Memorial Day wkend doesn't work for me and my family. We will be at my wife's 20th reunion in Pennsylvania. If you guys choose then I don't mind helping plan but I will not be in attendance.

Wow! Look at what has happened in my absence. I have been superbusy and will be for about the next several weeks.

I got this information in an email today and was reminded that I was to search for inexpensive cruise opportunities.

http://leisure.travelocity.com/Promotions/0,,TRAVELOCITY|4806|cruises_main,00.html?WA1=03010&WA2=208464417&WA3=30578918&WA4=0&WA6=536661;

There were 3 night cruises as low as $99 on this list and I thought it would be a good idea to share these specials with the group...even if some wanted to use the special fares for events outside of our "reunion" plans.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone and who knows, we may decide to get together more frequently than every 20 years or so if we have a good event!

WOW YOU-ALL DON'T MESS AROUND...IN THE COURSE OF PLANNING I THINK YOU-ALL MAY HAVE SOLVED THE CURRENT FINANCIAL CRISIS.

IS IT OK TO SAY, AS MONEY IDEAS ARE BEING THROWN AROUND...YOU-ALL ARE GOOD PEOPLE, BUT I JUST WANNA SEE YOU-ALL, HAVE A FEW LAUGHS, AND GO HOME...AND CHECK OUT THE NEWS TO SEE WHAT PRESIDENT OBAMA HAS TO SAY...

...BOATS?
...DANCING?
...CHURCH?
...I GUESS.

...THOUGH I DON'T KNOW HOW I FEEL ABOUT PUTTING OUT MUCH MONEY 'TO MEET AND HOPE I DID AS WELL AS MY CLASSMATES.' I'M WORKING ON POSSIBLE RESPONSES TO THE QUESTION, "WHAT DID YOU WIND UP DOING AS AN ADULT."

P.S. I HEARD ERIK KIRKLAND IS IN VEGAS--IS THAT TRUE?

What if we planned our class reunion around those dates? Did our dinner cruise that Saturday night? We'd have to do a lot less planning, since the school would provide the PLACE, SPEAKER, and a good crowd. If we did the dinner cruise, we could open it up to the classes of 88 and 90, just sending them an email inviting them to participate in the cruise. Awaiting your thoughts!

That might work Harold. Way to go LAU/LAAA etc.

works for me. but i wonder if they are planning other activities too. they might conflict with what we would want to do. anyone know?

Love the idea of Alumni weekend. Would make plans much easier. I agree we should check out the schedule so as not to conflict with other activities. Still want to do the dinner cruise.

Eric Carcellero wrote me this:
That sounds fine to me. . . it might be more fun to see the members of
other classes as well.
Do we know where they want to hold it?

Thanks,
Eric

I am down with having it in March 2009 and I like having our 20th reunion with LAAA...also inviting 88 and 90 is a good idea too. Going on the dinner cruise is a nice suggestion and would be fun to do. I am flexible, keep me updated.

Hello all, i recently spoke to someone at LAAA and they told me the Alumni weekend is a homecoming and will include people back to the inception of the school. They are expecting approx 1000 people. It is supposed to be BIG! They are asking for alumni to become charter members for a a fee of $100 until the end of the year. The fee increases to $150 after. These donations are supposed to help with planning the whole affair. Anyone interesteed in helping to plan it can attend a mtg. on December 7th from 10-12 at the school.
Sounds like they will be going all out. If you have any questions email me at music4den@yahoo.com and I will forward the info to you. Can't figure out how to attach it here.

Hey Denise,
Well, if we plan our class reunion around LAAA's wkend then we wouldn't pay their fee, it's free to attend. We would pay our fees to our class to plan our Sat. ngt event and Sunday affair.

Ok, in addition to sending the reunion email to all of us, I sent it to the following ppl. If you don't see a name and you have their email address PLEASE forward the email to them: Rachel Howzell, David Hall, Alvin Clavon, Sherilyn Flowers, Loren Samuel, Darryl Saunders, Twila Smith, Roxanne Fagan, Gretchen Howzell, Duania Hall, Kemba Bell, Tashiya Anderson, Robert Nolan, Richard Bell, Laurice Johns, Jeanine Smith, Carla Copeland, Alyson Sneed

Hey Harold and Party Planners,

I know Alvin Clavon also lives in Las Vegas because I saw him on the news a while back . . . something about his house having mold and issues with the contractors who built certain homes in Vegas.

I will see if I can look him up.
Did someone say Erik Kirkland is also in Vegas?

This is really nice of you to plan this Harold. With the economy, I am still pulling funds together and trying to plan for travel to graduations and funerals, seminars, continuing education, and now the class reunion. I have to really take a look at my budget. I don't want to say no, because it would be great to see everyone. For now, I am saying I will attend since I don't have to give any money right now... but when is the Money DUE. Is there a way I can pay two installments to enable spreading the love around(smile). Need to discuss my finances going into the new year with my husband. Sorry for the delay, but this is why I haven't responded until on this end. Look forward to seeing everyone.

Hi, I talked for alongtime tonite with Darise monroe, she planned a reunion 10 yrs ago, it was 7 classes. I went to it. Anyways, she has contact info for most members of her class and she's going to start calling me in the evenings giving the phone numbers of the '88 class members. Karen/Denise if she does that, can you start calling those ppl, just to mention the reunion and to get their email addy? She said what we had planned as far as the cruise was definately DOABLE & that she'd definately participate in what we do. She said from her planning experience that if our cruise is on Mar 14, by Mar 1st the "floodgates" would open and we'd probably have to turn ppl away!!!! She said most ppl are last minute, even though they've known about it for 6 mths. So talking to her was encouraging but, I can tell you right now. I won't put up no deposit, with only 20 ppl saying they'll participate!!!!

I just read Eric Carcellero's memory story. That was FUNNY! Oh my goodness! I think I remember that too, Eric.

Okay, both Brendon AND Perry said they fainted during Lynnaire's performances. What is up with that? How hard were you guys really singing? Dang! I don't remember any of those times!
