Julie Dick sent a notification that her aunt, Kathy Giannetto Zeuthen ,passed away this morning at 6:30 am in Johnston Iowa. She was with her sons and her brother and sister when she passed. Funeral arrangement are pending and an obituary will detail the plans. 

Kathy Ann Zeuthen (Giannetto) 75, formerly of Marshalltown, passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at the Mercy Hospice House in Johnston surrounded by her family.  A celebration of life was held on Friday, April 27, 2018 at Trinity Luthern Church in Marshalltown at 11:00 a.m. with a public visitation held from 10:00 a.m. until service time.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Saint Jude's Hospital in Kathy's name.  For condolences please visit www.Mitchellfh.com or call (641-844-1234).

Kathy was born in San Diego, California on April 14, 1943 to her proud parents, Nick and Helen (Brent) Giannetto.  She attended Northern Arizona University and received her Master's degree of Education.  She taught English as a second language for 16 years, teaching kindergarten through eighth grade.  Before her teaaching, she was a travel agent and woned Travel Agents International in Marshalltown for many years.  She was a traveler spending time in Chicago, Phoenix, Marshalltown, and Ankeny while residing in New Orleans.  She was always willing to accept any challenge and was led by her gift of creativity.  Her family was everything to her, even as her children grew up and made their own lives, she would always take time to visit and stay in touch with them.  She touched many lives inher years and will be missed by her family and countless friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Tom (holly) Zeuthen of Ankeny, Iowa, and Eric (Lynn Ackerman) Zeuthen of Lisle, Illinois;  grandchildren Drake, Logynn, and Evan Zeuthen; siblings Gloria (Dave) Hines of Chagrin Falls, Ohio and their children Julie, Mark, Shannon, Kristen and Nick ( Dottie) Giannetto of Ankeny, Iowa; and her beloved dog Bailey who was considered a third child.

She is preceded in death by her parents Nick and Helen and many aunts and uncles.
