Darla Jeane Carrington (1949-2017) 68 passed away on December 14, 2017 of natural causes. She was the daughter of John Darrel Stikes and Lucille Stikes of Idaho. Darla was born in Boise Idaho on November 12, 1949. Childhood was spent on a dairy farm near Meridian Idaho. She graduated from Meridian High School. After two years at Boise State College, she transferred to the University of Idaho and graduated with a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering. Darla’s career was varied. She started as an Electrical Engineer working for Kaiser Aerospace and Electronics in Palo Alto. As a hobby during this time, she and her husband ran a photography business. After leaving Kaiser, Darla started her own business EMI Measurements which did FCC compliance testing. While her testing lab was in Hollister, she was active in establishing Pet Friends and Rescue. She continued her religious pursuits and was ordained. When the testing lab became too physically demanding, she moved back to the San Jose area working for Tandem. The decrease in hardware design in the Bay area lead to her last career change to medical compliance, working for Abbott Vascular in Santa Clara. She retired due to health concerns. During retirement she enjoyed gardening, collecting, bird watching and her pet cats.
