Rachel Fischer (Daugherty)
The month of October was like a "bipolar" month. Oct 6, my oldest turned 16 and received his permit. Oct 7, mom passed after a long stuggle with cancer. Oct 21 would have been mom's birthday and was the same day we left for my sister's wedding. Oct. 24, Sarah married James in the Fl Keys. Then Halloween. What a month. We are now getting some normalcy back in our lives. Mom was cremated, so we have yet to scatter her ashes; hard to get everyone together. Yes, scattering is not encouraged by the Catholic church, but that is what mom wanted. Her service was wonderful. Fr. said he had never met someone so "thrilled" to receive last rites. But she had seen the "light" earlier in life and wasn't afraid of death. Sarah's wedding was absolutely beautiful, except for having lost mom a couple of weeks prior. It was like a huge family vacation. My older 2 did see their first sharks while scuba diving. Glad I wasn't there. Sarah's bulldog was her flower girl and it was cute. They had fireworks and everything was just perfect. Her new bro-in-law apparently is famous in Sweden. He has a music group that genre is "noise." It reminds me of running nails on a chalkboard, but I guess some people like that. See what you think. They are on itunes; the group is Wolf Eyes. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and Christmas.
