Brian Douglas Wood, 53, of San Jose, Calif., died Nov. 20, 2013, at home as the result of a heart attack.

He was born April 16, 1960, in Longview, to Nicolee “Nick” and Judith “Judy” (Nehl) Wood and graduated from Mark Morris High School in 1978. Brian attended Reed College before serving four years in the Coast Guard as a sonar technician. He was stationed in Seattle, Alaska and San Diego.

Brian co-founded C2 Company in Foster City, Calif., offering Internet firewall protection to numerous companies. He enjoyed traveling, making stained glass, polishing gemstones, making jewelry, skiing, canoeing, remote control planes and cars, and BMW automobiles. He was intelligent, curious, loving and generous.

He married Yvonne Marie Enrico May 6, 1981. She survives him at home. Also surviving are a sister, Christina Wood, and her husband, Paul Rawlins of Vancouver; two brothers and a sister-in-law, David Wood and Kevin and Didi Wood, all of Longview; his parents, Nicolee and Judith Wood of Longview; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Brian was preceded in death by two brothers, Greg Wood and Pete Wood; and his grandparents, John and Helen Wood, and Pete and Mary Nehl.

A burial of his ashes is planned for 11 a.m. April 12 at Cowlitz View Memorial Gardens, 1535 Mount Brynion Road, in Kelso. All friends and family are invited to celebrate Brian’s life during an open house reception from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday in Vancouver. For directions, call 360-571-0145 or 360-423-1655.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Lima Family Mortuary, San Jose, Calif.
