Lynnetta could always brighten a room with her smile. I am so blessed to have had her as a friend in my life. We were in dance class together and now she is dancing the biggest dance of her life! She will forever be in my heart!
Lynnetta went peacefully from this earth to be with her Heavenly Father on May 11, 2004. Lynnetta was born on March 6, 1972, in Snyder to the late Orville Lynn Schwartz and Janet Denise Early Schwartz. She underwent very aggressive treatment to fight this disease for more than two years. During her battle with cancer, she was given the highest quality of care by the amazing staffs of The Joe Arrington Cancer Center, Baylor Medical Center of Dallas, Rational Therapeutics of Long Beach, Calif., and Hospice of Lubbock. Lynnetta exemplified grace under pressure and lived by the motto, "bloom where you are planted." She was an inspiration to all who knew her.

God bless you all! Sonya, thank you for posting her obituary. I have not told many but, this seems like the right time to tell you all that Lynnetta wrote her own obituary with my help just one week before her death. It was just like her to expect that I would screw it up and only she could get it right. It was the best and worst hour of my life spent with her. She was an amazing example of grace under pressure during her final days on Earth. She made me go with her to select her grave site, funeral home, casket, and flowers to make sure they would fit her 'style.' I was truly blessed to have spent so many wonderful years with her as a husband, co-parent, and friend.
I knew Lynetta in high school but I got to know her even better in graduate school. Our offices were right next to each other. I remember when she was pregnant ... she was so full of life and so excited about the upcoming birth. I also went to the baby shower. I have often thought about you and your daughter. I'm sure she is as beautiful as ever, and I know that you must love her beyond measure.
I will remember Lynetta as the strong, vibrant, and courageous woman that she was. I have never known someone who faced her circumstances with such hope and determination and the ability to touch everyone around her. She also succeeded in passing on these qualities to her daughter and making sure that her legacy as a mother lived on forever.
Lynetta, you will be missed at the reunion, but we know you are in a better place and decked out in black and gold!
