Had a great time catching up with all of you! Cant wait for our 25th! Great job to all of you who set this up I know how much work and how much time this took.
Really enjoyed Jon singing Folsom Prison Blues .
Thanks again to all for a great time!

Hi all - So sorry that I couldn't make it to the big reunion. Sounds like my sister, Vicki, did a good stand-in for me. She debriefed me this morning - thanks to all who remembered me and had good wishes for me. I enjoying having Jimbo as a bro-in-law. Best wishes to all, and hope to be able to attend the next reunion. Will that be the 25th? I'll have to start planning now!!

First, I need to thank everyone for putting the reunion together! We all know it can be a lot of thankless work that usually receives more criticism than compliments, so good job to everyone! Next, to anyone that went out with the CAA (Conservative Alcohol Approach) plan, we need to thank Aaron for blowing that before the reunion even started on Friday night with his Jag Bombs. Old people should not be exposed to that much alcohol. NASA Scientists are visiting me today to examine my liver. Seems that they got word that it is the only material tougher than a diamond… They’ll be getting a hold of a few more of you (Doug, pay attention.)

Daryl, I don’t think anyone will mix up John Fallenstein and Johnny Cash, but I give John credit for trying, especially considering the condition of his voice.

My biggest karaoke question goes to Watson and Gus. What was with the romantic, male/female duets where Gus was given the female roles? (Thanks Angie for intervening!)

What a great time, see everyone in 5 years! (Joel, I’ll see you at work on Monday.)

Scott,

Gender role selection for Karaoke is much the same as it is in prison, where the less masculine male is usually "selected" for the female role. Based on my reaction when Angie intervened, I should have continued to sing Olivia's part.

Gus,

That is the funniest thing I've read on here! Thanks for the laughs on here and last weekend! I can't wait to see what you do for an encore in 2013...

Thanks so much to everyone who organized the reunion. I had such a great time!! It was awesome seeing and catching up with everyone after so many years!

I hope we all remain in touch, and I look forward to seeing everyone again.

And I think John's singing was good! :)

Even though I'm running a little slow today I just want everyone to know that I had a GREAT time!! It was good to see so many people who I have not seen in years and reconnect. My gut and face still hurt from laughing and smiling so much over some of the old stories and memories that resurfaced Friday and Saturday. Go big with the "Rolling 88's"

If anyone is ever in Minneapolis look me up for happy hour or dinner sometime, always fun to see a friendly face and catch up.
Anyhow the couch is calling my name..

Many thank yous to all of you who put the reunion together, it was a great time! Oh yeah, and thanks again to those got the keg! It was great catching up. Ami and Cindy's room at the Hilton became quite the party room - it was great! Had some good laughs! I think Ami found a new profession as a photographer wink-wink!!! Good times! Cheers to '88! See ya at the 25th!!

For those of you who partied in room 816, thank you all for coming. I still don't understand how we didn't get security up to our room! What a whirlwind weekend - it was great seeing everyone. I can't wait to do it all again, however, I am glad it won't be for awhile because my liver wouldn't be able to handle it!

Being a preacher now, I really enjoyed seeing how a number of my classmates have gotten really close to the Lord over the years. Julie Debough, Liz S., Audra L., Jim K., Barb S., Michelle F., Joel W., and Scott Vaske.

Jeff,

I was hoping to see you and thank you again for getting my baptismal record so I could get married. How's your little church in Eagle Lake doing? It was like stepping into a time machine when I stopped in that day.

Barbara Snyder (Newbauer)

Sounds like I missed the best part (Saturday night) No baby sitter, and a a mom that insisted we stopped over again. So by 9pm we called it a night and hung out at the hotel. I was amazed at how many of us still live in MN. I am proposing a Get together at Chuck E Cheese in Burnsville Sunday the 7th of December. I am also open to other ideas, like a grown up get together. Like our organizers know if you don't pick a date you can't get together. I would love to hear more of what I missed.

Rumor has it Vaske is banned from all chuck e cheese's in continental North America. I heard one story about improper use of a skee ball and a mouse statue. The other had to do with the "whack-a-mole" game. I'm not saying it's true or anything.......

I have banned myself from every Chuck E Cheese in the world. I have gone through those years with my kids and there isn't enough beer in the world to get me to go in to one. Sorry, Barb!

Gus the time machine is essentially gone, we moved into our new building three years ago. The old building was built in 1879 and had 126 years of memories in it. Our last sunday in it, oddly enough, had 126 people in attendance. But a nice little family is living in the old Church building, and it's for sale again...want to buy it? :)

11/17/08 02:39 PM #66

Gus Karpas

Congrats on the new Church. Is it still in Eagle Lake? As tempting an offer as purchasing the old building is, I think I'm going to have to pass. Two kids, a mortgage of my own and my own expensive tastes limit the amount of disposable income available for church purchases.

Did have a question though. I recently had to put one of our cats down. In anticipation, my wife and I tried to explain to our three year old son that Ashley was going to Heaven to be with Jesus. He now comes up with questions like, "when is Jesus going to bring Ashley back" and "how did Jesus come and take Ashley."

The first one is pretty easy to answer, the second one is a little more tricky. Any advice? I'm guessing you deal with this type of stuff more than me.

Kari Knudson (Hoffhines)

At the next reunion, I hope to go to the second evening as well so that I may check out the name tags. I'm still puzzled by a few folks that I saw on Friday night.?!

I just saw the youtube video of Roger Watts...VERY IMPRESSIVE! Thank you, Roger!

I'm looking forward to the 25!

Gus,

This may benefit someone else, so I'll answer you Q's here. (Not that I'm the final authority on such matters!:)) Pets don't have a spirit like human beings, which makes us unique. But Jesus did say in Revelation 21:5 "I am making everything new!" and "Write this down for these words are trustworthy and true." This is all in reference to His return at the end of the age. So I would tell your little one that right now their pet really goes back into the earth and back into nature, but....Jesus will remake Ashley just like she was before...he can do that! In fact he says he will. He is going to restore our bodies and souls too...brand new!! We will still be who we are...but new.

But when does he return?? That is the unanswerable question. The bible tells us that it's meant to be a surprise. Anybody that says they know the day and hour will certainly prove themselves wrong. So we must patiently wait for the answer to that one. Hope that helps!

Thanks Julie. I will look into it. It's been almost two months and he still brings it up every couple of days.
