Denise Grendon -

Dear MMHS 1978 Classmates,

I have very sad news to More…share with you.

Denise Grendon passed away this past Monday morning 3/10/25.  Scott Dills let me know right away.  Scott, our fellow classmate and longtime partner of Denise, loved Denise very much and took great good care of her.  Scott said it was Denise’s wish not to have any notification of her passing.  I’m sorry, but Denise you are too important to not be remembered.  You were such a big part of our class.  I can’t believe we were just talking a few weeks ago and now you are gone.  I will remember you as my 9th grade girlfriend.  You broke up with me for an 8th grader and that gave us a laugh every time we talked about it for the last 50 years.  I will remember you as one of our wonderful and pretty cheerleaders.  I will remember your smile and your kindness right up to the end.  I know life has been hard for you these past years, but your love for your family and Scott sustained you.  I know I will see you again in Heaven and we can laugh and tell stories once again.  
I must tell one story for anyone who didn’t really know Denise well.  “Big” Rod Hill one of our classmates passed away in 2005.  Rod and I had always stayed very close over the years.  I spoke at his celebration of life service.  I was very choked up while speaking about Rod.  After the service Denise came up to comfort me.  I thanked her for taking time out of her life to come celebrate Rod’s life.  Rod had spent his last days at St. John’s Hospital with full expectations that he would be released and get to go home.  Rod mentioned that Denise had come to visit him during his time in the hospital.  When I mentioned that to Denise and how much that meant to Rod she smiled and said she went every day.  That is the Denise I will always remember. Denise, you will be missed.

I just wanted to post a quick note to let everyone from our class that we lost Denise Grendon Monday March 10th. I sent Darren a really nice FB post her oldest son wrote this morning. Darren will have a notification for our classmates.
We were fortunate enough to have each other's unconditional love for nearly 6 years before her 16 yr battle with CML Leukemia and pneumonia took her to God. I'll see you in heaven my love. ??????
