I should have included an all of the above choice.

Happy New Year!

We just returned from our vacation in Hawaii, my 4th island trip to see the volanoes for my birthday.  We also did whale watching and it was 81 degrees/sunny during our 10 day trip.  If you haven't been, I would highly suggest Oahu or Maui as my favorite islands.  The Big Island is remote and a rental car is required for sightseeing.

I haven't been on this site for a few months, so happy to see a wedding & baseball updates from our classmates!  (I also have a Cardinal fan in our house Danny.)  Assuming that a class reunion in 2012 is not in the works?  Looks like the 4th of July parade is status quo.  Just working & playing poker here.  I still travel frequently - would like to make it back to Iowa (preferably when it's not snowing).  2011 wrapped up with $1.4m in sales and my 2 daughters now live together in downtown Austin City Limits.  Awwww to be 26 & 23 single living in this Musical college town!  Nothing else new here, life is good in Texas!  :-)

Wishing everyone a happy, healthy, & prosperous 2012,

Ruth Hall (Bertrand)

Ruth! With your big year in sales I was thinking you could fly us all to Hawaii for a reunion. Whaddya say? wink

Looks like the Beatles Album survey is a complete deadlock. Six votes and six albums have been chosen. I will have to send another e-mail to get some more votes.

Danny,

I would have to win the WSOP Main Event to host our reunion in Hawaii, but if that ever happens you've got a deal!  ;-)

Dan -

The Beatles were before my time.  How old are you?  ;D

I have never liked the Beatles.  They are Wayne's fave but they were his generation.  He gets told all the time he looks like Paul.  He looks like Paul about as much as I look like Linda!

So I can't help you with your poll.  Do you want me to ask Wayne?

Hope you are doing well and having a mild winter up north like everyone else is!

Chris

Before your time? You and I and all our 'mates were four or five when the Beatles hit the USA. I remember it well.

I wasn't a Beatles fan growing up but I have seen the influence they have made in music and I have grown to respect and enjoy their music. I could grab any one of their albums and enjoy it at anytime.

YES! This winter has been incredible. Feels like spring up here. We will probably get a 15" snowfall in May to pay for this.

Hey on the survey, you needed to put a "none of the above" box to check.  :D  That would be the one I would check.

Cuzin Christy, per your request there is a NONE OF THE ABOVE choice on the Valentine's Day survey. I was hoping to get a handsigned card from you. frown

I know it is February 9 but has anyone heard a theme for the July 4th Parade? When do they make this huge important decision? Does white smoke come out of the City Hall when the decision has been made? I may have a conflict of interest this year as The Beck family is considering an entry into this infamous parade. Where will my loyalties lie?enlightened

I have never felt so sad to hear that a Monkee had passed away. I have always enjoyed their music and the crazy TV show was classic.

Fair Warning to my classmates in Iowa. I am on my way for a visit this Sunday and Monday. Dad had bypass surgery last week and is at the Good Samaritan in Indianola for his rehab. The surgery went well and he is on his way to healing.

I see no talk of a float for the 4th.  Anything going on?

06/20/12 03:47 PM #1805

Becky Lundberg (King)

Hi, Dan.  I saw your e-mail about the 4th of July float.  Kevin and I are going to be around for the 4th this year.  We can't help much on the 3rd because we'll be busy with Bluegrass Tuesdays the night before but we could maybe help if we do something the weekend before, like on Sunday, July 1, or the evening of July 2.  We could surely come up with an idea of "America - Iowa Style."  Are we going to incorporate a water theme again....? :-)

06/21/12 10:37 PM #1806

Danny Beck

I will be back on July 1. Let's start throwing some ideas out so we can start planning. YEAH! Right! Every other year was done by the seat of our pants. Kinda like studying was in High School. Well, it was for me anyway.

The American Civil War........IOWA Style. Cyclones fans versus Hawkeye fans.

What do you think of that idea? Barb and I both thought of this. Recreate a battlefield and use water balloons as weapons. C'mon 78ers. Let's hear some ideas.

06/29/12 10:11 AM #1808

Becky Lundberg (King)

It's got my vote!!  I think it's a great idea - definitely can't get more "Iowa" than that.  I have to work Monday night and close the video store and then we have Bluegrass Tuesdays on Tuesday night but we could come down to Milo when that gets over and work late or we can get down there early Wednesday morning.  I don't think Kevin has anything going on Sunday afternoon either so let me know what we can do to help!!  We always have to have the water theme!!
