Melissa,

I'm so sorry to hear about your brother. That is a shocking, sad situation and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family! I had a brother die just before I was born and grew up with that "hole" in my family, but I have always thought of him as another angel looking down over us. May each day be a little better, as the memories of your brother's love soothe your heart. Many hugs are being sent across the miles!

Brian and Lyn. I think Saturday sounds great, but I have to get Ben(my hubby) on board. I'll give him a few beers and maybe I'll get him to go out.
Fingers are crossed because I'd love to see anyone who I won't remember or remember me. Funny thing is, Ben tends to remember everyone from high school and he was a year behind us.

Dear Melissa,
It is through your love for your brother that his spirit lives on. You and your family are in my thoughts and in my prayers. Like Joni, I would like to donate to a charity, organization or special need in your brother's name and encourage other classmates to do the same if possible.
With sympathy,
Margo

Ok..I responded to the e-mail for the Derryfield. I work until 11:00 (or 2300 hours). If any of you are still there call me at 867-9902. I will bring a change of shirt so I can go. Not cool to drink in a MPD shirt.

Wow! I just got back from NYC and missed a lot.

Melis...you know my heart breaks for your entire family.

I've been catching up on the forum and it really is funny no matter what we did, what clubs, sport, committees...etc it appears that all of us had our insecurities...

I would like to thank all of you that bailed on me tonight! I also heard someone bailed out of her chair!

Karen Dobrowski (Hernandez)

I caught my foot in my skirt, alright!! And have the bruises to prove it! Sorry about bailing on you though, Donna. We'll have to do it again on a night you're off. So nice to see Brian, Lyn, Kathy (and meet her husband!), Joe, Jim (once we found him!) and of course Carol!

Just getting caught up on things.

Melissa-I sent a private post along with my love and sympathy.

I love that folks have started to get together already. Makes me wish I lived closer. Next time I'm in ManchVegas I'll post it and see if I can get together with anyone.

Insecurity discussion: oh yeah, we all had them and still do to some extent. At this age some of my insecurities have morphed into character traits as I've learned to accept things, and as life has given me perspective on the importance of the "things". Fat thighs? Big deal at this age! Who cares! People think I'm pushy? I KNOW I'm passionate! People don't understand my perspective? (really felt that way in high school). I've learned to articulate my ideas and vision very well because of this, and if people still don't get it, that's okay! Approval isn't important and the understanding of my mate and family is paramount.

I will be there, ready and anxious to hear everyone's story. It is facinating to me to see the many paths we have all taken.

Does anyone have photos from high school they can share? I would love to see some "untalented hour" photos since those shows were such fun. Remember when they wouldn't let Egor and his band play so we had a ROCKIN alternate concert? Ahh, good times!

Linda Lemay (Wojceshonek)

Hi Laura. That's one good thing about still living in the neighborhood. I still she people randomly. My husband and I have been hanging around with Egor for years. But haven't seen him in a while. I talk to his daughter quite often though.
Now that you mention it, I don't know where all my high school pictures are. hmmmmmm yet another reason to clean out my attic. Thanks!!!

Sorry I missed you all last night. Something came up and we never did make it out.

Lyn Swanson (Lavery)

Hi Everyone,
Brian and I had such a great time last night. Thanks to everyone who was able to make it. It was so much fun remembering and catching up. We want to do this again at least one more time before the reunion, when more people are available, and maybe at a quieter venue so our aging ears can hear all of the conversations! We'll throw out a couple dates in the next week or so. And just so we can all find each other, next time the girls will all wear "Derryfield light sticks" in that special way!
Best,
Lyn

Last night was fun and it was great seeing all of you!

Brian and Lyn, thanks again for suggesting it. (Lyn, you're too damn funny about the light sticks!)

Laura, I hope you can join us in the near future. It would be great to see you. I remember you being fun to hang out with in school. You were insecure?? You could have fooled me!

For anyone who would like to join us but has been hesitant, please know that we don't focus on degrees, income, job status, etc. (That would be 10-year reunion talk.) We just hang out (and laugh!)and enjoy spending time together without all the pressures of teenage life.
