Pam Taber Oh Boy I have my work cut out for me with Maura! She is more in control of her pain though thank God! Having the reunion to look forward to will help me get through the next couple of weeks! Looking forward to it to see if Melissa and Rob end up in a cleaning closet together somewhere!!! Wink, wink!

Donna K: thanks for the phone call. It was great to hear you are recovering from your surgery. I'm impressed by your optimism and convinced it will get you far! Donna is looking to hitch a ride to Apollo night so if anyone has room, drop her a line.

We've worked out our two-day/overnight sitter logistics, and if they stay intact, then Ron will get to come with me to the Apollo Grill after all! I will be scouting for hotel rates this evening so that we may indulge in the festivities responsibly. Now... One question remains: Is Leah Garlichs Apollo Grill-bound? Am I picking her up from the airport on Friday? :-) ...or Saturday? :-(

On a personal, non-reunion note: I'm a Great-Aunt!! My nephew, Joe, and his wife, Emily, were expecting their baby girl on Oct 10th, in fact, but it seems their calculation of dates were off a bit. Arianna Jade Gratton (not sure how they're spelling her name yet, so we'll go with this for now) was born at 8:40 pm on Sept 24th, 7 lbs 8 oz. She's the first of the next generation on my side of the family. (Technically, I'm already a great-aunt (in-law) to Ron's niece's daughters, but now I'm a "natural" one, too.) My nephew, 27, is over the moon! He says he "gets it now!" Isn't that cool? My niece-in-law, Emily, persevered through the lengthy labor and is doing great. I've only seen a picture, so I can't wait to meet Baby Arianna in person!

This is a 'power week' of birthdays: Mine was on Monday, the 21st, my niece, Jennie's (Joe's sister) was Wednesday, the 23rd, now Arianna's is the 24th, my sister, Nancy's is the 25th (Oh, that's today!), Leah Garlichs' birthday is on the 27th... which seems to suggest that Christmas is a very romantic time of year! Or that there's nothing much on TV... ;-)

What surgery did you have Donna. I would offer rides to people but it is very much up in the air if I will make it to the "Apollo" Fri. night or not. A lot hinges on how Maura is doing. She is coming home with me and I will be caring for her initially. Her father and I have decided we will have to see how she is doing to determine if she goes back and forth between us or not.
He has agreed to take her the 10'th, 11'th and 12'th of Oct. though for me so I can enjoy my reunion weekend so a rowdy brunch on Sun. someplace sounds great to me!!!

Today Maura seems to have "turned the corner" and has been resting very peacefully. May need a blood transfusion but that is yet to be determined. Don't want to do anything unless it is medically needed!

Enjoy today as I guess rain is coming in for tomorrow.:::::::::::::::::::(

So glad to hear things are going well. How old is Maura? Also glad to hear that your ex is covering your reunion weekend so you can be with everyone. I heard something years ago that helped me and is so true...
...in a divorce, people either put their anger first or their children.

Glenn, I’m all for begging. In fact, I’m decidedly pro-begging.

Dang Mini, He never laid one finger on me. I like to think he was so afraid of his strong feelings, he wouldn’t allow himself to guide my elbow even if I was about to drive into a pile of orphans and kittens. Were he to even touch my elbow, he would long for me the rest of his life. Anyway…that’s how I see it.

Joni & Carol, I will miss you at the Apollo, so we will have to make time to catch up at the Reunion. Have fun and cheer for me too!
