Good morning everyone. Things are good here in North Carolina. Little Lydia is settling in and we are all enjoying her. She went to the doctor yesterday and is back up to her birth weight of 6 lbs. 1 oz. She is adorable, what can I say she take after her gramma dew....
I'm still recovering from my fall, butt hurts like heck but all in all much better. Hoping to have a good week.
Hope you all do to. Everyone take care of yourselves.

Hello, everybody,

I'm still around, just up to my eyeballs in work. Writing the mental health series took a lot of time and thought - it was exhausting physically, mentally and emotionally. Except for the one story in Women's Times, the rest were on top of my usual work load. Now, I'm working on domestic violence ... Believe me, November is going to be devoted to home decor, knitting, cooking and much less demanding stories.

I just want to emphasize what Sandy and Susan said. Mental illness is a very real problem for men, women and children, but the stigma attached makes people hesitate to get help and the faith community makes it even harder. I find it interesting that leaders of a church can pop pills for everything from high blood pressure to heart disease to indigestion yet when someone takes medication for a brain illness, these same people tell them their faith is weak and they need to pray more. In the meantime, the person not only is suffering from a treatable illness, they are consumed by guilt because they think they have let God down with their weak faith. Guess what. God already knows we are weak. It's no surprise to him. That's why He put resources in place for us to get better.

OK, I'm off the soapbox now. Bet you guys wish you hadn't asked where I was, huh?

Diane, the baby is beautiful. I'll be praying for her to thrive and grow into a woman after God's own heart! I'll also be praying for you to get over your fall, as well as for Mark in the recurrence of his cancer and Mike in his stress-related illnesses. Stress can kill ya, buddy, be sure to find some coping strategies so you can get some relief. That can also fit under the umbrella of mental illness, by the way.

Back to the salt mines now.

Janet Anderson Campbell's mother passed away Sunday. Her name is Carolyn Anderson and the obit is in today's Daily Times. Please be in prayer for the family.

Mike: I feel your pain. I was having all the "heart attack symptoms" about a year ago. Bad family history of heart problems. My doc (Bruce Allsop, one of the greatest Christian doctors you will ever meet) scheduled me for a heart cath. No problems. Said I had the heart of a 35 year old. Thought maybe it was stress so I cut back to 70-75 hours/week. That was the trick!
So sorry to hear about Mark. Prayers for him.
Diane: Hope your hiney continues to get better. Also, hope Lydia continues to improve and get stronger every day.

Melinda Brown: Welcome aboard!

Sandy Smith (Dockery)

Roger, you cut back to 70-75 hrs. a week.!!!!!!! I recall reading where one weekend you mowed the lawn, washed 4 vehicles and ironed clothes then went to a wedding. Is this what you call rest?

Susan DeLozier

Hey Everyone, I just hung up from talking to Mark Sterling. He said to tell everyone Hello and here is the story: His cancer has never left. He has cancer in his lungs and liver. He has changed Doctors and is going to the Cancer Center of America in ILL. He is very impressed with this center as they are being aggresive trying to get the lung cancer under control and the liver - there are several tumors and he said that you can actually live with 80% of your liver gone. They are treating him with a day of chemo every three weeks and flying him to ILL at their expense. So, yes, lets keep him in our prayers.

On another note, Mark told me that Mark Payne (as some of refer to him as Mark Harmon) Mother passed away, I think sometime last week. Keep him in your prayers too.

Today, my stepdaughter left to go back to Tampa and my husband leaves to go back to "hell" as he calls it. Please keep him in your prayers too. Love you all.....

Liz, I wrote you a long note, but it didn't come through I guess.

Pat C. I have been sending you notes. Are you getting them?

10/15/08 12:59 PM #420

Susan DeLozier

I know people are sending notes, I have gotten several message from Class Creator these past couple of weeks that they have been doing some upgrades/changes/improvemnets due to the popularity. Sorry if messages aren't coming thru right now. Liz, please don't feel that way, we all love you and are so glad that you have joined the conversation. Sometimes with our busy lives we don't get everything done in a day that we want to. Love you

Hey Liz, Just wanted to let you know that you are not forgotten. I have to use the computer at work so it hard to get back to people. My home computer crashed and I'm waiting to get it working again. I'm so glad to hear you have accepted Jesus Christ. That the most important decision you will ever make. I did it about 36 years ago. I have been blessed to be able to go to Brazil twice. Once to build a church and the next to lead music in a crusade. Don't let Satan discourage you like Susan D. said sometimes we get busy and don't talk on the forum for afew days. You want to e-mail me you can send it to MSTHOMAS@UTMCK.EDU. I work at UT Hospital in Knoxville. Please contact me hereor leave me a note on the forum. I will get back to you as soon as I can. I forgot to put . com on my Email address. Take care and always remember Jesus is always there and willing to listen.

Liz - Remember me? I was looking thru the yearbook for some reason the other night and saw your photo (I think it was Jr. Miss). You were always so cute. Great to hear your news. Hope you have a great church there in WV.
I use the computer here at work (don't tell on me Linda) so I just listen in every once in a while.

I'm as lapse as everybody else and haven't done this but don't you all think it would be nice for everyone to put their photo in their profile? Then maybe if we pass each other on the street we'll know who we are.

Saw Carolyn Lane at Fall Festival crafts. Isn't it funny how we don't see each other for 35 years and then we're every where! Of course it may be we just don't know anybody.

10/15/08 05:57 PM #423

Linda Braden (Albert)

Joyce, I won't tell on you if you don't tell on me for using the work computers to check personal messages. Just FYI for the rest of the gang, we do have permission to "play" when we're on breaks or at lunch. That's a good idea to have current photos. Susan, could your niece take photos from the reunion and make head shots for the profiles of people who were there? Maybe run a strip like you do for the "in memory" page, with the names as text boxes on the photos. Between us, we should have a good, clear shot of everybody who attended. Those who didn't come could send something in and be included, too.

Jane, I forgot to tell you that I did get your CD and I'll put the photos on it as soon as I can, probably this weekend. I'll let you know when it's ready. For everyone else, I haven't forgotten about the cheat sheet for the group photo. That's another of those things I'll do when I get "a round tuit." (Around here, they call it "Linda time" - one speed, slow!)

Liz, it's good to know you're doing well. Keep checking in, you never know who's got an opinion to share.

Susan Jane Loftis (Gracia)

Hey Liz,
Didn't you get my e-mail? I sent you one a few days after I read your message on the forum. You better not quit writing and go away! I'll come after you!!!!! Now, everybody is telling you that it takes a few days for someone to answer your message on the forum. That's right. Hey, don't feel left out, I do too sometimes. I have written messages and I get ignored sometimes so, don't feel like the lone ranger, ok? Just keep writing and someone will listen. That's what I do.
Love you Liz! Write me back!

Linda, thanks very much! I'm not in a hurry. Just when you get a chance.

Everybody take care!
Love,
Jane

I am still in Durham loving on my beautiful granddaughter, Lydia. I love being a grandmother as far as Lydia goes, however, I hate feeling like a grandmother physically, broken tailbone and all. I am just whining. I am lucky that wasn't more broken besides my hiney and my spirit. I am blessed and I know it. Everyone take care. Got to work....

Pat Cathcart (Flynn)

Kay C - I just got back from vacation and am ready to go on another after trying to catch up with work. I've not been getting any messages that you have sent me messages. If you have my personal e-mail, send them there. I think this system may be overloaded at times and messages are not getting through. If you don't have my e-mail let me know or check with Christy B.

Liz - I don't know if you remember me or not, but we go way back to Fairview. Although when we got to high school we did not see a lot of our classmates from there. I'm glad to hear all is going well for you.

I'm like some, even if I do get to check this site, I don't always have time to respond to others messages. I'm glad for those who have good news and will remember those who need prayer.

Let me just add a note concerning email addresses. When you go into the tab of "Classmates Profile" and click on the person's name you want to send an email to, you will get their profile page. Scroll down to the bottm of the page and you can send that person an email, as long as they have completed the information on the profile page and have filled in their email address. You can give that person your email address if you want to contact them other than thru the Everett73.com website and they can do the same. Any email that you send to a person thru this website can only be viewed by the person you are sending it to.
Yes, the website is overloaded and that is why there are so many updates being made to it right now. NO ONE ever anticipated the volume of use.
And, Linda, yes, I will talk to my genius niece about doing some work on the website. Once our reunion was over, I was in charge of the "Bank of Maryville Employee" reunion and then my husband was in for 2 weeks, so I will try to get back to the website for some work. Thank you for your suggestions.
Keep talking everyone, it is a fun way to communicate.

Sandy Smith: Digging ditches at home is recreation...it's away from work. I'm on a mission. Dena and I attended a Dave Ramsey class at our church and we are working feverishly (sp) toward retirement.

Liz: can you believe we went from 8th grade truckers to grownups with families? On this board is me, you, Linda Cook, and Clarinda Coulter. Go Fairview!

Diane: Sent you an email. Hope Lydia continues to improve every day.

Carolyn Lane: where the heck are you?

David Smith: as much as we used to look out for each other you would think you would log on here just to make sure I was alive.

Funny story: Joey and I were going into the courthouse about 10 years ago and up ahead I saw Bill Brewer. I told Joey, "Here comes Bill Brewer. He is a judge in Blount County." Bill came up and after exchanging big greetings (hadn't seen each other in many years) he said, "I can't believe after all these years I haven't had you in court." At which I told him to kiss my a**. Joey was standing there stunned! The look on his face was priceless!!!! After Bill left I told Joey that Bill and I went to school together. Everett Key Club's finest! Joey said, "Oh my gosh! I could just see that man putting you in jail!" I assured him that I knew enough on Bill to avoid jail. It sure was funny at the time.

Off to bed. Up at midnight to go back for another 16.

A blessed weekend to all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So much discussion about messages not coming through. I still believe John Henry Sebastian is sabotoging all of this site. Ha! Ha!

See, didn't I tell you that everybody ignored me? Not a single person has said anything to me in a week or so! I'm just going to load up and take my toys home! HaHa!
