Joe enlisted out high school in the U.S .Army following in the foot steps of his dad, Big Joe, a Korean War Vet. He was stationed in Germany and attained the rank of Specialist 4. He worked for Sureway Express for 20+ yrs. before before being hired for the U.S. Postal Service. He married a neighborhood girl Marie Salvi and headed west for the hills of Pennsylvania where he and Marie raised their three children Joey, Meghan and Kathleen. He is also survived by his younger brother Jeffrey and sister Maryanne who followed him out to PA. The official cause of death was heart failure, but anyone that knew Joe knew the real reason. The human heart and soul can take only so much joy and sorrow. When you saw Joe on the street and you smiled, his smile doubled yours! when he saw you concerned about something he wouldn't let you go till you spilled it out and he helped you find a solution, advice, money, whatever it was. But when you were grieving, my Lord, he would hold you till your tears became his and he shared his strength with you to help you cope. I will miss my friend till we meet again, but I feel sorry for anyone that never met this kind soul, it is truly this worlds loss. John Pertell
