I attended UNL and received a B.S. in Speech-Language Pathology in 2004, and received a M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology in 2006. Since getting my Master's, I have been working for Omaha Public Schools as a speech therapist for two elementary schools in North Omaha. My caseload is fairly high--averaging 80 kids. So, it can be pretty stressful but rewarding. I work with kids on a variety of speech and language disorders (examples include difficulties in articulation, language disorders, autism, stuttering, hearing impairments, etc.). Even though it can be very time consuming, I love it.
I also love having the summers off. I have done some traveling--Hawaii, Mexico, Utah, California, Oregon, Colorado, Pennsylvania, but would love to do a lot more. I just need to find more time and more money. I have also been getting into backpacking and camping, thanks to my boyfriend. I also would like to go on a backpacking trip through Europe and Asia sometime soon. I think that would be amazing.
Lately I have been getting into running. I've recently ran the Lincoln Half Marathon. I'm finding it very hard to run during this humidity right now, though.
Other than that, since 2000, I've been either going to school or working at school. When I have some time, I enjoy traveling and working out.
