The Voice Tribune has lots of pictures from the reunion cocktail party on their web site:  http://www.voice-tribune.com/galleries/weekly/waggener-high-school-class-of-63-reunion/

Thanks so much to Sara and John for the lovely party!

Great thanks to the reunion committee for all their hard work and a very successful reunion. I am sorry I was only able to attend the bridge walk but what a wonderful experience to reconnect with so many people.

Judy Tydings (Whiteley)

From Judy Tydings Whiteley:  I am not computer literate to find another way to ask this question in another place so here it is at this location.  Could someone tell me if there is a way to get a copy of our class picture?  Is that still available?  Who is the contact person?  What is the cost?  If orders were taken at the dinner, I was not aware of it.  I would like to have a copy of this picture as a keep sake memory of our reunion.  I am so happy that I made the decision to attend the reunion.  It was great to see and catch up with many of you.  Many thanks to the those who put in long hours to put this 50 year reunion together.

Thanks to all of you who took the time to post your pictures on the web sight!  I just spent a lovely afternoon enjoying them.

The reunion committee is having a wrap up meeting next week .....if you have any suggestions or ideas for our 55th.....let us know.

Judy...not sure about the class picture, I'll check around and let you know!

Talked to Glen Anderson yesterday as he wanted a copy of the reunion booklet to send to Ben Averitt who is living in the Lexington, KY area.  Martha Robertson Puckett had some hard copies printed at Kinkos but sold them all at the reunion.  You can download the directory free and print it up.  Ted has a selection "50th Reunion Directory" listed on the left side of the home page.  When I printed one up before it was finalized, it was 82 pages.  I'm too dense to do 2 sided printing.

Anyway, Mr. Averitt is still in contact with Glen.

Ben Averitt!  He was--and still is, I'm sure--one of the wonderful teachers at Waggener. He knew how to instruct, to praise, and to encourage. And his sense of humor lit up the place.  Glen, if you read this, please wish him well for me. I'm so glad to hear that he's on the planet!  Best wishes to you, too.  Susan (Rumble) Snively

I'm so glad to hear that the reunion committee decided to keep the website going for the next 5 years until the next reunion.  It's good to stay in touch more often that every 5 years. Thinking about living in the Brown Hotel so I can attend reunion meetings--hmmm...

So glad that you signed on for Mr. Averitt.  From looking at all the profiles, he was the most popular teacher at Waggener.  Please tell him hello from me.

Of course, Ben Averitt was right-the finest students did go to Waggener! Yvonne and I just got a copy of the Reunion Directory in the mail to him. Yvonne got it copied at a local printer who produced a nicer and less expensive copy than printing the download.

We had a nice meal with Ben and Naomi along the Kentucky River, then the sky opened up and treated us to thunderous nearby lightning and heavy rain. Back at their farm, we were shown a number of African artifacts and pictures, including paintings by his friend, Joy Adamson (of "Born Free" fame). Whereas we have a small bathroom with African paintings and artifacts from our travels, he has an entire house filled with items from having resided in both southern and (after Waggener)eastern Africa. Kip and Mary Spragens also visited with the Averitts before flying home.

This just in from Marilyn Myers Melton:

"A classmate, Linda Spence Chute,  of Danville, ky., passed away on November 5, 2013 due to an immediately terminal form of meningitis.  ( Her husband contacted me yesterday.  They were just beginning a cruise when it hit and she was airlifted to Mexico. Then airlifted to Lexington although having to land in Houston, Texas due to coding. She was pronounced dead. Her last wishes were to donate her body to medical research, which was done in Houston.  Her husband is a pastor in Danville, Ky.)"

I returned home from having heart surgery yesterday.  so the congenital problem that kept me out of Viet Nam (valve a and aortic root problem) has its revenge.  This is an epxerience that you don't want to have, unless you need it in which there is some very good medical technology in the world to help you live longer.
