I do miss Eddy Mc he was my very close friend. We shared many great times together. We became friends back in the ninth grade at Austin Freshman (Lee Freshmen now). We played on the same football team and ran track together. Man did we get into SOOO much trouble but we will not go there. After high school I joined the Navy and moved to California and soon went overseas, kind of lost track of Eddy for about 4 or 5 years. After I got out of the Navy and moved home I ran into Eddy and we started off right where we left off. He was always the life of the party. Mc could tell a story about some event that would keep you rolling on the floor or on the edge of your seat with anticipation of what might come next. Eddy left me with thousands of great memories and a love for life. He showed me how to love the mountains backpacking, horseback ridding, snow skiing and man the nightlife. I think of and miss Eddy every day I am so sad he had to leave us.

There are few people like Eddy Mc was.
Sometimes I think life is like a candle. If it burns really bright, it won't last long. Hendrix, Stevie Ray, Lennon, Jaco Pastorius.
Eddy's candle burned as bright as any I've known. It burned out way too soon. I miss him too, Randy. The world misses guys like Eddy Mc.

Randy, & Joe, I loved Eddie Mac, too. I think of him, particularly when I hike Sierra Blanca Peak. We made that trek a few times together. The last time I went alone, while at the top, I was meditating about what a long strange trip it's been, and how God has made it all worth while, and remembering Eddie Mac when suddenly an eagle appeared overhead. I shouted with joy and waved back at him.

I remember the last time I backpacked with Eddy and Randy in Ruidoso. Eddy Mc saw a hawk circling and held his arm out and tried to call him in... KAW KAW KAWWWW! I fell down laughing, partly because for about 15 seconds I expected that hawk to come on down. I firmly believe Kim saw Eddy on that peak!
