible when you leave the party or get up from the table, you haven't been paying attention. Reread tips; start over, but hurry, January is just around the corner.

One kind of celebrating. Safer than most.

Wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday season. One more year down, even though some of us have already reached that 50 year celebration, remember we are only as old as we feel. To all my January birthday classmates, Happy Birthday and many many more.

If anyone needs some advice on turning 50, I am sure Dan will be more than happy to contribute his wisdom. :)
