Carol Harsha (Dunn)

I had a blast at the reunion! It was great seeing all of you again. Special thanks to the committee members for making it happen. I would like to see a get together at 35 years, even if it's just a picnic or whatever. Could there be a form posted for people to sign up if they want a 35 and if they could help with it? Anyway, I've got pictures from the reunion. If you had your picture taken with me and would like a copy, send me your email. Mine is: carol50501@yahoo.com

Class of '79 What a great turnout! Thanks to the committee and their spouses for their hard work and making all feel welcome. Also, to the many who traveled and spent their time and money to get back to Marshalltown.
Also to Denice(Leavy)and Dave Decker for covering the burgers and drinks at the Legion for golf. Our group didn't win (Haney fixed it!) but we had the best music in our cart thanks to Kriegel and Carrie Welter.
All the events were nice, but the true fun was all the b.s. and catching up and putting old faces with new names or new faces with old names? Didn't get to everyone but this forum and website have been a nice way to fill in the gaps- post those photos and keep adding to it!
Sounds like there is some chatter about a 35th. Not a bad idea as 10 years seems like a whole decade away! Just keep it simple , I think our classmates will show up!
And who knew Taylor's Maid-Rites were so sacred? "I can accept the presence of ketchup, but I can never condone it's use!"

My fiancé Lori Harris and I had a great time this weekend. Thanks to the committee for all of their hard work. I need to work harder next time at names. I was embarrassed more than once for not remembering a name that I simply should have.

We are a blessed group as I hear we have some of the best people, partiers and definitely one of the best reunion classes. Many thanks to the Deckers for their hospitality during the golf outing on Friday! Thanks Dave and Denise Decker for your hospitality.

Looking forward to seeing all of you the next time!

Thanks to the committee for doing such a great job. Everything was just perfect.
Like Cindy, my family has been out of Marshalltown for a long, long time. Being home is bittersweet with memories of my family and home. (and KFC!)
I was so happy to see all of you, we had a terrific group of people in our class then and now.

Thank-you to the committee members that worked so hard to pull off such a great reunion. A small group pulled off a wonderful time for so many of us that attended. Your efforts were so appreciated. It was a fantastic turn out thanks to all your months of planning. I so enjoyed seeing classmates and catching up. Congratulations on a job well done.

I can't thank the committee members enough for all they did to make the reunion such a great success. Events like this take a lot of effort, and unfortunately the people who do most of the work don't get to relax and enjoy themselves nearly as much as they deserve to. I sincerely appreciate everything each of you did. It was a weekend I will fondly look back on as long as my memory holds up. Those of you who saw me squint to read your name tag know that may not be very long.

I think as we get older, we value old friendships so much more, and we appreciate how lucky we were to grow up in a place like Marshalltown. Thanks to everyone who made it back. It was great to see all of you. My wife and I had a blast.

Class of 79'
I am back in the valley of Heat and have just got my self back to life after having one of the best weekends that I can remember. All of the committee members are to be thanked for doing the work throughout the year. My husband Dave had an amazing time talking to a lot of you guys and he commented that "If I had those kind of people in High school as friends I would want to go back to my reunion too." I became 16 again a few times over the weekend and it felt pretty good! I will always be grateful that when my parents came to America in the 50's that they landed in Marshalltown. It was a great place to start my life. To all of you that still reside there it is still a wonderful place to live!! Please come to visit Dave and our kids anytime (I suggest not the summer months, I am not here anyway). Hope you all have a healthy year and I look forward to seeing some of you out west. You are all very near and dear to me.
Fondly,
Denise Leavy Decker and Family

Hey everyone, forgot to tell you about the pictures we are compiling together to have a slide show, we need you to send them to us in separate emails, we want golf ones, Friday, Saturday, and of course Terry Harris after party ones, send any extra ones that you are not posting on your own site to csmith@iowafolks.com but we encourage everyone to put some of them on their own page on the site for all to see also...thanks it was a great turnout, I appreciate that everyone showed up, it was my greatest fear what if no one comes...no fear any longer, we still know how to party.. I'm still recovering.

I just put my hat on that I wore Friday night and noticed my "Class of 1979" pin attached. Over the weekend it has come to my attention that Terry Harris had a lot to do with providing them. I'm not sure if our weekend charges paid for them, or they were out of pocket to Terry. Whatever the facts are, I just want to thank whoever was the mastermind, and thank you for the class pin! It is much appreciated.

Thanks a million to every one that had a hand in making Friday night and Saturday night so much fun!!!!!! It was great to see so many people on Friday and Saturday night I hadn't seen in years. Marshalltown has changed so much and one good thing about all of us is yes we are all lots older, but we are all in all a pretty awesome bunch of people as we are the class of 1979! I didn't get a chance to say "Hi" to everyone but those I did see it was Very Good To See You All!!!!
Those that didn't come please try your best to come to our 40th, and I hope more will come to this one!
Thank you, thank you again to all the committee that put out all the wonderful food and beverages, it was all wonderful!!!!!! You all out did your selfs!!!!
As always at our Friday nights we are the beer drinking people and had to get more beer I noticed, he, he, he! What a good time!!!!!

All, Back home and back at work, BLEH ! LOL

I just wanted to say that my wife and I had a wonderful time, could not have asked for a much better experience, planning was great, thanks for all the hard work everyone did to pull this together !

Also, thanks for those of you that helped me remember things I forgot I remembered LOL This was a good time to both catch up with those who we have kept up with, and to
revisit old friendships where after going separate ways, friends have lost track of each other. Just seeing a name tag can spark a flood of memories, things we may have not "forgotten" but that have been filed away waiting to be called back out.

Look forward to the next one !

C yas there ;)

I will get some pics posted in the next while, I seem to be missing some pictures but maybe did not take them, it's hell getting old right ?

Also...if anyone wants the pics from the 25th reunion, let me know, I took a bunch of pics at that one and had them published in a gallery, but I did not do a good job getting the word out. if anyone wants any of those pics, I can try to resurrect them from one of my server backups.

Pictures are on the site now, enjoy, send me more, sorry it took so long, I needed my I.T. God (Chris Smith) to help me out....enjoy the music with the slide show. Send me more and I will add them, missing a lot of pictures from Friday Night. Send them to me now not Chris. Gotta love a smart man like Chris Smith to help us out...give him the credit for figuring out the path we needed, not normal English to attach these pictures to the site. He has to be an alien to speak Commuter English. Thanks again Chris

Anymore reunion pics out there?? I know a lot of people were taking them...it'd be fun to see them all.

The presentation idea is a good one, too Andy!!

ps...I still refuse to try ketchup on a Maidrite!!

Andy,
We might be able to get it online; it depends on the format.

But we do not want to put it online without permission. I know he was trying to sell the DVD; putting it online might hurt that effort.

Regards,

Chris

Beth Klinkefus (Costello)

Hi all,
I'm sorry to have missed this one, especially when I had planned to come with family and then a work trip blew away the plan. I was pissed since I even had Dean's Ann Arbor brewpub care package ready to go....Just was in Mtown for my parents' 50 anniv party and on the way back to MI stopped at a Maid Rite near the River that offered not only ketchup but also a swiss rite, a cheese rite, pretty much everything. How can they destroy that brand!! Our reality back in the early 80's in Mtown ER was that if any of us working on the ambulance on the night shift got a maid rite - we would have a CPR call. I love seeing all of you in these pages and I would love to plan to come to a 35th reunion.
Beth
