Since high school, I've travelled a bit and lived in a few places (including Maui- my favorite!!) before settling in Girdwood, Alaska. I've studied Art, History, and Anthropology, but switched schools and majors alot- and never officially finished my degree. I've been married for 12 years to Guy Wade, who works as a fisheries biologist after 11 years of commercial fishing. Alaska is a breathtaking, beautiful place with long winters and lovely summers. We receive alot of snow in Girdwood (615 inches for the 08/09 season) and there is a ski resort in our town- so we ski, snowboard and snowshoe. The winters sometimes don't seem long enough! Contrary to what most believe, it's warm in the summer here- similar to springtime in Memphis. We live near Prince William Sound and Cook Inlet, so we do a little fishing- halibut, salmon, and rockfish. And shrimpin' in the sound-YUM! It's a pretty good, somewhat stress-free life up here..
