Donna Keenan (Grady)

My daughter's friend is telling me to get a camera for this event (I want one when Kellianne runs The Race for the Fallen). Gotta think about it...hmm..I hate my picture being taken.

Karen Dobrowski (Hernandez)

But if YOU are taking the pics, you're not IN them, silly!

Glad at least some of us still have a good memory, Glenn!! Probably to everyone else's advantage if we don't make it as we could totally sweep the entire contest just like the "Oscars"!!

Keep your fingers and toes and anything else you can crossed that Maura's breathing tube comes out today!! That would be a big corner turned and then it would just be weaning her off of the final cardiac medication! That would be great and mean going home will come sooner than later!

Would be nice to get back home soon under one roof with my girls again. My 16 y.o. is having a tough time of it trying to go to school; come visit her sister and just not worry. She needs this to be behind her too!! She came last night and she is exhausted and irritable. I understand her though as she is MY daughter!!

GOOD LUCK PAM! I hope all goes well X O

Good point Karen...Donna if you're taking you're not in the pictures...you can send me some

From the looks of the forum, Glenn, Laura and Melissa will have you in damage-control mode for all eternity... Never fear! I won't believe any of it! (maybe!)

10/02/09 12:05 PM #1148

Robert Ferendo

What do you mean you won't believe it Karen? If Glenn persists in being a "no show" I am not only going to believe every word I hear (no matter how absurd) but I may consider leaking some of it to the press! (or at least to various and sundry family members!)

Karen Dobrowski (Hernandez)

Ouch, Rob! You are ruthless! I'd give in, Glenn, before it's too late!

I think it would be wise for Mr Lianos to scramble for some airline tickets and get his butt back here next weekend!

Steve, you have been MIA for some time. YOU have been missed.

Here's our problem...When has Glenn Lianos EVER given in to peer pressure? He is counting on our bad memories to defend himself. But, we have a secret weapon. We have Pam. (Speaking of which, How are you sugar? Kiss that baby for me.) Sadly, he is not so far from wrong. I remember nothing, (so I will have to make up stuff)

However, I may inadvertently stumble upon some truths. (It could happen) In his career, Glenn is held in high regard, he is well thought of within his community & his wife thinks he’s the bomb. But the internet is Satan. (We’ve all seen the CNN special.) A few ill-advised photos (photo shopped) and...Poof!...Your reputation is shot. Based on Rob’s Chippendale dancer number alone, Glenn’s church has insisted he recreate that dance for a fundraiser.

All I can say is…Ya stays at home, Ya takes your lumps!

Laura Kohut (Douglass)

Pam, I'd love to come see you but being 1 1/2 hours away makes it so hard. Can't commit but will see what I can do. I trust she is getting good nursing care with you at the helm! I wish I was there, especially with my background in vent. weaning and intermediate care. But like I said, I'm sure you are overseeing her care like a hawk (lucky her).

Regarding Mr. Lianos. I have known his since I was 5 years old, shared apartments with him in Boston and, although I have forgotten much, have not forgotten all. So let me just say this to the rest of you: Grey goose martini, shaken, with olives. Bring it on.

Seriously, I can't believe the reunion is next week. 7 days from now I'll be with old friends again! I know my sides will ache from the laughs and my arms will as well from the hugs. Can't wait.

:::Grey goose martini, shaken, with olives::: Duly noted! :)

Laura and Ev (Ev sounds like you're bartending) Grey Goose (shaken until it doesn't know which country it's in) twist.

And Laura, except for the olives...Jinx.

Laura Kohut (Douglass)

Melissa, I always knew you were twisted! Ev-let's toast!

Pam Taber

Whoo Hoo our little crusader had her breathing tube removed today!!! I'll drink to that!! Still a long way to go but she made a huge turn today!! Good chance I won't make it to the reunion as she essentially could still be in the hospital still but I will definitely be there in spirit for sure!! Continued prayers that she continues to go forward are again always welcome!! Time for a Grey Goose Martini Shaken for sure and I don't even like martini's!! I'll drink anything at this point just to celebrate this big turn of events!

Laura- no problem I had no idea you are 1-1/2 hrs. outside of Boston. Wish you were her nurse but the nurses here are awesome so I can't complain. Having the knowledge I do does definitely come in handy for sure!!

Yay for Maura! Cheers!

Michelle Tanguay (Considine)

Woot woot for Maura! You go girl!!!

Also, regarding martini's: Tanqueray martini, extra dry, with a twist. I'm sure Kevin will agree...

Laura, you can count on my drinking those Friday night! I'm very much looking forward to seeing you!

Glen, you'd better high-tale it out to the East Coast to save face!!! I too, have many memories, embelished of course, in light of your absence...

Lemon Drop Matini's for me. But I haven't had a decent one since I left Cali. I don't know why but they are terrible here and trust me I've tried them in every bar in Manchester. Olive Garden makes a decent one.

Yay!!! for Maura. She's a real fighter. I will continue to pray for her recovery.

Wahoooo!!!! Maura! That’s our girl!
(Laura- that was a good one- twisted!)
Linda, Now I’m bragging (which I tell the squids is vulgar) but...I make a mean lemon drop. It was the “signature “cocktail for the cocktail hour before our reception.

Here’s the recipe (sort of):
1 part Fresh squeezed (Chances are they are using a powdered mix in the bars)

1 part Citron vodka - I like Kettle One for Lemon Drops (Grey Goose for everything else) Feel free to experiment with the proportions.

1 part Simple Syrup (equal part sugar and water heated to melt sugar and cooled)

To make the sugar rim (a must for a proper lemon drop) use the pulpy shell of the lemon and “drag” it around the rim of the glass. This acts as the glue to hold the sugar.

Rest the rim of the glass in super fine (a.k.a. Castor) sugar to coat. Tap off excess by “pinging” the glass. I’ve also used sugar sprinkles for an over-the-top- girly look. However, the sugar doesn’t stick as well, but the glasses look fabulous. I make the squids “Virgin Lemondrops” aka Lemonade. They are all about the sugar rim.

Shake, shake, shake . Strain the ice.
Serve in a martini glass. Doesn’t everything look gorgeous in a martini glass? I bet prune juice looks good in a martini glass (I’ll let you know at the 40th reunion)

Ah Melissa, you are a god send. I had my first one while visiting my daughter in SoCal in May. They were pretty and sweet and yes the martini glass does look elegant. Since then it has been my mission to find someplace that makes them properly. They are usually the wrong color, taste like pure vodka or they just aren't right. I'm off this weekend and heading to get what I need to try making them myself. Thanks so much.

Wow...now I am really frightened! Rob good luck with tainting me with my family...key word is they're my family, imagine what they've had to endure already...go ahead...break my mother's heart, again.

I'm deeply flattered but if that's all you have..I'm ok. Besides, if I'm not there to hear them they're wasred. No one loves a good story more then me, even if it's about me...embellished or not. If it's good I'm all in

PS Way to go Maura!!!

Melissa! My mouth's watering! I haven't had a Lemon Drop in a while. That recipe sounds delicious.

A few years ago, we stayed at the Hilton Niagara Falls Hotel on the Canadian side and visited their top-floor lounge. I had an Angel Cake Martini there - two, actually! - and they tasted just like angel food cake! I've tried to duplicate it, unsuccessfully - I can't recall all ingredients, and have searched for a recipe but haven't been able to find one. We'll have to go back, I guess...

she makes a mean one...I'm with Laura on vodka martini's w/ olives. But..Melissa had my wife and son's gogmother flying on Lemon Drops one night when we stopped over.
