Recollecting...

As our group seasons, more and more we hear that they look back on the '50s as the best time to grow up. This decade saw us age from seven to seventeen. Much happened during that time. From childhood to young adults we tasted life for the first time. Lifelong friends were acquired at elementary school. At Junior High school, in the Fall of 1955, we discovered a young adult experience. We learned we could 'Rock Around the Clock' and we found 'Heartbreak Hotel' at the end of Lonely street. Boy meets girl and girl meets boy. There were Sadie Hawkins dances, Friday night YW dances, then the Prom that were new to us. Getting our drivers license offered independence. By then some of us discovered what we wanted to do as an adult. Complex learning at Lima Senior High came into play. And the world was a peaceable place post-WW II. The the memories still linger. Best ever.

It has recently been voted that the Lima classmate's luncheons will take place on the fourth Wednesday of each month throughout the year. It will remain at the Eagles on West Robb Avenue at noon.
