FLAGG, Paluel J. II Paluel J. Flagg, II, Col. US Army, Ret. 60, of E. Granby, CT, died Tuesday, December 14, 2004, at home. Born in New York City, NY on March 23, 1944, son of Patricia (Dewever) Flagg of North Haven and the late Aelfred Flagg, he had lived in the Granby area for the last 20 years. He was currently employed by the State of CT in the Office of Emergency Management as the District Two Coordinator. Colonel Flagg served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and Desert Storm and retired from the CT Army National Guard in 1996. Among his many decorations and medals, he earned the Bronze Star and the CT Medal of Valor. In Vietnam, he served with the 282 Assault Helicopter Company and during Desert Storm he was the Commander of the 1109 AVCRAD in Kuwait. Col. Flagg enjoyed time with his children, was a sports enthusiast, loved animals and was a member of the Rotary Club of Avon/Canton. Pal was a 1962 graduate of Manchester, CT, High School. Besides his mother, he leaves two sons, Brett D. Flagg and Rebecca Walker of Granby and Lance J. Flagg of Hamden and Tonya Schaldenko; sister, Danielle Flagg and her husband, Paul Ruzycki of Meriden and his grandson, Devin who affectionately called him Grandpal. His funeral service, with Military Honors, was on held in the chapel of the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, Windsor, CT. Burial was private in the Veteran's Administrative National Cemetery of Massachusetts, Bourne, MA. [Edit Bio] [Link family members]

It was good to have seen Pal at the 40th reunion, as he passed shortly thereafter.
I visited his grave at the national cemetary at the Cape, where he's interred; his Find A Grave memorial is below.
