Jean Switzer McGrath

After finishing BS in Nursing at SUNY Plattsburgh in 1971 I moved to Boston until 1974. Met Dennis McGrath from Yonkers. We married in Lockport in 1975 and moved to Westchester where I continued employment as a home care nurse. After our children were born we built a home in Cross River(also in Westchester) I returned to NYU in 1988 and earned an MPA in Health care Administration in 191. Dennis and I separated in 1992 and eventually divorced. I worked for New York Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattanfrom 1995 until 1999. In 1999 I met Ron Gugliotta, a contractor, We planned to wed. However, in 2002 I suffered a devastating stroke. I remain paralyzed, essentially, on my left side.Now I am retired and on disability. Ron has hung in there with me. I wish it weren't so, but there is a silver lining. I have come to know the Lord in a powerful way and am, once again, as my family heritage proscribed, become very active in the local Methodist Church. Can you believe it? I'm still good friends with Becky (Tolhurst)- Smith and we each attended the other's daughter's wedding. My Dad turned ninety this past January and I went to his birthday party in Florida, where he winters. My brother Glen livesclose to him in Florida and hosted the party.

Probably my favorite memories are:"Cheaper by the Dozen" freshman year at Belknap,"Stardust" sophomore year,"Tom Jones" junior year, and the one senior year (which I can't remember the name of-but I was Nancy Willard)
