Hey, Joanie! I'll be joining you at 50 THIS year, as Steve is so fond of reminding me! I like the idea of a "Big 5-0" weekend; the reunion night did go by way too fast! We miss you too... hope all is well with you and yours!

Hello everyone,
Been away for a while doing the life thing. Katie has been in London now studying at Regents college for a week and I really miss her. Joanie she loves London and is seeing all the sites having a pint or two and even met an English boy - I reminded her she was there to study- ha
We had a major flood at our home and lost basically two floors. A pod sit next to my house with all our belongings. What a mess. We lost alot of things, just things. This has kept us very busy and absolutely exhausted. So needless to say we miss some fun events.
My heart is quite heavey right now but Dana and I have each other and thank God for skype so I can see my daughter. Ok enough sad talk something good will come out of this.
Just wanted you all to know I am still around and glad eveyone is doin well and that the Derryfield party was a great success. My sister went and she said it was packed. We didn;t even know we were going to the same party. Sorry I missed it.

Take care
Talk to you all soon.
To top it all my mother accidently put super glue instead of eye drops in her eye. Ok to laugh she is in sunny Floria on the beach recooperating. She makes me laugh.

Cathy

Joni: So sorry to hear about your mother-in-law; such a loss for all of you, but especially for your dear husband coming so quick on the heels of his dad's passing. Our heartfelt condolences, sweetie. Hugging you right now!

So sad to hear Joni, the sorrow you and your husband feel right now must be overwhelming. Find comfort in the thought that they are now at peace together. Sincerely, Deb

Okay so I messed up with when most of us will turn 50 guess I am just having wishful thinking!

Cathy, keep that big smile and sunny and positive disposition despite it all!! You at least have your priorities straight that it was "just things" and you still have the people you love!!

Joni, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family right now. So tough to loose loved but knowing they are together now hopefully brings you some comfort!Received your package today but haven't opened it yet as the girls are with their Dad this weekend so will wait and open it with them on Mon.!! Thank you for your thoughtfulness!!!

Cathy, So sorry to hear of your misfortune!! At least have your priorities straight "your "possesions" and your home can be replaced and repaired. You still have the people you love!! I hope you get you home fixed very soon. Hope your mom is doing better.

Joni, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family right now. Losing a loved one is one of the toughest challenges we have to face. I know what you all are going thru right now as I just lost my Mom on the 23rd of January.

Wintry greetings, Fellow 79ers! (it's snowing like crazy as I write this!) I've been absent from the Forum for a few months - holidays, family stuff, life - you all know how it is. Thought I'd jump in while I had a moment before I got deep into some computer work this afternoon.

I haven't read everything since I dropped outta sight, but I caught the highlights:

Congratulations to the O'Shaughnessy's. It sounds like it was a successful fundraiser at the Derryfield, plus a side bonus of a mini-reunion!

My heartfelt sympathies, Bob and Joni, on the loss of your loved ones. Yet our loved ones never leave us, do they? Their place in our hearts is permanent. And you'll catch glimpses of your in-laws, Joni, in your handsome sons! My Isaac, who is 7, never met my dad, who passed in 1996, yet he is definitely Papa's grandson with that charm of his!

As far as turning 50 goes, God willing, I plan on enjoying the remaining 7 months I personally have being 48 and then savor being 49. 50 will have to wait its turn. As 'Heathcliff Huxtable' once said, "Just because you can't divide me by 5 doesn't make me less special," referring to his and 'Claire's' 25 anniversary when they hadn't reached their 23rd or 24th yet. ;-)

WHERE IS EVERYONE!!!!

02/17/10 12:28 PM #1911

Karen Dobrowski (Hernandez)

We're here, Anne! Just busy, busy, busy. It's that time of year... doing stuff around the houses, shoveling, kids getting ready for summer... or college...

I check in all the time, just don't always have time to post. I guess it's the same with many... but they're still around, popping up on Facebook now and then.

I hope everyone is doing okay! I guess we have to start planning the 50th Birthday Bash to get everyone hooked in again!

BTW, Anne... I was behind you last week at school one morning... the mental woman waving at you in your rearview mirror! You were dropping Nick off at the back door and I was dropping Connor!

Let's try to figure out what we can do for our 50th Birthday. We will have blast. Any suggestions class mates?????????

How about we all get together and plan our funerals? Maybe we could take a field trip to a funeral home..just a thought :)

Joan Whitcomb (Pledger)

Anne, I was just going to post what you did.A big scream to awaken every one.

I will be back in August, for a much needed break.I will be 50 already but would like to join in the feastiveties. maybe get friends and family and hit the beach or state park. I know maybe a little boreing but thats all I got. Love and miss you all.

02/18/10 02:42 AM #1915

Joan Whitcomb (Pledger)

Oh Donna, that is too funny.

02/19/10 08:24 AM #1916

Karen Dobrowski (Hernandez)

Donna, you're starting to worry me!! Cut it out!!

Joni, Can't wait to see you in August!! Is the whole family coming this time? After all the upheavals in your life, I can certainly understand you needing a nice, quiet break... but we WILL be getting together, honey. NO excuses!

Anne, I completely understand! That's why I didn't honk my horn! Sometimes I get home and wonder how I even got him to school - 'cuz I was on autopilot and don't remember doing it!

We HAVE to do something for our 50th birthdays... where else can we celebrate such a prickly event and not feel bad about getting older but with a whole bunch of people in the same boat!!??!!
