Kendra Lou Waddle, age 65, of Los Altos, California, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2009 at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, CA. She was born on August 16, 1944, in Boone, IA. She was the 2nd child of two born to Ralph M. Wilson and Naida Ruth Valentine Wilson. Kendra grew up in Marshalltown, IA and graduated from Marshalltown high school in 1962. She attended Cottey College and the University of Iowa. She returned to Marshalltown and married Haskell T. Waddle of Norman, OK on June 30, 1968. They moved to St. Louis, MO in 1975. They moved to Los Altos, CA in 1977.

She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and friend. She was always full of love, joy and wisdom to share. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Kendra and Haskell raised two children, Neil Valentine and Alexa Kallie. She was an active member of the Los Altos United Methodist Church in Mothers Day Out, Starfire, and United Methodist Women Harvest Fair. She developed gourd art with the Calabash Club. She was a past president of PEO chapter UB, Sunnyvale, CA. She was initiated into her Mother’s Chapter BB in Marshalltown, Iowa on January 4, 1963

She was preceded in death by her mother Naida Ruth. She is survived by: father Ralph Wilson of Mesa, AZ, husband, Haskell, children Neil of San Diego and Alexa Waddle Sims and husband Jacob of Portland, OR, and brother Ralph Valentine Wilson and wife Marilyn of Mesa, AZ and their three children Deborah Ruth Moore, Bradley Thiele Wilson and Abigail Anne Wilson-Skowronek and their spouses and children.

Los Altos United Methodist Church located at 655 Magdalena Ave. Los Altos, CA 94024. Officiating was Rev. Mark Bollwinkel and Rev. Dirk Damonte. A celebration of Kendra’s life was held after the service at her home in Los Altos, CA. Arrangements were by the Spangler Mortuaries at 399 S. San Antonio Rd., Los Altos, CA.
