Elizabeth Smuck December 11, 1943 - January 16, 2017

Elizabeth "Liz" Smuck (Green), 73, passed away peacefully at Grandview Heights Rehab and Healthcare on January 16, 2017. Funeral services will be held on Sunday January 22, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Saturday January 21, 2017 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home from 6 - 8:00 pm. Liz was born on December 11, 1943 to Earl and Clarice (Crumpler) Green in Marshalltown, Iowa. She was one of three children that was raised in the family residence in Marshalltown. Liz attended Marshalltown School Systems and graduated with the class of 1962. After graduation Liz was united marriage to Kenneth (Kenny) Smuck in 1964. The two would have their first child Kim in 1965. Liz worked at the Iowa Veteran Home until April 1972 when she had her second child Kris. She then worked at Kresge's which became Kmart where she worked until she retired after 27 years. In Liz's free time she enjoyed a ceramics class that she took and in the process made many beautiful works of art. She also enjoyed reading, and above all spending time with her family and her cats Mike and Ike.

Left to cherish Liz's memory are her daughters Kris (Bill) Chapman and Kim (Ron) Snyder, her lifelong friend Judy Vokoun, grandson Brandon Snyder, sister Donna Green, brother Bill Green, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Kenneth, and parents Earl and Clarice.
