09/17/09 10:18 AM #793

Glenn Lianos

not likely... :)

Karen Dobrowski (Hernandez)

Ah, well... I suppose there are worse things to be "famous" for! Such is my fate!

Mary Schunemann (Felton)

Actually Glenn, I DID have a Dorothy Hamill! My senior picture shows it after it had grown out a little. My hair has just enough curl in it so even with that NEW invention The Blow Dryer, the ends still curled up. Think: Bozo the Clown and you'll be real close haha!

OMG Mary, I don't recall that event (or pic)at all!! Reading and trying to remember all of this stuff lead to a dream last night of going to some mall and running into tons of old MMHS'rs! Nancy Hayes, Deb Van Winkle, Denise Hebert, - several others but I can't even remember them from last night!
I love the big eyeglasses, at least I know now that I wasn't the only one with a pair - mine did however have changeable gold/silver stick ons for decorative lenses. We were cool, weren't we?

Mini, I have the answer to the question "Can we survive partying two nights in a row?" NO!!

I need the rest of the "My glass! My glass !" story.

Linda Lemay (Wojceshonek)

OMG. I have to quit my job to keep up with all the goings on around here.
I'm gonna go to P.J.'s and just listen to all your stories because I'm clueless to what went on back then. But so far I'm very amused by what I've heard so far.
See you all tomorrow night. I hope nothing comes up to keep me away.

Bummed I will miss tomorrow...any chance someone has a webcam???!!! and SKYPE?!

Just kidding...some things clearly should NOT be broadcast over the internet...and I'm thinking tomorrows mini-reunion might fit the criteria!

Carol Erlman (Phillips)

Rob,
I agree....we are a pretty feisty bunch for being 30 years out!

And you can find Karen and her wonderful Dorothy Hamill on my profile page. (She kicks ass, doesn't she?) I think the Class of '79 should get the prize for hairstyles! We were diverse, that's for sure! Senior year certainly inspired me to finally cut my hair!

Karen Dobrowski (Hernandez)

Thanks, Carol. Had to point them there, didn't you! Hey, I liked that haircut!

Michelle Tanguay (Considine)

Let's face it, Karen...you look good in any hairstyle!

Let's talk music. Name a memorable '79 song or band. What kind of music is planned for the reunion?

Robert Ferendo

I remember going to a Styx concert down at JFK Colisseum of all places! Probably a littler earlier than '79 though....

Karen, I have a theory about hair and dancing.

I think we more or less keep some version of our high school hair for the rest of our lives (or until our hair falls out.) Look through the reunion profiles and you will find this is certainly holding true with our class.

Same with dancing. You continue to do some version of the dance you did in high school for the rest of your life. Our children are going to regret their current dance styles (Krumping anyone?) when they’re 90 and attempting the geriatric version.

Kevin Farley

Look at my profile first everybody.

Carol Erlman (Phillips)

Oh boy, Kevin! Here goes...

Aerosmith, Donna Summer, Rod Stewart, Styx, Blondie, Earth Wind and Fire, Journey, Chicago, The Eagles, Michael Jackson, The Police, Pink Floyd, Gloria Gaynor, The Bee Gees, The Knack, Queen, Sister Sledge, The Doobie Brothers, Lionel Ritchie (with or without the Commodores)...

CAN WE START DANCING YET?

...My Sharona, Babe, I Will Survive, Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?, Still, What a Fool Believes, Another Brick in the Wall, Funkytown, What I Like About You, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Ladies' Night, Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now (no pun intended)...

CAN WE KEEP DANCING?...

Awesome. I'm thinking about making a reunion CD. I have many of those songs on my itunes.

Anyone else?

Great. I'm confused why nobody can remember shit about anything, but ask about a song and you get a slew of memories. Must be primal.

Okay just for the record Glenn and Laura the "my glass, my glass" story happened when we were out of high school as it was in Diane and mine's apt. on Laurel St. although I did think of it today and laughed. I also thought of Diane looking in the mirror at the Pizza Hut bathroom coming out asking you guys why no one told her she looked like a squirrel!! Drugs... aren't they just wonderful! Sometimes I think shrooming again would be a blast!! Then I think, I am a mother of two and a RN maybe not such a good idea but it does sound like fun!!

Kevin- the "my glass, my glass" story goes along with my clinging to a tree at Flint Hill!! Ha! Ha! I think a CD reunion music tape from the 70's sounds like a great idea!! If anyone has the music it's you for sure!!

Will have to check out those pictures of the hair you are all talking about!

Can't wait to see all of you tomorrow night at "PJ's" and by the way "I am not the band geek or girl next door anymore!" Once I got rid of Larry the fairy (oops did I say that) I found out how fun partying was!!

different sense- different side of the brain

Just checked out Mary's pics and yes the hair was definitely big and bold back then wasn't it! Some of the styles are coming back again though like the knee hi boots that Mary is wearing in the picture!!! Liking it!

Like the song goes " These boots are made for walking and that's just what they'll do. One of these days these boots are going to walk all over you!" Quite the song for sure1 It's all in how you interpret it.
