Race for the Cure!!! October 11!!
I know it seems like you have a long time, we do have a deadline coming up. If you do not wish to register online, but prefer to mail your registration form to me (it needs to come through me to put us together as a team) I must have it in my hot little hand by September 9 to hand deliver it on the 10th. Obviously, me mailing the form to you, and you mailing it back takes some time, so if you want to go this route, please let me know ASAP and send me your mailing address.

We have 4 people signed up for our team.... could four football players have beaten Mills? Could four cheerleaders have built a pyramid? Would the choir have sounded like a choir with only four? How good would a four Lionette ripple have looked (ripple? is that what it was called?) Would it have been fun to cruise the Springs if only four cars were out?? NO!!!
Let's get crackin!!! Sign up today!!! You don't even have to run or walk - you can be a Spirit Runner and get your beauty sleep! Sign up! Sign up! Waaaaaaaay up!

Steve- You where right I have a twin in that year book. I guess I never saw that. Too too funny. And oh yea I have my hand raised with the fist right now and will soon take action on it. I will practice the other signs before the next gathering.
For anyone who has been afraid to go or procrastinating or still waiting on a babysitter and the time as I was,
you must make the time to join in. And as always these are the sweetest people ever.
Little Rock Lions- thanks for letting me be a part of this nights activities even if I bailed early. I had a blast. You all are a blast.

Ah . . .Karen, you beat me to the punch! It is very late, Vicki Winchell, I mean Burgess, just dropped me off on her way home. Bart danced well tonight . . . Was so great to see everyone and spend some real time catching up. In fact, all you guys danced great!! Bendi - was wonderful hearing your voice on the telephone earlier, Pam and Joe Pohlkamp - have always loved you guys and you know how much . . .Jeff Porter, so great to see and talk to you and hear from Greg Murtha via your telephone (Murtha and I grew up within a couple of blocks from each other). . .. Kim M. thanks as always for organizing everyone . . . so great to catch up with you and your family . . . April - oh my gosh, I was soooo glad to see you tonight! I think you are more beautiful today than ever, very much so on the outside, but to me moreso on the inside, which is the very best part!!!! We will catch up personally and privately I know. Steve Poteet, Teresa White, Gina Jeans, Andy Adams, all so wonderful to see and, well, gosh, everybody just looks great and seemed so happy to be together tonight, it was very heartwarming and wonderful to hang out for a few hours. Caroline - you've always rocked and cracked me up since we were little girls. Still do ... love that southern accent! Love you guys, and THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH for having a get together when I was in town and could take part.

Love Always,
Amy

Wow...everyone is already posting about the big Lion's Night Out last night!! Once again, a good time was had by all!!

It was great to see some new faces...everyone knew that Amy would be there...but we were surprised and delighted to see Karen Wise, Jeff Porter, Vicki Winchell and Pam Baughman. Vicki and Pam brought their husbands...both of whom are amazingly self sufficient and Karen came stag...but she promises to bring her hubby next time...I still need to talk to that guy!

Just about the time Caroline was ready to start calling people, an urgent text came through from Bendi telling us the Mountain Lions hoped we were having fun...so we called her first and everyone got to say hi. Caroline reported that the Mountain Lion's Night Out was a lot of fun, so a vote was taken and we all agreed that as soon as NWA plans a Saturday outing, we are going to road trip up there and crash their party!! We also called the Po-Po, who was sadly absent because it was his turn to protect the women and children of our fair city.

Amy seems to be recovering nicely from her recent surgery. We had a lot of laughs telling stories on ourselves from back in our school days. After all these years I still never hear a Chicago song without thinking about her...Early in the evening it became very clear that while Amy surely has a brilliant legal mind, we all hope the good people of Texas never require her to produce photographic evidence in their defense. Luckily, Gina stepped in and snapped a few pics so Amy would have our smiling faces on her camera to take back home.

Our good friend Steven Poteet may have been taking some lessons from Monica...he was swarmed by strange women and I believe I even saw one bring him a drink!!! It's probably a good thing Jeff Porter left the lovely Deanna at home...no telling what might have happened if she had been in the presence of the Steven!

Apparently, T-Bone is tired of being the comic relief of the post-game report. She slipped out early and called to report that she was home safe before the stragglers even made it to the cars. It's not even news that she and the twins set the dance floor on fire...cause they are always smokin' hot.

Speaking of stragglers...seems Monica, Caroline and Paul all headed out together as the group dispersed ....no report yet on their "after party"...you know...it's always the quiet, reserved Lions that surprise you when they decide to roar!!

Andy "Idontdance" Adams showed up late,(bearing gifts) danced with Monica, refrained from tossing anyone off the deck, and still managed to instigate mass confusion. He was busy in the short time he was there!!!

I'm going to need to see hall passes from Ned and Sony...you know the new rule...unexcused absences are rewarded with a good old fashioned tree rolling!!!

We missed Elizabeth, but she was excused prior to the event due to a migraine...I can't figure out why she has such a problem with headaches...she doesn't even have a husband!!!

Once again... if you weren't there, you'll never know what you missed. Ask any of the new faces...everyone is welcome and we always have a good time. Join us next time..you'll be glad you did!!

The New York Times is soon going to steal Kim to start writing "page six" for them.
Sorry I missed the party. I can't tell you how much I was looking forward to it. But I slept 18 hours and feel - actually a little weird, but better.
Thanks for the update, Kim! I am so glad you all had a hoot!
PS - did you find me a hot man? (perhaps a migraine doc?)

Patty Heathcoat (Figueroa)

Hi Everyone! Stephanie just found me about a week ago on Facebook and told me about this website. It has been so much fun reading about all of you! I am so jealous that I missed the reunion. I will definitely plan to be at the next one!

April Hoyle (Weiss)

Amy-You have not changed a bit, you are still my friend and the most beautiful shinning star in the room or the deck. We all wilted in the humidity and you stayed perfect. I am so glad that you came to see us, in spite of your recent surgery. I don't know if I could do it. But I had so much fun and I always do when I am around you. I loved it when you broke out into song, Pink Floyd's money. You are amazing and, gurlfriend, your comments are too too TOO kind. We will definitely talk later. You have been missed.

Kim-Monica made it home just fine, Thanks to Paul and Caroline. I swear, I can't take that girl anywhere. Far be it from me to make a correction to the Kim report but Monica didn't dance with the one that doesn't dance, she only danced with Caroline and T. And why weren't you dancing with Monica? Next time Monica, Sony, Caroline, T and me will drag you out there.

Caroline-Thanks for your help, you are an angel and blessing. I will try to keep the phone calls to a minimum, sorry.

Like Karen said, this is a fabulous group of people, caring, supportive, and fun. If you are thinking about coming out, you will really enjoy the stories and the people. It was so great seeing every single one of you.

I have to post..anyone who hasn't had a chance to get out on Saturday night to Cajun's Wharf, should go and have a little fun on Lion's Night Out! Despite the fact that I didn't get to stay very long, it was pleasant to sit on the patio and chat with everyone. I truly believe there are enough pass time events to last us all a life time! Ms Caroline and Ms Kim are the best hostesses! Ms Amy was so~ vibrant and beautiful, I'm sure this social gathering was a positive for her recovery! Mr Steve P. is a great conversationalist and there was never a dull moment with him! Steve, you're a hoot! Ms April, I hope you brought home all your lipsticks and glosses..you are to~ funny! I hope your sister had a great birthday! Hopefully, next time I can stay longer. Thank you again for a terrific time! Always, GinaJeans!

To all that was there Saturday night it was a goodtime had by all as usual! We had some new faces show up it was so great to see Amy, Vicki, Jeff & Karen! & of course I got to tare up the dance floor with Paul he got out there & busted several John Travolta moves I didn't even know he had. Paul you can dance with me anytime.

Monica & my trusty "sister" Caroline rocked out the house the rest of the night. Steve its always a pleasure to see your sweet face. We caught up on some old times & made some new plans! T-bone was a good girl & left early.

Until the fuzz pulled me over on the way home to check me for alcholic beverages.... I thought I was gonna have to show the twins to get out of a ticket. But thank goodness for clean driving record he let me off with a warning & sent me on my way...I thought my heart was going to jump out of my chest..I made it home safe & sound... I had only one drink all night in case you were wondering..

Hey everyone,

It's about time I slowed down enough to "Thank" everyone for their messages of encouragement and support over the past couple of months. I've really enjoyed getting back together with you all. Thanks for your support and involvement with my "Elvis" gig. You all have been a blast! I wanted to thank those that took to the time to attend the show at the Royal Theater in Benton on July 12th. Caroline, I can't help but think of you each time I sing "your song"! I'm glad you enjoyed it! A REALLY BIG THANKS to the "crew" who came to Memphis for the Images of the King World Championship - Andy, Teresa, Sonia and her friend Donna, Kim and certainly not last, April. That meant more to me that any of you will ever know. I may have not won first place, but the People's Choice Award is the biggest honor that anyone who entertains could hope to receive. Thanks again for your support. God has truly blessed me with you guys. Ya'll Rock, Baby! I'll keep you posted about the contest in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, Sept 5,6,7. Pray for travel safety and that once again, God's will prevails!

Till then . . . Be Blessed,
Tony "Witt"
