Jeff,

I was up in the attic for couple hours today, I have an album with all my classes from grade K-6 at Roosevelt. I have seen the album in the past year or so, I'll post when I find them.

For those looking for old photos... I can add 5th grade, Miss Sermatti's class and 6th grade Mrs. Baum's class from Rose Tree Elementary... I'll need to scan them and I can email them to someone to post... I'll try to get the scans done sometime over the weekend... Great site BTW... thanks to those responsible... I was at the reunion (15th?) that happened in 1988... unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to make this one.

This has been so much fun seeing new pictures, getting to know what everyone has been up to, and getting in touch with old friends. It is a great way to generate more interest for the actual Reunion.

Does anyone know what happened to:
Nat Ritch?
Katie Kluberton? (she moved and did not graduate with us)

HI Linda,

Nat Rich just posted a limited profile in which he states he is working as a travel agent and is attending the reunion.

By the way, how are you kido?

I know Michael Carter lives in Media my brother Chris see's him from time to time. I wonder where Debbie Hampton, Linda Ferguson and Linda Cooper, Debbie Scott, Janice Briggs, and Dorthy King are. I went to Media Elementary before it became Rosetree Media I wish I had some of those class pictures :(

I have been corresponding via written letter with Ginger Frank. She does not use the internet. I do know she just became a grandmother for the first time WOW!

In response to DC, Hah! The old Media crowd. I'll have to stop by my Dad's to try and find some old Media Elementary Class photos. The family moved from Upper Providence to Media in the middle of 3rd grade year. I'm in the RTE Mrs. Ward 3rd grade photo next to my childhood love Barbara Jean Schultz (j/k, well maybe not). Hmmm, I wonder if I was in the ME 3rd grade photo? I still remember the 5th grade or was it 6th grade class trip to Williamsburg, VA and some how ending up in Janice Briggs' and Gloria Grimditch's room!

Hi Steve,

The Rose Tree Elementary sixth grade class trip was to New York City. Does anyone remember looking over the railing on top of the Empire State Building? Or walking into the Lincoln Center?
Coming from the Ridley School district in sixth grade, I thought RTM was pretty great to take the class to NYC. Would anyone have a picture or two? Remember Mrs. Kennedy? And Mrs. Grossman, the English teacher?

As for other members of our class who live around Media . . .Janice Briggs is married, with the last name of Turner. She and her husband are part owners(?) of Briggs Auction company in Booths Corner, PA.
Cathy Colburn should be in the area, I think she's involved in the insurance business.
Carol Hartman was seen in the Media Hardware store about six years ago.
Gary Cummings lives in Media and works for Neither Providence township.

We've changed so much through the years we would probably not recognize classmates if we were standing next to them.

Gary Cummings is the Nether Providence Twp. (Del. Co.) Manager. He can be reached at: Township Manager Gary Cummings, Nether Providence Township, 214 Sykes Lane, Wallingford, PA 19086. A phone number given was 610-566-4516. You can also find Gary occasionally at the Iron Hill in Media, where he has been seen a few times in the past couple years...

I remember Washington D.C. was the 5th grade class trip and New York was 6th grade although I don't remember a thing about them. Mrs. Kennedy, I do remember. She was one of those teachers I could hear yelling down the hallway and hoped I would never have her since she scared me to death. Well, of course I ended up having her for English and she turned out to be my favorite teacher up to that time. I just thought she was the best.
Same story with Mr. Mixer, 8th grade science, Media Jr. High. Could hear him yelling down the hall and was scared to death of him too, and once again, when I had him in 8th grade, he turned out to be my other favorite.

Gary Cummings has been mailed a letter, but since I sent it to his workplace (not where he resides), I didn't post it in his profile. I've heard through the grapevine that he knows about the reunion. Some people are just waiting, I suppose...

Does anyone remember Mrs. Ebersol at Penncrest? She was a rather strict old latin teacher that would get upset and yell at us. For some reason she was like the Mrs Kennedy of latin for me. Sixth grade french and seventh grade spanish were foreign languages to me. It just did not sink in. Mrs. Ebersol got me through one year of latin and retired. I ended up getting into university with only one year of a foreign language.

I remember going to Mount Vernon during our Washington trip. I also remember the long train rides.

I emailed Gary Cummings today about posting his profile and he responded -
It is on my agenda for this week! I plan to attend so will hopefully see you guys there! -Gary
So with a little bit of luck Gary will no longer be missing.

Chippy's been found and is attending, I thought he was still over there in Nether Providence (Moylan), his youngest David is on the football team if he's the same player in the DELCO Times I read about...

I or someone will have to get a hold of Vic since he's right over there in Glen Mills, where Don Hosier is...

I'm just noticing, are we missing Kathy Haughey in the Classmates Profiles? Her picture was in the yearbook and I know she didn't move before graduation. Does anyone know about her?

11/06/08 07:06 PM #44

Eric Brown

Dang, you're right! Thank you. Don't know why she was omitted, perhap she wasn't on the graduation commmencement list? Anyway, I've added Kathy Haughey and also emailed her an invite to the website. Her email was listed in the 2006 RTM directory, we'll see if she responds.

Saw Gary C. and Victor M. at the Media Old Timers Banquet last Wed. night and they are both attending the reunion.

Speaking of missing people, my mind is hazier these days, but I assume Lori Angel (sic?) moved before graduation?

Still trying to track down some MES class pictures...

Oh, yeah, and spoke with big John Scala with his pony tail, who played some semi-pro football, there too, he'll be attending also...

Hey there Steve Beebe- You may not remember me as I was a year behind you but I remember you were the TIN MAN in the sixth grade chorus play at Media Elementary. Nat Rich- SCARECROW, Michael Roberts- MAYOR OF MUNCHKINLAND,
Dottie King, Linda Cooper, Moira Porteous were WITCHES I think? It'd be fun to see pictures. Hope you can locate some. :)

This has been fun. I missed out on all of the local elementary school stuff. I moved here from NJ, right before I started 7th grade at Indian Lane.

Ron Gravina and I are old friends, and I see him all the time. He's a Dept. Manager at Riddle Hospital. I sent him an email.

Another old friend, Walt Lewis is now a medical doctor, and has a family practice at Riddle Hospital. I give him credit for a grueling career change.

To Judy,

hehe, yeah, my little sister was so scared she was crying in the audience. My mom had a picture of some of the cast that was in the DELCO Times back then that she would pull out every now and then later in life when she would ask me, "Whatever happened to this "sweet boy" I once knew?" (I always assumed she was just kidding, as I didn't think I turned out too bad...)

And don't forget, David Reed as the Cowardly Lion! I remember Moira Portious' (Dorothy) dad, or some other student's dad, working at the Philly Navy Yard and making the Tin Man suit. I thought back then, "man how did they find the time to do that!" I found out first hand much later how they did... 10 guys probably spent 2 weeks on it, but I was most thankful and thrilled to be able to wear it!!!!!

Also when I think back, I may have had a crush on Mrs. Henry, she always treated me so nice although once in a while she would let people have it if they were out of line.

I remember you, and your sister Marie also. My family actually lived near you briefly crammed into an house/apartment in like 1964 when my family was moving from UPT (from a house right across the street from Media Boro south end), before we could move into a house (dad still there)in Media north endnear the MBC/MYC (where the back yard line was UPT, and Cherry St. field) ironically.

My dad was and still is into sports and figured we'd be close to the sports places like CSF and Media (John K. Barrall, a former Pincipal at the old Media High School) field(baseball), MYC (basketball) and the Rose Tree Colts Midget Football behind Rose Tree Elementary RTES. Debbie Hampton's dad started the Colts! Saw him at the Media Old Timers banquets a few weeks ago but was still too scared of him to say Hi! (He always looked like he would chew your head off but that a h*ll of a committment to start your local midget footbal club!)

That tiny house with all those peole in it probably also fit the family "budget" as well...

I think your husband Jim was a year ahead of us, I played football with him and he was a h*ll of a good football player and is an all around good guy.

Still haven't located any MES pics but there must be someone out there who has some! Start looking MES Alum!

To Deb and Eric,

Yeah, I noticed Deb's profile had changed also, I thought how the heck do you get from Washington state to PR so quickly?

Is a hacker getting into this site somehow and changing stuff or is the "Webmaster" hittin' the heavy stuff every once in a while?

Deb, your dad being a former "Officer of the Law" probably had something to do with it, right Jack?, but he did actually seem OK to me from what I remember. My dad has mellowed also, like you said, we all do...

Plenty of star power in that play for sure! I think Nat Rich went on to get some kind of acting scholarship to college and the rest of us were legends in our own minds...

Steve- You are just full of information! I too remember when you lived on W.2nd Street. I remember thinking, wow, another big family. There were 8 of us.
I have memories of the Media Boys Club. Spent a lot of elementary years there as my dad coached basketball. Our treat for behaving was to get Bryers ice cream to take home from that little market on Monroe Street.
Media was a great place to grow up. We had the movie theatre, Glen Providence Park, the Court House was fun to roller skate around, the News Spot for penny candy, bike riding down to the school playground. Those were the days!
