Hi All, I too was shocked at couple of the names that showed up on the "IN MEMORY" list. We are all so lucky to have had each other for at least 4 years and for some many more before that. I can't wait till the Reunion. I hope we have a really good turnout.
I've been sending emails on classmates.com so that will help get the word out more for sure.

Thanks to the folks who put this together. Such fun to hear what's been happening in the lives of old friends.

I've managed to keep in touch with Cyndy Meyer, Lucy Green, Arlene Butler, Patty Flairty and Leeann Spangler through the years...

LG, LS, AB and PF and I met in Media a couple of years back for the annual Halloween Parade and had a blast driving around. We've also had mini reunions in Chicago and MA. It doesn't take much to get us started...never did!

Again, thanks for this opportunity!
Robin

Hi Robin, I'm sure you will let the girls know about this reunion if they haven't heard already. See, this is how it gets started. Let's get this party started.
We need everyone to get the word out.
Can't wait.
So good to hear from you too.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for setting up the web site. Finally a place to connect. I thought our class would stay disjointed forever. Look forward to a great reunion.

Hi,

Classmates.com is a pretty good place to connect with old friends. Many of my friends were either a grade or two ahead or behind me. There is a fee for this service. I do really like this PHS Class of 1973 web site and hope it will stay up after the reunion is over.

Gordon, that is our plan. As long as people are using the website, we'll keep it running. I am blown away by the website activity so far. It's only been up for 10 days!
I suppose after 35 years--we all have a lot to catch up on.
Enjoy the website!

I want to Thank Patti Brown for all her work on this site. I know it was all her. Eric has a hard time turning on a PC.
It is fun to see names that I have not seen in 30 or 40 years. I am sure we all look the same ha, ha. Looking forward to seeing talking and have a drink with all of you.

My friend, Guy LaChance, might be interested in visiting this web site. How can he visit as a guest? Guy went to Rose Tree and Media Junior High with us.

Also, is it possible to get higher quality grade school photos emailed to me? I lost those photos a couple of moves ago.

Does anyone have the class photos for the other grade school teachers?

Hi Jeff! I have a few Rose Tree Elementary pictures somewhere around here. I'll have to dig them out and get my daughter to help me post them. (I'm not that computer literate!) Jackie

Thanks to Eric and Patti for putting this site together. Perry (Hartranft) phoned me last week to tell me about it. As I've not been to any of the reunions, it was fun to see what people are doing now, even though Perry has kept me up-to-date on some. I, too, was saddened to learn about those that have passed. I was shocked to hear about Gail Clements, and wondered what happened....We lost touch after she got married. Julie (Weins) Nelsen

Thank you Holly for making me aware of this WEB Site ... and thank you to whomever put all of this together as it must have been a lot of work. Takes me back a few years and the "In Memory" section is a reminder that we are not getting any younger. Will miss Cindy Libby - my first "go steady" girlfriend at Media in 7th grade who was taller than me at the time. Not sure that I will make reunion but hope you all have a great time.

So Eric...first off... thank you for taking the time making the effort to do all of this!! Is is tremendously fun and very touching to see as the names get checked off and what people are writing!

Now down to the important and unanswered questions!
Why did you decide to do this?
Were there others who helped and what made them want to do this?
How did you get your wife Patti? to do all of this and do we know her?
How are you doing all of this from Florida?

So I will look forward to your answers!:) Whatever they are you have unleashed something really great! and many thanks from all of us!

Arlene,
It seemed like it was time. We noticed a buzz of interest for a 35th year reunion on classmates.com, among what would become our "Planning Committee". After two meetings in Media, PA, the ball was in motion. Much credit is due to Debbie Barrow Leiti, Jane Whibley Cropper, Shelley Dugan, Pat Hoopes, and Kathy Blosenski Grubb for contributing their time to putting this in motion.
My wife, Patti Murray Brown, is a PHS '80 graduate. (Her sisters Marie & Judy Murray graduated PHS '74). Patti is actually having a blast working and building the website as a practice for her future 30th class reunion...so, we're her "guinea pig".
Working this from Florida doesn't seem to be an issue in this electronic age. As participation continues to grow among our classmates, our website will too. So, spread the word and enjoy the website! Best Regards, Eric

CLASSMATES:

Get busy and dig out your old photo albums and dust off the boxes in the attic or basement. Find those precious photos from your elementary through high school years. Do they include any classmates? Post them on your profile page. We want to see them! This is the perfect place to bring them out of hiding. Remember, you can post as many pictures you want on your profile page. There is no limit.

The SENIOR PORTRAITS posted on your profile page in the upper right corner, and the ELEMETARY SCHOOL CLASS pictures need to be posted by the web administrator on the "Grade School Photos" page. Click on the "FAQ's/Privacy Policy" page to find out how to do this.

Scanned pictures in JPEG format work best.

Eric,
I would like to add a big THANK YOU for getting this started. Lucy Green was the one who told me about it at church this morning. Thanks to all of the hard work done by others as well. It is amazing how this is spreading. It is GREAT! Hope to see and get a chance to catch up with you at the reunion. I am already "working on" my husband, Don (remember Temple rowing?), to get him to come with me. I will get the word out to all that I can.

Gordon (Jeff) Swineford

Thanks for setting up this web site! I have been having great fun reconnecting with a good number of my old classmates. I consider all of my classmates old friends, and if any of you make it out to Tucson, Arizona lets get together.

Does anyone have an interest in additional activities such as visiting Rose Tree, Media, Penncrest or any historic sites in the area such as Pinocchio's Pizza or the Liberty Bell? I am not sure we could get permission to take a tour of any of our old schools but maybe someone could make an inquiry if there is enough interest. Maybe a small donation to RTM would help.

There is some really funny stuff under "Looking Back at 1973". It was amazing at how much of it is true comparing 1973 to 2008.

I thought some of you might be interested in this. The following is a link to a tour the class of 68' took of Penncrest back in 2003:

You have to cut and past the link.

Jeff,

Penncrest High and other schools will be on "holiday" leave at the time of our reunion, between Christmas & New Years. I'm sure the schools are closed then. Good thought, but doubtful.

But, I know we too will definitely be making a Pinnochio visit during our stay!!

Debra Schmidt (De Masi)

Hi Eric,

Many thanks for starting this site.

Our class would have a difficult time recognizing the schools in Rose Tree Media after all the renovations, especially Penncrest. Must tell you all that it was a lot more fun as a student in the early 1970's than it is today. This is said after working as the school nurse at Penncrest from 2004 - 2006. So much we got away with years ago!

Hope to see many of you at the reunion.

Debbie

YEARBOOK SUPPLEMENT

Hey, I'm giving a shout out to any classmate that might have a copy of our yearbook supplement. I believe we got one? If you have one, would you email me and we'll arrange to have it added to the website?

Thank you,
EB...really

09/21/08 11:36 PM #25

Debra Schmidt (De Masi)

Yes, there was a year book supplement mailed while most of us were away at freshman year in college, or elsewhere. No, I don't have it.
Would you like a copy of the Penncrest Lions vs. Marple Newtown football program from October 21st, 1972? It comes complete with pictures of the football team, coaches, and special teams.
Let me know.
Debbie

I must be getting old and sentimental, because keeping in touch now means more than it used to. Maybe the lesson is, that life is precious. I look at the list of class members who have left us and I have a tough time imagining them as anything other than 17 years old with the world at their feet.

Gordon (Jeff) Swineford

I have a question for Eric regarding sending messages to classmates. I have noticed that sometimes the screen is blank below the "Reply Sent" and sometimes my message is in that area. Are my messages getting through? Is there a way to cc my message to my email?

Jeff

09/24/08 12:21 PM #28

Jeff,
I would have to assume that they are. I am told that the website programmers (Class Creator) are working on changing the Message Forum abilities. Soon we will have email threads and be able to read our "sent" messages. I don't know what else to tell you.
