It is pretty cool. There are also other things that can be added to the site. Chat rooms, video capability, slide shows, etc. All these cost extra though, but maybe down the road we can talk about that!

Hey Lorie,
I remember a couple of outreaches we did, we talked to Sundrop and the other bottlers there in Tullahoma and they either donated a drink fountain or it was reasonly priced and we could probably get one to the park. We might have to ask the Tims Ford folks if they have any problems with that. If if works for you guys, I don't mind to check on that. I was kindof wondering what kind of volume we might be looking at though, probably a couple hundred people???? If I can help with anything , let me know, C

This site automatically tracks how many will attend each event. We have to get our people on it and registered though! After that we can get a more accurate count. We are working as fast as we can on that! More and more people are joining on a daily basis so maybe we can get a number pretty soon!

Hey All Ya'll,
......That is mountain southern for "the whole bunch of you." I had my church lady wheels turning and thought I would throw a line out there....I do not mind setting up a spread sheet and organizing the sides/dessert/drink component of the family meal at Tim's Ford. I have worked on menus where I prayed it through and God provided the "fishes and the loaves," but I was thinking I am just now beginning to realize all of "our" fishes and loaves, so what do you guys think about sharing your favorite dish (Kindof like when you do potluck at church) but centering around the traditional fish fry, like, my Mama makes the best slaw...the only slaw I will actually eat...so does my Aunt Wilma...she makes a mean Jack Daniel's Derby pie as well. Anyway, part of my fun in life has been centered around food and fellowship (I figure if Jesus traditionally taught parables that way, there might be something to it). Send me your thoughts and I will start the spreadsheet. As soon as I learn this system a bit better... I will post thoughts and the list and it will all come together by the time we do. Blessings, Cindy

Hey Lorie! Thank you so much for taking the time to set up such an awesome web site! Look forward to seeing everyone in July. Will be glad to help if you need it. I live out-of-town, but will be glad to do what I can to make it easier on you.

We are trying to make this a financially easy reunion, so ideas for decs have been thrown around. If you could get some articles of news events, fashion, movies, music, scandals, etc. that happened in the eighties or even just 1989 and send them to me I would greatly appreciate it. Just mail them to Lorie Austin 1621 Turkey Creek Church Road Tullahoma TN 37388. Anything you could dig up would be great!

Lorie Garner (Austin)

In response to Cindy and the recipe idea, I think it's great. I make a mean slaw myself! I love to share recipes and would be more than happy to make a little book to send to everyone of the recipes we get if anyone is interested in that.

03/14/09 05:11 PM #11

Dovie Hardin (Moses)

You got it! Will see what I can dig up and send your way.
Wonder what ever happened to all that stuff from Prom- the black and silver stuff? Could that be incorporated in somehow or would that be silly? I mean, by no means recreate the night or anything,(Yikes!) but there might be misc. stuff to use. If I had to guess whereabouts, I'd say Gerry Fanning. Anyway, will find articles etc. on current events of '89 and let you know!

03/15/09 01:59 PM #12

Lorie Garner (Austin)

I don't think our prom stuff is a bad idea-even if it's just a few things I think we could incorporate it into everything we are doing! Great thinking.

Hey, Just let me know how I can help. July is fine with me. I would love to do something outside so the kids can play and we can eat and talk.

Cindy Davenport (Chadwell)

He Ya'll,
This site really is fun once you begin jumping through it. As I was thinking about Dana's response, I thought if some of us have access to a football or a dodgeball or maybe some bubbles and those little face stickers...I think I have a box of face stickers from a healthfair we did. I will check it out. Anyway, thoughts to make it a fun day for our younguns too. My children are wide open and love to play on playgrounds and play pretend but they also seem to love to be beneath my feet or climbing atop my head and I can envision a plate of baked beans where I am not sure I want them. Blessings, Cindy

Cindy Davenport (Chadwell)

Ya'll,
I am setting up a spreadsheet to organize the sides, desserts, and drinks for the Tim's Ford lunch. Some of the suggestions are as follows and we can do some or all of them depending on the desire of the majority: (slaw: mild or hot varieties, pasta salad, potato salad, baked beans, macaroni and cheese, chips, condiments (tartar/cocktail sauce) Potentially adding some hot dogs (buns, ketchup, mustart, mayo) and/or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the children. If you can think of any others that are not here, let me know and I will finalize the list.
Thoughts for the drinks:
A. setting up a fountain
B. A bunch of coolers with everyone bringing a couple of six packs of water, soda, sunny D.....whatever the desire of your heart is.
C. gallons of tea and lemonade (sugar/sugar free) which is probably the most economical
Dessert: your favorite that you always share with friends, family, and fellowship that you can share the recipe (Give to Lorie) and we can work on a 20 year MCHS Class of 89 (backside kicking memory) that helps us hold on to memories of each other. It is also kindof fun in those books to add a memory or a special thing that MCHS or our time together meant to you.
I have to tell you guys as we (John and I) have wrestled with God's calling on our family, where our children have been educated and who we allow to educate them has been the biggest challenge for us to pray through so I just want all of you to know how much I appreciate you especially now...We could get into anything that might have been a hint mischievious or not...no pressure.,,,Please email me at cindyc@dayspringfhc.com if you have thoughts not listed or if you want to work together on this. I have heard from some of you already and am so excited to be seeing you soon. Blessings, Cindy

That's a great idea! Just make sure it gets posted on the site and we get something in the paper closer to time! Great thinking Marsha!

I think inviting faculty and students from other classes would be a great idea. There are so few of us anyway, and we were all friends with people from other classes as well as faculty. As a matter of fact, I saw Ms. Grant today (although she is Mrs. Davis now). She was asking about so many of us that she had in her class. She could not believe it had been 20 years!!! I told her about the reunion and asked if she might be interested and she said she would absolutely love it. She has been fighting breast cancer for the last year. All is well right now, she started teaching again this past January. She said she would love to catch up with us, just to get her the info.

I can sign people in as guests on the site. If someone can get a list together for me of faculty and classmates that didn't actually graduate with us, I'll make sure they can get onto the site and get all the information and invites. The ones that don't get onto the site we will have to mail invites to-same as the classmates that don't make it to the site. If someone could start a list we can get it done! I'm still working on initial contacts for classmates! Yikes! I ran into Ms. Eady (4th grade) in Walmart Saturday. She still looks the same, but informed me she was 79! I could not believe it! She too said she could not believe it had been 20 years. She would also consider coming.

I will be happy to get emails for the faculty. I can get that from Faye or Karen. I will send them to you as soon as I can.

Greg Durm talked to Dewayne and told him about the reunion. He said he probably would not be able to attend, but I will send him an official invite anyway.

I have added the first 15 names as guests. I can get a few of the ones on the next 15 you have listed-like Ms. Thompson lives down the road from me, I see Coach Burton and Ms. Burton all the time in Camino, Abby is in the same grade as Ms. Dean's great grandson, etc. Anyway, I will put a bug in Amber's ear to let Ms. Petty know about the site and hopefully that will help get the word out (she has Ms. Petty for homeroom). Invites will be e-mailed to all also. THANK YOU!!!
