Cheryl K. Meling, 58

Cheryl . Meling, 58 of 601 Union St., died suddenly Saturday evening June 14, 2003, at the Marshalltown Medical & Surgical center.

Services are set for Thursday, June 19, at the Estel-Perrin-Avey Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Shomo officiating.  Buriel will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.  Friends may call at the Funeral Home Wednesday from 5 to 8 P.M. with the family being present from 6 to 8.

She was born in Clarion, Ia on September 20, 1944, the daughter of Jack and Ila Mae Downing Patterson.

In 1964 she united in marriage to Lewis R. Meling who preceded her in death in March 2002.

Three children survive, Raymond and wife Cassondra Meling of Marshalltown and their children Brandon, Blake, Nicholas, and Raeann.  Shelly, Mrs. Scott Vandraska and their children Briar, and Tysen of Cedar Rapids and Brad and his wife Carey Meling and their children Cheyenne and Austin also of Marshalltown.

Her parents and one brother, Kenneth, preceded her in Death. 

Raised and educated in Marshalltown she graduated from the Marshalltown High School in 1962, and after her children were born attended classes at Marshalltown Community College to become a C.N.A. at the Iowa Veterans Home.  She had worked there for several years.

Her free time was spent with her family and she enjoyed doing things with her grandchildren.
