Melissa: we should bring your picture so you will be there in spirit. I'm getting ready to go. I'm starving. Gotta eat before drinking.

P.S. I try to post everytime I'm on so it marks where I left off and it's easier so I don't have to reread everything. lol

Kevin - It's funny: I remember the train ride to Paris but not the trip back to Aachen, although I do remember the Burgermeister visit, too.

I know there were 8 of us to Paris - 5 guys and 3 girls, creating an awkward rooming dilema you may recall ;-D since they didn't permit more than 4 to a room (Hmmm... which boy stayed with the girls? Hee hee hee... I recall said boy commenting, as we turned out the lights, "What would my mother say if she knew?" Yet, at the end of the day, we were all so excruciatingly innocent!) I could only come up with 6 names until you mentioned Billy Sturgeos. I think Deb DeFabio from Central was the third girl. I can't come up with the 5th guy. I'm sure there are photos that exist that would reveal the mystery man! My Germany photos are inconveniently in slide form and are probably in the same box as my elusive yearbooks.

Thank you, Linda. If I can't be there in 3D, 2 will have to do.

Look at me! It's early and I"m home. Such a good girl. Not, I'd still be at P.J.'s but I took my sons girlfriend with me and we had to leave. I had a great time. Thank you to Brian and Lyn for basically forcing me to go. It was great. When I left things seemed to be gong good. Karen didn't fall. Donna was behaving.
On a sad note.... Lyn and Brian were there for about 20 minutes and all of a sudden were gone. I hope all is well with Brian. I only know what I heard, therefore I'll leave it to him to discuss.
There were quite a few people there. I'm impressed at how the class of 79 are still partiers. Love it.
Hmmmm It's quiet around my house. Maybe I'll head back over.

Deb, I went back and you were gone. Sorry I missed you.
I never could stay at one place too long. I left and went back, had one more drink and now I'm online. he he.

No really I went back because I heard Brian and Lyn were back and being nosy I wanted to get the scoop. I'll leave it at that. For those that didn't go, you missed a good time. We should do this on a regular basis. It's good to get out.

Rob, they could have put the phones ear to mouth and you and I could have spoken together. Virtual party guests.

My adorable husband comes home tonight. He has been out of town all week. I can hardly wait!

Melissa: Yay for reunions. Glad your hubbie will be home. I didn't realize you and Rob were on the phone with someone. Must have been secret squirrel stuff. You sneaky devils. lol.
Wish you both could have been there.
I had a good time but now it's beddie by time. Melissa, I know you are 3 hours behind but it's getting late for this ole lady. by the way, you should bring my daughter back with you when you come. She lives in Cali and I miss her.
Night all.

Linda, if she fits in my suitcase, I'll bring her. I hope you all had fun but are saving something for Rob and me.

Since I was the first to go home, I assume I'm the first one up this morning! What a gathering last night! Wish I could have stayed longer, but mommyhood comes first. A big thank you to everyone for being so sweet to my Duncan. He was a little weirded out about coming with me, but everyone (starting with Ms Donna!) made him feel so comfortable that he ended up having a great time. He had a blast looking everyone that arrived up in Michelle's (Tanguay) yearbook and laughing at how much we'd all changed! His comment on the way home was that we all were "like big kids together"... I'm taking that as a compliment! Looking forward to seeing all of you again soon!! And hoping that the connection doesn't die after the reunion!! It's just too much fun!

Oh, and for the record... my butt stayed firmly planted ON MY CHAIR. Sorry, folks! Someone else will have to provide the entertainment this time! HA, Bob!

Linda Lemay (Wojceshonek)

Karen: It was great you had Duncan with you. He's a nice kid. I was home by 11 so I'm up early too.
I think this won't end after the reunion. I feel people are bonding. I also had a good time last night even though I left, went back and left again.

Melissa: thanks for the offer to pack Cara up and bring her but they charge for luggage and that's too much to ask. lol.

Thanks all for a good night. And to Donna for flagging me down when I walked in. I was clueless.

Only a few weeks away and we'll be able to join the mix, Melissa! Will try to keep up over the coming week but time zone will be a bit hairy...heading to the airport and off to Vienna for business(yes , really, business, honest!) Keep the humor going!

Have a safe trip Rob but do try to have some fun too.

Just got home. What a great time. When's the next one?

Evelyn Gratton (Pepin)

Karen Dobrowski - I'm sorry I missed you last night! By the time I got there, it was about 8:30, maybe?

I was excited to go! Then, I got to the parking lot and thought, "Nobody's gonna know who I am! What am I doing? Aw, shucks! No parking spaces. I should go home. OH... a space opened up. Okay, I'll go in, but if I don't recognize anybody within 20 seconds..." I got inside and the place was full. Hmmm, should I stay? ...or flee? Not seeing anyone... Then some folks who were standing stepped aside and revealed Donna Keenan, who glanced at me wondering who the hell I was. Well, we've made eye contact and I know who she is! The time to flee has passed! And I'm so glad I didn't! What a great visit with everyone.

Kevin Farley, I will never look at martinis the same way again!

Rob Ferendo, great to hear your voice on the phone! Would love to have chatted longer but the noise level was daunting.

Melissa, I missed your phone call! But I look forward to seeing you in person in a few weeks!

Michelle Tanguay, loved our visit and hope to do it more often! Thanks for bringing your yearbook.

Pam Taber, we didn't get to visit much last night, but I hope we can catch up real soon. BTW: I think I've found Jill Campbell - I Googled her and managed to catch a phone number. I'll try calling it later today to see if I've found the right Jill!

And it was great to see everyone else - folks I knew throughout our school years and others I may have only recognized by name. Looking forward to seeing more of our classmates on the 10th!

Karen Dobrowski (Hernandez)

Sorry I missed you Evelyn! As the rest must have told you, my date for the evening was my 10-yr-old and I had to get him home. Glad you were brave and walked in the door, tho!! Good girl. Looking forward to the reunion more and more!

I thoroughly enjoyed seeing everyone last night! Would have stayed longer but two things factored in my friend and yes he is "just a friend" was down and out about his girlfriend as usually he is much more sociable and I didn't want to make him stay when he wasn't up to it and my 16 y.o. had a 8AM soccer game I had to get up bright and early for so I needed to get home and to bed at a decent hour! I am not as young as I would like to believe anymore. The spirit is willing but the body just doesn't always want to cooperate! Being hungover at a soccer game at 8AM on a Sat. morning isn't fun for me anymore!

Deb thanks for the ride home your husband is a hoot!

Can't wait to see everyone again soon!! Melissa and Rob there are still many more stories to tell believe me I am just getting started!! Watch out! LOL

Brian how are you doing? Last I know they thought you had kidney stones! Ouch!! So much for renting a hotel room for the night huh Lynn?! Hope you are better, Brian.

Laura Kohut (Douglass)

I was sad I couldn't make it last night until I read the posts: Now I'm REALLY sad! Sounds like fun was had and I truly wish I had been there.

Thanks to everyone for the music list. I was working on one for the pre-reunion dinner at the Apollo: Squeeze Box by the Who, Hooked on a feeling, Hot child in the city, etc. Wow, we had some bad music happeing then! Also had the Sex Pistols, etc. Music does bring back a lot of memories. Kevin, remember smoking and riding around the enchanted forest? I remember we came up with the idea of visual music and thought we were so smart. Until the next day when we realized what a dumb idea that was.

Kevin: are you a martini man? Man after my own heart.
Pam: OMG. That memory of Diane thinking she looked like a squirrel is one of my favorites. Wow, was she pissed at us for not telling her! That was on the night of the 4th of July fireworks. Earlier that night I had gone and bought everyone a balloon. When I was walking back to our blanket all these little kids thought I was selling them and I remember getting freaked out because they all wanted my balloons. That same night I was washing my feet in the bath tub and thought one was a size 14 and one a 5, and was struggling to figure out how was going to buy shoes from now on. Ah, chemicals.

I've had some folks ask about the pre-reunion dinner/party at the Apollo. I will need to know how many folks are coming the week before so I can save the space. We have a Mayors reception going on that night as well so a bunch of city mayors and the Lt. Gov. of Mass. will be there. I say we get loud and roudy so we can annoy authority figures again!

Appetizers and the first round of drinks are on me! We will have a list of Crusader Cocktails to order from and room to dance as the night goes on. Melissa, can your handsome husband dance as well as Glenn? The current menu is listed on apollo-grill.com.

Laura I want to come to the "Apollo" the night before for sure but everything is hinging on how well Maura does at her surgery this coming Thurs. Believe me you might be envious of last night but if I can't make it to your party I will be GREEN with envy!! I did talk Melissa on the phone which was a real treat! Trying hard to convince Glenn to come!!

Yes, the druggie days were quite interesting now weren't they!! I didn't really embellish too much until after high school and Larry!!! I was the "goodie too shoes girl" remember??!! LOL

Michelle Tanguay (Considine)

How wonderful it was to see everyone last night. I actually didn't get home until 1:00 this morning. I "almost" closed the place. Thanks to all the guys for being so kind to my son. He had such a nice time speaking with all of you!

Kevin...I only had 1 1/2 martini's last night...what does that mean?

Carol, you haven't changed one bit, and are still as sweet as ever!

Karen...you're so much fun. I've missed you!

Pam...who'd have thought that we lived right around the corner from each other, yet haven't seen each other in 30 years???

Thank you to Lynn and Brian for organizing this get-together. It was a blast! It was wonderful to s/w you Rob & Melissa. Now I'm even more anxious to see you next month!

I think the valuable lesson learned last night was that (as someone perceptively put it) we were all insecure in high school and thought we were invisible. Fortunately we found out differently last night and wished that "we knew then what we know now"! I wish I could credit the person who thought of the insecure/invisible statement, but by then I was on my 3rd drink and can't remember who it was!

And just so you know....I'm not drinking again until the reunion...I need to detox!

09/19/09 07:46 PM #866

Pam Taber

Yeah sure Michelle! I thought you were coming over soon and drinking with me!! That is exactly why I didn't stay that late as I would not have made it to Em's soccer game at 8AM; cleaned my house or gone for a 2 hrs. canoe ride with Em and my dogs!! I have had those days though and at our age it takes days to get over a few hours of drinking!! Ha! Ha!
