You know how I know I am a cool Mom..my 24 year old loves JBJ too. We have seen Bon Jovi together twice. Once in a raging blizzard in Boston. Nothing keeps me from JBJ!

Glen,
I hate to admit it, but we are now probably a bit too old for the Derryfield. I had alot of fun there when I was in my thirties.

Not sappy, Steve. Rather lovely though....

Too funny Donna.
I got a lot of mileage out of taking my son to see AC/DC last winter. I'm sure I've suffered permanent hearing loss but it was worth the parental moment!

Thanks Melissa!

OK can I still do a Mommy brag..my daughter was invited to sing in Boston with the back up of only Keith Lockhart. She is only in the promo for a snipit...when they sing Joy she is all the way to the left with a blue tee...The video will be out this autumn..it was an awesome show. I even went with my ex - told him I learned more that night than all the weeks my mother forced me to go to CCD. My other fav is I'm on A Boat..way to vulgar to post but it cracks me up. My daugher who was singing about Jesus made me aware of it. YuTube it..not the censored one!

Donna, Congrats to your daughter.
I also have a good mom story. In 1982 I was pregnant and went to a Journey show. I bought a tour t-shirt. My daughter was born 2 weeks later. She grew up listening to Journey (my fav) She's gone to at least 10 Journey shows with us and wears that 1982 t-shirt to every one of them.
Music is big for our family and it was always something we did with the kids.
Only wish they could go with us when we go see Journey in September.

My favorite is when one of my kids "discovers" a band from our error and I start singing along.."They're all..you know that song?" but..I'm also still in the Miley Cyrus stage in my house too!

PS. Melissa and Donna. If JBJ and The Boss become available, don't say no this time!

Steve,
I took my kids and some of their friends to the AC/DC show. It was worth every penny to see them all singing the music the we grew up with!

Margo,
I've spoken to the powers that be and the recommended that I take the limit off of the number of words you're allowed.
Thanks

Ok Linda, this ones for you. Ironically my 11 year old asked me this morning if he could download "Don't Stop Believin" from Journey...LOL

Wow!!have you guys been busy this weekend! First...Karen, yes I remember the safe incident just as clearly...we called anonymously because we didnt want to explain why we were there! Too funny. As for the music discussion...it IS funny, my sons are into all the classic rock from our day..SSSOOOOO glad they are over rap! My youngest taught himself 'rifs?' from all the Boston songs...(course not surprising, he was the one at 10 that was totally into Dean Martin and the Rat Pack!)

They are also very into Reggae and are completely disallusioned everytime I start singing along and have to tell them that it is a remake of one of "our" songs...SURELY the 20 year old rap-reggae singer was the original recording!

lol. great to hear we are all in the same boat. We've kept up with our kids music over the years but the classics live on. My son plays the guitar and learned the classics before learning any of the newer stuff. We've taken the kids to see Morrissey, The Cure, Aerosmith, Jourey, Pat Benitar, Depech Mode, Kiss, etc.....and a big hit for them was the Rolling stones about 10 years ago. I have a whole album of ticket stubs to pass on to them someday.

It always made me laugh when I knew the words to new songs the kids were listening to. Some have been remade 3 times already. Our generation must have been good for music if they keep using the same songs.

This has absolutely nothing to do with the reunion..but just when I think I have heard at all at work, someone called me at the PD to ask if it was legal to pierce his cat's ear! When I told him no due to animal cruelty, his response is it would look cute! I said (no so nicely) PIERCE YOUR OWN EAR AND SEE HOW IT FEELS! Geez..I hope we didn't graduate with him LOL

Donna! The feline population is indebted to you for all time...should have asked the guy if he would have attempted it if he had a Pit Bull! Have a nice night..:)

Joe,
In spite of the hearing loss, the AC/DC concert was awesome! I think my son particularly enjoyed the, um, inflatable character that arose from behind the stage. The "trying to be cool" mom with the 12 year-old daughter in front of us didn't enjoy it much though! lol

No accounting for taste! At least she made an effort, because Rosie has been in alot of shows. If she was a fan she would have known.
Have you hears from Shawn Harressey? He is trying to arrange a get together. It would probably be good for some laughs.

We really need a pre-reunion get together for the locals. I just need a wee bit of a notice because I don't work the normal Monday through Friday job. I can always ask for a swap or a vacation day (aka night).

Joe,
No. I haven't heard from Shawn. Let me know when and where.

Donna,
I agree. Count me in.

Donna,

My cat has both ears pierced , diamond studs with a matching collar. We would do her belly button too but we can't find it.

No nipple rings? You are too funny!

Not surpised Glen..you are in retail, right?

I saw Dave Spenard downtown and hooked him up with the website. Plus I notified Stephanie Lachapelle and Nancy Guillemette(Beaudet). I happen to be interested in the "local reunion" and it could initiate more creativity and interest in the weekend activities. Also, the music has crossed generations in my family as well. My sons are cranked on Zeppelin, Robin Trower, Floyd, the Eagles and Johnny Cash. August 2nd I'll be looking to score front row for Tool with one of them.
