Reunion Booklet

Thanks so much to Jeanne Hathaway for putting together our reunion booklet.  You can download & print it yourself.  Ted has put a tab in red on the left "50th Reunion Directory."  For those who don't have internet access, Martha is going to have a few copies printed and they will be available for purchase at cost at the dinner dance.

You are super kind, Heather, but it was fun to catch up with everyone via their profiles.  Besides, everyone should know that it was Ted Witte that put together the architecture for this, not me.  I just embellished, or as a friend of mine used to say, "embroidered around the edges."  Anyway, everyone should also know that I just updated the downloadable version with the latest changes through today, and Ted will probably post this final version in lieu of the one that's there now later today or tomorrow.  So if you want the latest version wait a day or so to download.  See y'all later this week!

I'm so sorry I won't  be at the reunion - but it was wonderful spending hours looking through the postings of where everyone is and what they are doing.  Thanks Jeanne, Ted, Heather - and all of you guys who have been working so hard on this.  I'll be following along and enjoying the reunion in absentia.  :-)  Perri

I have been looking forward to seeing my friends. All arrangements are made. And now it happens that I must attend a funeral in New York. I will have to miss the party.

You have my very best regards. I regret having to miss this contact.

I thoroughly enjoyed seeing many of you last week.  I felt so young a vibrant talking to you all!!  All of the fun without the teenaged angst!   Have a wonderful time this week .

Martha, you are a wonderful committee chairman, in command without being bossy, go girl.

Yes, Emma, I left my sweater there.  Give it to anyone who needs one...or you could come see me in San Diego and bring it with you.  :-)

Elly, look for your present the first part of July.  I haven't forgotten.  :-))

Have good time.  I will see you in 2018!

Ruth

I see lemon cheese cake in my future!  All who attend Rust Control meetings know what this means: a big YUM.  And with Meyer lemons, yet!

Hi "Old" Friends,

My brother-in-law passed away today, so I'm in Frankfort, now, with my sister, Rosalee.  I was looking forward to the dinner and the opportunity to reconnect with you all.  Enjoy the time together.  I'll miss you and send my best.

 Love,

Claudia

We missed you, Claudia!  So sorry for the sad circumstances that kept you from joining us.  Maybe you could make a Rust Control event at some point.  Now that the fabulous 50th reunion is over, we'll be able to get together, enjoy great company and NOT work!!!!

Claudia,

So sorry to hear about your loss. We had good attendance to some entertaining events.

Hope you can join us for a casual meeting of the RUST group that gathers for dinner at least quarterly.

Marcy

Hey Guys,

I sure appreciate your sweet comments. Rosalee also felt comforted by your words. I would have loved seeing you all again.  Glad to hear the weekend was well attended and, of course, lots of fun.  The Rust Control group sure put together a fine reunion.  I'll show up at one of those monthly meetings on the next trip to Louisville.  Now that I will be retired from The Rectory School at the end of this month, I'll be freer to take those trips.

Hatha, please let me know when you're in Boston.  I'll be there!

Hugs around.

Thanks everyone for a great reunion! The Rust Control group did a great job.  Sorry that I could not attend more than the Friday evening reception.

Ted - I think the reunion would not have been nearly as successful without the web site that you designed and managed.

Sara - thanks very much for hosting us Friday night.  And thank John for putting up with us for the evening.

Jeanne - thanks for putting together the reunion booklet.  I printed a copy and made notes on it while flying home.

Elly - thanks for challenging yourself to more math and being treasurer of the group.

I cannot remember the tasks that others took on, but thanks to everyone.

John

Many, many thanks to the entire Rust Control Group for the outstanding job on the reunion! I can only imagine the hard work that was required to pull this huge event together. I missed the last reunion, so it had been ten years since I had seen everyone and it was so much fun and interesting to "catch up" especially with folks I didn't know that well at Waggener. I think our teachers would be quite proud of how well the Class of 63 turned out - truly an exceptional group. Now as one of the Ogle twins (I still can't tell them apart) commented, "Stay alive, I'll see you in 5". 2018 will be here before we know it it.

Congratulations to the Rust Control/reunion committee for a job well done.  You really nailed it.  In fact, I think you  should  consider going into  business organizing reunions for other  area high schools!  Thanks  for an enjoyable weekend.

I just wanted to thank everyone involved with the planning of our reunion.  I will admit that since I had not been to any of the other reunions, I was a little leary about seeing all these people that I had not seen for 50!!!!!! years. I really enjoyed the evening and hearing stories from Marti Speer and Jim Bruther that I do not remember at all. I wish everyone well until 2018. Thanks again.

Martha May (McCarthy)

Hi All,

Thanks so much to everyone who worked VERY hard to make sure that our 50th reunion was terrific!  It was wonderful to visit with old friends at the Boat Club, but the evening seemed to fly by.  Some people I barely greeted, and others I never got to talk with at all!  I definitely will plan on attending more of the reunion events in 2018!!

Until then, very best wishes to everyone!

Cheers, Martha (May)

Thanks, of course, to the hard work of  RUST Control, we made it to the 50th.  Despite the years, there was plenty of luster shining through.  It was great to reconnect with high school friends and their spouses, as well as to make new friends as we share this journey of our various stages of retirement. Let's stay in touch.

What a wonderful reunion!  I so enjoyed seeing everyone I spoke with and regret that I missed finding some of you. Thanks so much for all the work of the reunion committee.  I will take up the cry of Stay Alive, See You in Five!

Mary Pat Spencer (Hankla)

I had a wonderful time at the reunion.  Even Scott Hankla had a good time.  I am sorry that I didn't manage to greet everyone who was there, but I promise to do better in 2018.  It was amazing to me to see how little peoples' personalities and talents had changed, though I sensed a pleasant mellowness and tolerance that seems new.  Perhaps that comes with living long enough to celebrate your 50th high school reunion.  Anyway, it was a marvelous gathering.  Thank everyone who worked so hard to make it happen, and I'm already looking forward to the 55th (and all the fun RUST meetings that wil be "required" to plan it).

Cheers,

Mary Pat
