Life Lessons...

There were many things I learned about my class this past weekend.

Some from very close friends,  to some I haven't seen in years.  I bet if you recall your conversations over the weekend, you'll think of some too.

Here are just a few of my 'lessons on life' from the past 35 years:

♦ One classmate wanted specific college classes for a specific field of study, yet the college he attended didn't have it listed as a formal program.   With perserverance, he got exactly that, and now that same university offers a degree program for all students.

♦ A long-time smoker, one of my dearest friends quit smoking 2 years ago!

♦ Another dear friend worked for Southwest Airlines, back in the day of those famous 'hot pants'!  (Where was I when she was flying the 'friendly skies'!?)

♦ More than one friend is taking care of their parent(s) in their own home.  (Doesn't that now make us the 'sandwich generation'?)

♦ That I know of, at least three friends sell houses, two sell ranches, two sell loans, (and a partridge in a pear tree....)

♦ Our classmates have become golf pros, teachers, school administrators, bankers, builders, accountants, pilots, police officers, musicians, government officials, mothers, architects, doctors, ranchers, farmers, oil execs, military specialists, fathers, medical specialists, business owners, salesmen, singers, service reps, ministers, dentists, tax consultants, homemakers, environmentalists, electricians, engineers, actors, attorneys, nurses, system analysts, entertainers, graphic designers, computer techs, land specialists, talk show hosts, insurance specialists, grandparents, retirees, oh, and party planners, just to name a few!

As one classmate so aptly put it: "'74 was a cool class'!

I couldn't have said it better myself!
