Mike,
You are worrying too much. I have called him Bob for years now. He was much help to me when he was our Commissioner. I would just pop in to say hello when I didn't have other business with his office. He is a great and wonderful friend.

Mike,

I think everyone thought it was quite funny. We wouldn't tease you about it if we didn't. It was one of our great moments to remember there! Looking forward to the next dinner. Be sure and remind us when and where! Debbie

Hey Mike,
Don't forget about little ole me, Jane. I've got to be your back up singer right? Along with......? Yeah, I kidded horribly all the time, but they all say that they love me. I guess I finally started believing it. You should too. Love you too!

Hey everyone ...we are still plannning to "meet to eat" on saturday, Sept. 27. UT plays Auburn at Auburn...we may have to cancel if they play at night, unless some want to miss part of the game & go eat anyway. I'm fine with that! But, for now...hopefully everyone will look at their schedule to see if you can make it! We had so much fun last week...with our waiter, I felt like "Elaine" on Seinfeld standing in line at the Soup Nazi kitchen. :-) Mike - glad you are back!!!!

Not sure if I will get to go but isn't there a restaurant that has big screens where we could watch the game while we ate, that might not be too noisy. I know they are out there but wanted to get your opinion as to which one might be a good one....

Gary Marshall

Mike -- Hey my friend, as everyone knows Cindy & I couldn't make it to the reunion. However, what I've "heard" from this forum and from other folks who've e-mailed me at my vicarmarshall address, I would say: (1) You were a huge part of the success and fun of the evening (2) These people love & care for you (3) Bob probably was very cool with it all (I've called him Bob for years .... I figured if he could call me "Marshall", I could call him "Bob".)

Re: the Tennesee vs Florida game .... I know God has a sense of humor to put me just 30 minutes away from UF and "The Swamp". My first week in Ocala, my parishhioners could have cared less about my theology, administrative style, etc. All they wanted to know: "Are you a Gator or a Seminole?" When I said I was a Volunteer, I thought they were gonna send for an exorcist. Pray for the Vols. Pray for me. If we win I will be way too arrogant to preach. If we lose I will be in such a bad mood I shouldn't preach. (this really is a strange "business")

hey all don't know if anyone has ate there but beef o'brady's has like 30 tv's throughout the restaurant and the food isn't bad it's down next to the new walmart just thought i would throw that in the mix but whereever is fine for me

Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike - that is all I have to say about that! We love ya Bud!

Gary, in your business don't you have to pray for everybody and their teams? Everytime I say I am a "Volunteer" I end up with another job! They just don't get it up here in Virginia!

Sandy Perry - are you out there?

Roger,

I looked Susan Lawson up in the church directory. She lives on Lodge Street in Alcoa. I have seen her at church but didn't realize we had graduated together. I will mention the website to her when I see her again. It continues to amaze me that I didn't know a third of the people we graduated with....that is definitely the bad thing about large schools.

Hey Gang,
Do you all like pizza? What about one of the pizza places like Mr. Gatti's or the new Gatti's places they built....I know the old ones have big screen TV's and good pizza. The one on Kingston Pike right up from Papermill, has lots of tables in one big room with a huge screen and if we asked them if we could reserve a portion of the room or got there early, this might work. I think this is plenty big enough. We could talk, change tables, eat, watch the game, etc. What do you all think????? Just a suggestion....

Jane I had thought about maybe Gaddis but thought there may be too many children, too many birthday parties, etc.

09/09/08 07:48 PM #222

Susan Jane Loftis (Gracia)

Diane,
If we agree on it, we could call and check it out and see if anyone has it reserved for a party (kids) on that date. In the one I was talking about, the front room, it's usually mostly adults, the kids go on the side where the other tv's are. They put the movies on for them.

Now, for the one in Maryville (West Broadway) they have those extra rooms now and I know you can reserve them for parties. Aren't we a party? There's a tv in it and we can get them to put it on the game. We would have to jump on it though..... What do you think? I would be glad to help, just let me know. I just need to know a time when we know.

Jane

Sounds like a plan. You can check into it if you want and get some details. Let everyone know, at this point we still don't know what time the game is though..

09/09/08 08:09 PM #224

Susan Jane Loftis (Gracia)

OK. I'll call right now and see what I can find out. Later....

09/09/08 08:39 PM #225

Susan Jane Loftis (Gracia)

Ok guys, this is what I found out. Since they are so busy on Saturdays, they don't take reservations. Anthony said that if we filled up a room or whatever, that we could of course stay there as long as the game was on if we were eating, etc. Now the game as long as it isn't on paperview will be on there is a given because they have all the channels. I asked him that to be sure. The problem we have is that we need to find out what time the game is and just get some people to go early and same the room until we all arrive. I don't mind at all to help with this...

Hello, little buddies, I am still slaving away at Women's Times. Actually I finally said "Enough!" and put away my notes in preparation for leaving this joint. Decided to see who was saying what on this forum before shutting down for the night.
Anyway, I checked with Dr. Butts - Leonard Butts, sports writer extraordinaire — and he said the time for the game has not yet been set by AU and therefore the TV station has not been finalized. I'll try to keep check and post the info when it's available.
Gatti's in Murvul sounds good. I might actually leave the hermit hole again if family stuff doesn't come up that day.

09/09/08 10:57 PM #229

Debbie Pickel (Harper)

Jane...you are just way too cool for checking on all of this for us! Gattis in Murvul is great for me too! I would think, since we are playing Auburn, that it would "not" be pay per view...but, hey what do I know!! I can help in any way....just let me know!

Gary - I'm really glad they didn't call for an exorcist...we need all the Vols in Florida that we can get! (although we wish you were in Tennesee!)....

I hope we get a lot of folks to come to watch the Auburn game (if the game time works out)! We might even have to get Debbie (McKinney) to do a Volunteer cheer for us!!

Bobby Bradley

Mike no need to feel bad. I can tell you for sure I have called Mr Davis Bob.You know thats not bad because most people call me BOB an I dont like for people to call me Mr Bradley. Because my dad is Mr Bradley you know though if you want to call Mr Bradley it will be ok.Mike you did a great job speaking at the reunion. Kay rackin pinion sounds good to to me.I call them steering gears easy to spell but not the same thing.

Janet: Thanks. I thought you might still have your directory.
Sept. 27 sounds like a good time. Hope my schedule permits us joining in.
I'm having wisdom teeth extracted Thursday morning at 0900. Y'all remember me! :-P

Photo CDs are ready for the people who left a blank one last week: Susan DeLozier, Carolyn Lane, Mike Thomas, Sandy Whaley, Janet Lidvall/Pat Cathcart, Teresa Williams and Diane Welch. Jon, I'll most likely get yours done over the weekend, but if I get on the home computer before that, I'll send you an e-mail.

Our photo package is in Blount County Voice this week. They should be available in a rack in the reception area at The Times today.

09/10/08 02:06 PM #233

Diane Welch (Welch)

Linda there is a Knoxville Voice here at the hospital along with Blount County Today. Is Blount Voice a different paper, and if so can you just get it at the Times Office?

09/10/08 02:18 PM #234

Linda Braden (Albert)

Diane, I didn't know there was a Knoxville Voice. Blount Voice is different, it's part of The Times. I checked earlier and the latest issue with the reunion photos is definitely at the reception desk up here at The Times. When you stop by to get your CD, you can get one. They're free.
