Reunion Awards

Ilene and Kenny kept us laughing all Saturday evening!  We didn't know that growing old could be so funny.  And Pharis surprised us with poems we wrote as seventh graders.  Below are the categories and winners for the awards that were handed out.

MOST GRAY HAIR  --  Jonathan Hunter and Lynda Wolfgram Kelly.   Both have beautiful, full heads of gray hair---Our Silver Foxes!

OLDEST CLASSMATE -- Roger Byerly won it by a few days for being born in Oct., 1949 while Carol Skinner Christensen is our youngest with a birthdate of November 25, 1950.  And Carol, the youngest in our class, was our valedictorian!

MOST CHILDREN --  Jeanette Beautrow with 53 adopted children.  Really!  Read her profile.  What an inspiration!

MOST GRANDCHILDREN --  Carol Skinner Christensen with 15 grandchildren from her 3 children.

OLDEST CHILD --  Chris Walton Smilanich has 2 daughters, ages 40 and 38.

MARRIED THE LONGEST -- Diana Alford Mullinix has been married for 39 years and still loves her man, Harvey.

LEAST HAIR --  Kenny Shelton, but there were several runner-ups.

CHANGED THE LEAST -- Terry Ragsdale Rochelean.  Also nominated was Terry Cook.  We would still recognize them anywhere.

AGED THE BEST --  Linda Graham Williams and Rich Johnson.     We kid you not!

CHANGED THE MOST --  loveable Dale Lindley.

MOST EDUCATION --  Bruce Marshall with 2 masters degrees and a PHD

NAPOLEAN DYNAMITE'S MOST USELESS SKILLS AWARD --  Ilene Austin Mecham won this because no one else would own up to this award.  Ilene is the state PTA president of Utah but we're not sure how that factors into this award.

TRAVELED THE FARTHEST -- Award went to Arlene Peterson Chapman from Virginia but also considered was Roger Byerly from Alaska.  Since we've forgotten our geography from elementary school, this was probably awarded to the wrong person.  Look at Roger's website, www.anglerslodge.com, and let's meet up at his lodge for some fishing--how about it?!!

EXERCISES THE MOST -- Bonnie Watson Cravens and Steve Hill.  We didn't get details to inspire the rest of us but Steve has golfed in all 50 states!

TRAVELED THE MOST --  Arlene Peterson Chapman for travel to 25 countries and 47 states.

CLASS CLOWN thank you to Doug Connor for contributing most of the jokes and script Ilene and Kenny used during the program.

CONTACTING TEACHERS thank you to Darla Elsass Oliver and Carol Skinner Christensen for inviting our former teachers to the pizza party.

BEATTLES LUNCHBOX thank you to Vickee Larson Poole for all her hard work finding classmates and nostalgic DVD and CD clips.

SUPER THANK YOU TO REUNION CO-CHAIRS John and Sherrie Aldape Ewing.  Sherrie's plaque said, "Your husband called.  He said you could buy anything you want."  John's plaque read, "Men are like fish.  They get in trouble when they open their mouths."

AND love, laughter, great memories, and renewed friendships were awarded to everyone who came!!
