NCHS Alumni:

Tired of not having anything to do after football games? Tired of going to the same old places? Tired of having no reason to return home? Well, Alumni, come out and party in a grown and sexy atmosphere with your fellow Alumni and the class of '98, as they celebrate their 10-year reunion during the first Alumni Party to hit NCHS.

Everyone over 21 is expected to be there; and so far, we've received RSVP's from the Class of '85 through the Class of '03. There will be a cash bar, door prizes, gift cards, and many opportunities for alumni to reconnect, reunite, and reminisce. Also, we will elect our own “Alumni King and Queen” from amongst the crowd; and the class (excluding ’98) with the most alumni in attendance will be rewarded. All friends and family members of NCHS are welcomed. Security will be provided.

If you plan to attend please RSVP with your name and class year at ctbrown1@hotmail.com . Also, please forward this email to other classmates/alumni. See the attachment for details.

Thanks in advance,

Class of '98

What up everybody??? I have finally started to get settled after what is the most difficult move in history! Is anyone planning on going to the upcoming Alumni party??? I encourage everyone that can attend to be there. I hear it's gonna be something special. My plan is to try and get in touch with as many people as I can soon now that it's easier (and cheaper) to get in contact. Luv ya'll.

Hello everyone,

The time for our reunion is fastly approaching. We don't want time to pass us by. Our class has alot of creative potential I think that is time to get the ball rolling no matter who, where, or when someone takes charge!

Laphilbia Smith (Katerra)

Hi Latonya, I do agree about the planning and everything for our class reunion. I am fine either way it goes. This is just a suggestion, only a suggestion. Since this is our first one and we are pushing for time. I think we should have it in Columbus and make it a three day event. I say Columbus because you have more people in this area to assign committees to and check on things. More people will be able to pay their deposits because facilities book up easily and if you want to reserve them you have to pay a deposit. Once we have the first one then the committees will be more organized to plan it somewhere else. I will be more than willing to help in any way I can. This is just a suggestion though, the burg will be fine with me as well. Excuse the errors and everything I am typing fast and did get a chance to read over it.

Hello Everyone,

I do agree that time is approaching fast and we need to come together and pick a place. It does not matter with me. I just hope it’s nice. We all are grown-up now. We can’t please everyone. There always goings to be someone who’s not happy or got something to say.

Latonya needs all our help. There are a lot of places to go like Meridian, Jackson, and Hattiesburg.
Call me at 662-251-7496 cell. I am will to help.

Thanks Classmates

Just to update everyone----STARKVILLE, MS is the anticipated location for the reunion. I believe Derrian and Aya have jointly agreed on this location as of my email contact with Aya on 1/1/2009. So I put the brakes on phone calls and emailing to venues in Hattiesburg. Which is great because locally it will allow classmates to jump in at the last minute (just a figure of speech, let's hope not the very last minute- LOL).

My apologies to Celetia again- I didn't foresee the hardships with communicating some may have. I was naive and concluded that everyone knew it was okay to give your opinion, disagree, and the consensus rules.

So thank you all for being behind me but Starkville is the destination picked so lets give our all to it.

So DERRAIN, AYA, GENICE - WE are ready, willing, and able...DIRECT US.

I agree that Straksville or Hattiesburg is a great place and just a suggestion what about an all white or black dress code, but its a just a suggestion and also what month are we wanting to set the reunion for. I hope all goes well and I just want everyone to have a great time and yeah I think 2 or 3 days for the reunion is also good, but let's all of us get together and make this reunion the best ever. I live in Meridian and will be more than happy to do whatever is needed.

Hello,

When I sent out the notice about the class meeting next Saturday; Steve Brown, Khrishawna Patterson and Cassandra Rice emails bounceback, so if anyone communicates with these classmates please let them know about the meeting.

Thanks!

Deadric Williams

Greeting everyone!

I hope all is well. As many of you may already know, I (thanks to Genice lol)am "team leader" for activities and programs for the reunion. With that said, the wheels for the reunion are starting to roll. Many of you have voiced concern with October as the month for the reunion. Although I understand the concerns, planning an October reunion was said to give enough time to reserve buildings, etc., and to present a tentative budget in a respectable amount of time. Nevertheless, I am working diligently around the clock to see what places are available in the GTR area. Genice has given me a couple of suggestions already. To this end, I am soliciting any additional suggestions. I REALLY want to see all of you and I am willing to do whatever it takes to see that happen. Please email me (deadric_2000@yahoo.com) or call me (662-418-6799).

Lastly, if the majority of the class want to move the date up (e.g, summer months) please let me know as I am looking at venues that will accommodate us for a possible June or July reunion.

Latonya Ramsey (Chandler)

Hello Class of "99"

I would like to answer some questions and ask some questions that have been addressed to me and those that are just floating around in some of our heads. I have found it very hard to explain my view in such a way that would not demolish some of our egos. So I have concluded that I am just going to be straightforward and give my opinion. It may be too much for some of us to handle but here we go!!!!

When dealing with a large group such as our class, there needs to be a systematic way of making decisions and coming to conclusions.

No one person can have their way on how things are going with the reunion plans. If this was the case, I would have had my way with planning in Florida or others would have had their way in planning anywhere else they wanted. Even with voting, the absentee ballots (word of mouth) ruled on a local venue. I could have RAISED HELL because I did not get my way but that is not me. My priority is not getting my way but seeing my classmates at a (any) reunion. So because of my priority, I vowed to do what I can to see a reunion happen no matter where it is. So my question to us is- What's our priority?

THERE ARE A LOT OF CHANCES AND WAYS TO BE INCLUDED. SOME CANNOT SAY they have not been given the chance to be included in giving their opinion or voting upon the decisions that need to be made regarding our class reunion.

Simply because we have this website, we have reunion meeting dates, we have cellphones or word of mouth, and we NOW HAVE COMMITTEE TEAMS. My opinion is that the website and the reunion meetings would be the best way to get the majority vote on reunion matters. I feel when you have cellphones or word of mouth being the method of voting- you will always have those that (because they did not vote on the website or vote at a meeting) push the reunion planning backwards instead of forward. We go back to including people's point of view or their inputs two weeks later when we should have collaborated and took those things into consideration that week back, at that reunion meeting, and on the website. So my question to us is- Do we really want to see a 10-year reunion or do we just want to string those who are about planning this thing along just to keep B.S. going?

Finally, at our first reunion meeting we had over 30 class members to attend. On the second meeting we had 5 members to attend. On the third meeting we had 10 members to attend.

Let me start by saying, that I am not knocking anyone who sincerely had a time or date conflict with the reunion meetings because we all have other lives to lead. But- it will not be my concern when we do not show up to a meeting because "my friend is not going to go", or I hear something said "they just making decisions on their own so I am not going, or something said " I don't care what they doing" or something sadi "I don't want to register on the site or vote.......................and those of us who said those things come back a week later complaining about the decision that has been made without them because IT WAS YOUR CHOICE NOT TO BE INCLUDED. THAT CHOICE WAS MADE BY YOU AND YOU ALONE.

I generate polls from the reunion meetings. What is voted on the website leads back to discussions in the meetings.

Meeting dates are set from previous meeting dates. Those in attendance "yes" or "no" the time that is best for them. We cannot read each other minds. We don't know what is best for you unless you expressly tell us in the previous meeting or on the website. Sometimes I find it tedious to do a poll and no one responds or people are just not joining the website because of some negativity against the planning of the reunion or maybe against me. BUT I STILL DO WHAT I CAN FOR MY CLASS REUNION. It is wrong to NOT hold a meeting based on one person circumstances. Nevertheless, I am going to still do what I can to help in the reunion planning and if we really want to be successful, we should put our pettiness or babyish ways aside and do what needs to be done for the benefit of our class reunion and not ourselves.

YEAH I SAID A MOUTHFUL. THIS IS MY OPINION. WE ALL HAVE OPINIONS. I JUST FEEL IT BEST TO ADDRESS MINES OUT FRONT.

I think that Oct is a good time because Homecoming is usually around that time as well and a lot of people that have left Noxubee or MS in general usually come back.

Happy New Year Classmates!  2012 has come and gone, it's true.  I want to wish everyone and their families a blessed upcoming year.  I was elated to hear the news of new arrivals being born into families, relationships and marriages blossom, and the careers and goals of others succeed. I was blessed with a little man added to our family  this year also. Pictures to be added soon. I want to encourage you to share these memories with other classmates through the website, just click every now and then to say hello to one another, or whenever you can encourage a classmate that is not connected to the site to get connected.

2012 was a prioritizing ( and pregnant - LOL) year for me and I apologize for letting the class website catch the backburner. I will try to do better this year and I ask for anyone to help remind me or if you are able, partner with me to make updates and class announcements throughout the year.  Just email me and we can discuss the functionality of the website.  It is also a great time to update your profile as we could start the process of putting together a 5 year event for 2014 if the interest still stands.  I will again post a survey to spark and record interest.  I have to say that our first event may have gotten off to a rocky start and then ended with a smooth landing and it can be topped by the 2014 event with your support also.

I count blessings that no classmate was taken from the ranks in 2012 and hope the same for 2013. I send condolences to classmates that have lost loved ones in 2012 and while our class may not have been always represented with support through cards or flowers, many prayers and spoken words were sent up on their behalf personally and I know through many other classmates.  I would like to get better with that support and I ask that you help me with this by personally messaging me with news of this type and I will make sure that our class show support in one form or the other. And if anyone else has an idea for a system to be established toward monies contributed by classmates for this type of support, please let us know. Updating address and every classmate being connected through this website is especially important for this reason alone.

Please feel free to respond with suggestions, questions, or concerns.
