03/05/09 02:14 PM #928     Kimberly B. Mordecai I am organizing a "Joe Cripps Encounter" for Tuesday, March 17th (St. Patrick's Day). Joe will be playing with Brave Combo at Maxine's in Hot Springs after the World's Shortest St. Patrick's Day parade. The Parade starts at 6pm, and Brave Combo will be taking the stage at 9pm. There is an event page on Facebook that you are welcome to join. If you are not on facebook, please email me if you would like to carpool/caravan/meet-up with the group.

03/08/09 10:18 AM #929     Bendi L. Darnell (Toland) I had an opportunity to finally go see Cindy Jackson Wilkerson in Benton. She is doing well at Grace Healthcare and seems to be improving slowly. It took her a few minutes to process who I was, but as you can see by the pictures she remembered! She truly needs encouragement from us. Please consider sending her a card to encourage her to keep getting stronger. The only person that she has in her life is her therapist "Ken". He has been a great for her. Tuesday, St. Patrick's Day, we are going to Hot Springs to see Joe Cripps play with Brave Combo at Maxine's on Central Ave. David Ballou has graciously offered to lead the carpool/caravan parade from the commuter lot in Bryant. He will be leaving the lot at 6:30 if you want to come along! That same night, Caroline will be joining the Mountain Lions in NWA for their MLNO. If you want to participate with them, message me and I'll hook you up. (Caroline will not have access to personal email while she is out of town) Saturday Night, March 21, is Lion's Night Out at Cajun's Wharf. We are expecting a big group...LNO has grown over the winter months and we've invited the other classes to join us. We are looking forward to seeing some of the classmates we've found via facebook, and I know everyone wants to see Stephanie Butler while she's in town. Hope to see you this week!!

03/19/09 08:18 AM #934     Lisa R. Lovell (Kimbrell) prayer request~~ my husband has been in the hospital for a week and they have found 3 different kinds of cancer. The doctor tells us to keep a positive outlook. So me and the kids just keep life simple and normal as possible.

We invited a few of other McClellan Alumni to this event and boy, did they come to Cajun's. Stephanie Butler and Don & Cristy Spann were in town for this event. Other attendees from our class were: Kim Mordecai, Gina Martin, April Hoyle, Teresa White, Sonia Coburn, Karen Davis, Jill Nisbett, Dana Smith, Caroline Taylor, Lisa Montgomery, Teressa Beasley, Andy Adams, Steve Leopard, Jeff Porter, Scott Campbell, Stan Ferguson, Wade Ledbetter, Don Heaton, Steve Poteet, David & Lisa Ballou, Reggie & Teresa Clow, Gus & Kristy Shuster and me. Class of 1982: Tom Draper, Ben Gibson, Steve Thomas, Steve Sullivan, and Vickie Sumnar. Class of 1984: Shelley Miller, Terri Slocum, Jamie Wilson, Andrea Lanham, Jennifer Killingsworth & husband, Kathy Gallagher & husband, Rhonda Dunlap & husband Shawn, Richard Piggott, Chris Pipkins, Greg Ellis, Clay Causey, and Barry Williams. Class of 1985: Shannon Morgan, Cindy Mote, and Gina Dunlap. Kristy Cantwell is married to Gus Shuster. Please forgive me if I left someone off. I did not know everyone there. There were a few from the Class of 1987, but I did not know them. Next time, I may need a "sign in sheet". LOL! I believe everyone had a great time. Some of us "shut down" Cajun's! My feet were hurting on Sunday from all the dancing we did. Also, my voice is still hoarse from talking so much. It was great seeing everyone! Some I have not seen for 20+ years! If Tony wins this one, he goes to Memphis for the finals. The guys that win this competition usually go on tour across the country and around the world. Sean Klush won in 2007 and toured Europe as well as the USA. So this will be a huge step in Tony's career. Tony Witt: Your future Ultimate Elvis Champion! Just think we can all say we knew him when his last name was longer.

Jeff (Kirk) Smith was our "surprise guest". I hope my classmates did not mind my "not-so-drunk dialing" that night! LOL! I was able to get a hold of and enjoyed talking to: Tim Neas, Lisa Montgomery, and Karen Davis. I left messages for several classmates! We missed you guys! Other attendees were: Kim Mordecai, Elizabeth Reves, Caroline Taylor, Dena Speer, Ricky Marshall, Gina Martin, April Hoyle, John Bowen, and me. Derrick Rose (Class of '82) made an appearance, too. This will be a great opportunity to see him playing a different style of music than he plays with Brave Combo, and he would love to see his old friends from high school. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. on 4/27/09. Funeral servcies will be held at 10:30 a.m. on 4/28/09. Both services will be held at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home, 10200 Hwy. 5 North, Alexander, AR; 501-455-1067. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
